Ah, the glory of 240p... Started my channel way back when, too, and the pain of lo res early content is real. Thank you for all the great lessons, Justin!
Justin....I'm 62 years old and have always been a three chord guitar player but after listen and watching your teaching post, I'm learning knew chords and fingering methods I never thought I could learn. Get job and keep teaching us!!!!!
Justin, simply put, you are a great instructor IMHO. Thanks for the patient approach to your instruction. I hope you continue to post for all of us that benefit from this approach to learning. I am working on a couple of yours, now. Here's to you! Thanks a million- wishing you all you want out of your career!
you are awesome men im serious ive been playing for 4 yearsd and i have never seen such a good teacher its so esasy to learn with you thank you very much for your awesome and great lessons
It's not 'the Eric Clapton tune'. It was written by Jimmy Cox in 1923 and made famous by Bessie Smith who was dead before Eric Clapton was born. It was covered by pretty much every blues guitarists of whom Eric Clapton is one. I'm sure he's be the first to tell you that.
Thank you, Justin. Another great lesson! I'm just starting to work out solo guitar arrangements, so would love to see more of this series, especially incorporating the melody line, and maybe a little bit about your thinking in making the choices you do. Thanks again. Your work is very much appreciated!
A+ Nice clear, well lit videos. Good slow motion, well focused, close ups, professionally explained. Any chance of you doing some Jimi Hendrix, Little Wind, Angel, The Wind Cries, Castles Made of Sand, Foxy Lady, Hey Joe Voodoo Child, The Star Spangled Banner, or Waterfall? Star Spangled would be my first choice.
your a great teacher and i dont mean to cramp your style on teaching but when your showing the chords and where to put your fingers and stuff you should pick the strings high up in the camera view so i can see where im picking with each chord :) but thanks
excellent arrangement for those (like me) who are too lazy to find out the chords. (a hammer on the g string for the E chord followed by the open high E is a nice addition and so on)
I agree with the guy few posts in front of me... you should do more beatles, especially while guitar gently weeps. Just addded it to my christmas wish list! xD :)
i love this lesson cheers to u ive been trying sites and this is by far the best lesson thanks was also trying to to find a lesson on cavatina the deer hunter music beauty of a piece do u know and good site i need to learn thisone and then going on to that one cheers again keep up the great work

Justin, I applaud your teaching abilities. I have learned a lot about finger picking patterns from you in a short time. i have a song request. i wonder if you would teach "old rocking chair" by hoagie carmichle. i have the main body of the song but am having trouble with the bridge chords
thanks for the lesson. this is the first song I am learning. Could not I have picked something easier to learn? where is that cute hat you wear on other lessons?
As always you give spot on info for what and how. Your tip to aim for the 4th fret for that F#dim chord, helped me bridge from playing the F then adding pinkie on that same fret. Cheers
As usual, a beautiful lesson. I've learned this and Hey Hey with your help Justin, now all I need is the third of the three best songs on the album, Malted Milk. Can you give it a shot? I bet you'll have close to a million views on that one. Just think about that, wow!

@stollefelix He had them up on his website but the record companies forced him to take them off cause "it was causing problems to the companies who were selling official tab books"
Funny how things of the past need to impair future development as they fight to stay alive, why not just move on and renew the business... one would think that tab books were long gone in a digital world 🤔
If your good enough to play clapton's version you don't need to watch video's on how to play it! This a great version for us mortals who want to have a version that can be played by non-guitar gods. Another great version by Justin that is quite playable and good for people who play guitar as a hobby.
Man its been a life time I saw this 12 years ago as my second cover of clapton's songs Since then I made a lot of money as a studio guitarist And all of it is bcuz of you man Those days I couldnt pay for a teacher and you was my personal teacher for free!! Wish you all the best Thankyou for everything

1st, thanks for this. The chord after the "F" your calling a F#dim Is actually a F#dim7? And the chord after the D7 where you root the E on the 5th fret is a Adim7

2019. Took so long to reach here.
Justin is highly skilled at teaching this stuff. Seems to know the detail We need to play it well. THANKS.

1:35 detail
6:40 slow playthu
2019 anybody?
just move the fing finger to the next fret after the F. Clapton does play it that way. its much easier and sound good.
What do you mean?
It's not Eric Clapton's song, he's just one of many who play it and this is his version. Jimmy Cox wrote it back in the 1920s.
No Bessie Smith wrote it
Nassim MECHERI sorry nassim. Ms. Smith popularized the song but writing credits are jim cox
"In this guitar lesson you will learn to play Eric Claptons cover of Down & and Out."

Justin, I'm beggin you. Show us how to play 'Broken hearted' by E.C. There's no tabs and vids.
I know this is a old video, but what guitar is this and what strings, I think it sounds very good.

The song is from 1920 .
he has wind cries mary on his website: justinguitar . com
i love that accent its cool and its hot
F#dim can be played on the first fret with exactly the same cord shape, or hold the F chord and play the note on the 4th fret 4th string with pinky.
Could you please show us a diagram? I just came here to get the basic chords for the song.

Why do we play 2 different A7's?
It flows better for this arrangement I think

Justin explained that right up front.
This is more complicated then the Clapton version. D7 first position can be played instead of the last four chords then switch to a G7 1st position.
Brilliant! You should be nominated for a Nobel Prize! Very clear lesson - nice to see somebody doing it slowly and patiently. Many thanks!
