And for the record, the reason the Steam Deck doesn't come in another box, is because it is a price saving measure, as Valve is losing money on each unit sold. And since they are including a hard case for the unit, it is very well protected, so the outer box isn't really necessary.

This is clearly not the system for you, but I feel like this video is going to give people the wrong impression of the device... It's definitely geared towards emulation in a portable device, but it's a nice middle ground between the huge steam deck and a smaller emulation device. And yes, I did order a Steam Deck, but the Odin is to tied me over until then, as I'm in the after Q3 grouping. While the Deck will be able to emulate more systems, the Odin still has the perfect size and is much more portable. So I'll probably keep my Deck at home mostly, and use the Odin for my device on the go.

I own both. And I can tell you the Deck blows it out the water, but Odin is definitely more potrable and outdoors-y. Build quality for both is amazing, but Odin definitely suprised me with how well built and responsive it is.

Personally I think shipping a box in a box is pretty wasteful and I hope more companies start doing like steam and use as much as necessary and as little as possible.

@@darkridearts hard disagree. I have my own business, I ship wood pieces that weigh about 2 pounds. Sold and shipped 10’s of thousands of pieces. I’ve only had 3 damaged with minimal packing. Also, as seen with the steamdeck, it can be done with electronics.

It’s not bad but I would not buy it as the steam deck does the same thing and will have better long term support. Not to mention it will have better resell value overall and more long term functionality as once I’m done with it being a steam deck I can turn it into a mini pc.

I like that each of the competing "portable gaming PCs" have an area they excel in. Switch for Nintendo, Steamdeck for high res/specs, Ayo neo for its small form factor, but I would totally get an Odin for emulation and some streaming instead of getting a tablet.

Luxury for sure though. I'm currently emulating on my Pixel 6 pro, a raspberry pi4, and my childhood psp 1001 so it's not dire

Also, another tip, you can have android use a joystick to control the mouse pointer, meaning you could theoretically play card games, possibly worth looking into.
