A really old family-friend used to mail fruit cake all the way from Canada to our house in London for Christmas - but now with shipping prices and some of my family being plant based or vegan it stopped being as special since not everyone could participate. Thinking of renewing the tradition with this Bara Brith!

This is the definition of giving a little home cooked love personally. If even one person makes the recipe at home for their family, everyone involved has spread a little joy and a beautiful message of giving, caring and creating and that’s what the season is all about. Beautiful. Was a little anxious when was looking for people at first. Got to be awkward for a second, but of course people are going to love it. Never surprising to know how much he cares about pretty much all life. Good guy.

That looks very similar to the apple bread that my grandma, mother, and I myself use to make. Although you're cutting apple pins out of apples and soak them in rum and sugar with raisins over night. I think it's at least one third apples. Then you knead it to a dough with cocoa powder and similar spices but most importantly cloves.
