Nagas Will Never Join Indian Union Nor Accept India's Constitution: NSCN (I-M) Chief Th. Muivah

  • In an interview that is likely to upset and even annoy the government at the Centre and which starkly reveals the sharp differences that are still separating the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) from the Indian government, the general secretary of the NSCN (I-M) has repeatedly and forcefully said that the Nagas will never be part of the Indian Union nor will they accept India’s constitution.
Thuingaleng Muivah added that there could be no compromise on the NSCN (I-M)’s insistence on a Naga flag and Naga constitution.
“We have stood our ground on these two non-negotiable issues and we shall continue to stand till the last man standing,” he said.
Muivah added that Naga organisations like the Naga National Political Groups or several civil society organisations, who are not insisting on a separate flag and constitution, are “traitors”.

The younger Naga generations minds are bound with the psychosis of fear from the so called freedom fighters. Maybe our ancestors had bitter past but now all we want is to have a brighter future and with all this arms powers, extortions n illegal taxations, their is no chance for the younger Naga generations to have a development, peaceful society and brighter future in days to come.
Talks have being going on for decades n more the year past the most factions are coming up so with no unity and peace between our own leaders where are they trying to lead us even if solution is given , it’s pure hypocrisy and it had just turn out to be a self interest demand in my own opinion.

I still remember the day, I was 6 playing in the kitchen when 22nd Asam Rifles broke our door and hit my grandma with the butt of the SLR rifle, she was dragged outside along with my grandpa, mom, dad, uncle & aunt, and beaten black and blue. My dad was hung upside down for hours, tortured, nails pulled out, 5 ribs broken, and a fractured knee. My neighbor a 12-year-old boy, with whom I would go to school every morning was gunned down (28 bullets) because he pelted stones at the Army men who tried to rape his mother. More than 500 houses were burnt, and our granaries, and fields were all burnt. I may not agree with our Naga Army and Taxation, but cometh the day I will be the first to sacrifice my life for our Nation. I was born a Naga and I will die a Naga. Freedom till death. Kuknalim

Th Muivah is really right, what has applied in J&K cannot be applied the same in Naga matter because in J&K history Hari Singh accepted to joint Indian Union with special autonomy whereas in Naga case they are never a part of India before British Colonial rule
and after India's independence in 16th May 1951 plebiscite 99.9% of Nagas voted to remained Independent from India.

Gandhiji stated that - “Nagas have every right to be independent. We did not want to live under the domination of the British and they are now leaving us. I want you to feel that India is yours. I feel that the Naga Hills are mine just as much they are yours, but if you say, ‘it is mine’ then the matter must stop there. I believe in the brotherhood of man, but I do not believe in force or forced unions. If you do not wish to join the Union of India nobody will force you to do that……..I will come to the Naga Hills; will ask them to shoot me first before one Naga is shot”.
So now the GOI has to find the way out so that the Gandhiji -'the father of the nation' dreamed for the Nagas been cherished and fulfilled with a respectable solution. And also the Great PM Atal Behari Vajpayee-Ji planned for the Naga's be fulfilled as, during his tenure, the GOI recognised "the uniqueness of Naga history. "

@@smtkumar007 First, secession is not permitted by the constitution as no nation would prescribe ways for its own dissolution, so good luck with that. Second, modern political philosophy does not accept self-determination as a justification for secession (as in the case of Nagas or Tamils), only prolonged institutionalized injustice. Me and my family for example, can't just form our own nation in our house because the Indian constitution doesn't resonate, and can't go cry to the UN about it because secession is a domestic issue.
So just because 70% of Kashmiris think that Sharia, as opposed to the Indian constitution, would be the best way to live, it does not automatically grant them the right to secede or to the land of Kashmir. They've persecuted their own religious minorities (Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists), most of whom want an even deeper integration of Kashmir with India and have ancestors who've lived on the Kashmiri land longer than Islam has been around.

Nagalim will be a part of India with sharing sovereignty, a separate state flag, and a state constitution. India can add Naga regiment in the Indian Army for security and special existence. One state bank for Nagalim under RBI for financial services, foreign affairs still with India #just asking almost every state of India has unique history & traditions. Nagas will also have their own forever, no Indian can deny the Naga's traditions and history.

Nagas at the moment is still patient but Manipur is like a tinderbox. I hope it goes back to normal and like educated adults talk about the issue in a civil manner. So many innocent lives, in a matter of seconds all lost.
This interview is a good reminder that we should be open to talks but a wrong move can make things worst.

Nagas were free people until the British came and colonized them in 1878 after successfully suppressing the Angami uprising. Although, Naga-land was never fully conquered by the British. Only 1/3 of Naga-land was under British India, colonized by the British. The Nagas declared independence one day before India's independence on 14th August 1947. Naga-land was kept as an "Excluded Area" before India was granted independence by the British. Moreover, the Naga Hills was administered seperately as different entity...it wasn't part of the British India. But unfortunately after India's independence, the prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, and the prime minister of Myanmar, U Nu came to Naga-land uninvited and colonized them - eastern Naga-land by Myanmar and western Naga-land by India. The inhuman atrocities committed against the innocent Nagas remain untold until today. Pray for the restoration of Naga-land. They deserve to live under one nation. They deserve to get back their freedom. Say no to colonisation.

Why do elite mainlanders get pissed of when we north eastern ask for representation?? We north eastern have compromised a lot for your indian nationalism... We just want representation and full autonomy and power in our land... We want to have our own constitution, own flag, own system, own anthem, own language and everything of our own...
Just answer me.. Why should I bow down yo flag which was there from before even before my state decided to be part of india?? Why should I sing anthem which doesn't even bother to utter a single word for my land?? Why should I cheer up for so called national team which doesn't even have one of my people?? Why should I learn your hindi language?? And why should I identity from imposed indian identity?? India is just 73 years old.. So is indian identity...
We north eastern have slowly started realising all these things....
And we are not anti national if we want to have separate nation for us... I want sikkim to break away from india so that we will have representation in global stage... I just want to undo those things which my ancestors were compelled to do so...

Muivah went to China-Yunnan in 1960's to train militants to fight against India which resulted in lives of many soldiers who had nothing to do with insurgency.
So much for the man of conviction who has blood of thousands on his hands, lol.
Are you going to support those childrens and wives of martyred soldier's? Those slain soldiers came from poor families, farmers, manual workers and had nothing to do with Tribal conflicts in the North-East. Not just soldier's but common people of North East from all sections have been killed sadly due to the insurgency.
*Where do you think these Chinese made Ak-47s and techniques to make IED's, bombs etc came from...* who taught these Tribal people who couldn't even read back then to use Jungle ambush tactics and intelligence gathering etc? It's straight from the China's policy of Mao's warfare tactics.
*So I'm politely suggesting you to kindly shut tf up for being deliberately ignorant.*
Killing people for the sake of your dubious freedom isn't fancy, it's called terrorism. *Get some moral and ethical lessons first, then talk about freedom.*

Even I am not a Naga, but I can feel this that old man is wise, very clear about his points. India is least interested in solving any issues of the tribals because they dont consider them fully humans or even humans. And rights of any individual can not be bargained, of course why should any individuals be controlled by others(who dont consider any other humans as humans) ain't that killing yourself slowly in the process? The idea of India is very narrow, it wants a state for the ruling class only, anyone that seems different will not be accepted. There is no freedom of speech in India, you can be labelled a terrorist anytime or anti- (...... Anything) once a person speaks out its truth. And you can get killed anytime for offending the Indian State( not a country).

Indic people never lived in Myanmar.
Ahoms are Tai people, again not related to Chinese in any way.
Meitei people are an isolated group too, not related to any people outside of Manipur.
Indo-Aryan immigrants never inhabited the hill states of today's Northeastern India.
Naga people are native to their land, their is no historical evidence of their immigration from China, but there are enough evidences of Indo-Aryan speakers immigrating to India from Central Asia.
