Seed oils vs. saturated fat

- Dr. Paul challenges Dr. Alo's perspective on seed oils and saturated fat. Dr. Alo explains why he's not as concerned about seed oils being a main driver of atherosclerosis and Paul explains why he believes saturated fat has unnecessarily been given a bad wrap when it comes to heart health.
My favorite part is when Alo says his LDL is fine but then says he's taking two medications for it. THAT'S THE PROBLEM. American Medicine is DOOMED.
Ridiculous right haha what a clown
😂
Yeah, if he ate the right foods, he wouldn't need those medications.
yup... doesnt make any sense... he was just saying is ldl was fine to basically negate what paul was saying.. basically lying if you ask me
I have had friends say things like this, when discussing health....i.e. "My blood pressure is perfect." "My cholesterol is perfect." Then it comes out they are on meds. Well, NO, your markers are NOT perfect, then...not in any natural definition. 🤦♀️
After Covid I don’t agree that everyone in the medical profession has my best health at heart. Everyone is trying to make money and shilling for the drug companies is very lucrative.
medical industry is predatory. That simple. I avoid it as much as I can.
I think that entire thing woke up fair amount of people about how crooked the medical industrial complex is.
This is also why "The Great Cholesterol Con" is known to be the "Prequel" to the COVID-19.
I'm an FNP/ENP (dual board certified Nurse Practitioner) and was an RN for 20 years when COVID started. Me trying to be the voice of calm and reason and presenting the general public with rational thought is the reason I'm off most social media (Facebook mainly). I tried to say the 6ft distance, masking up, lock downs are all BS and not science based and healthy living, (eating right, weight loss, frequent hand washing, etc.) has always proved the right course of action. I was shouted down and called a quack and attacked regularly. So I quit trying to help the general public since they obviously didn't want to listen.
Fast forward to the 2023 Chocrane review and I was proven right. Masking and vax did very little, hand washing and distancing (over 6 feet since it can spread airborne further) were the two highest protecting factors. However what I've been telling my patients for years (and went back to doing mainly since EVERYONE is an expert on FB and other social media). Which is to lose weight, lower you BP, stop smoking, eat right (not vegan or Guberment "guidelines"), exercise, etc. and your risk will go down significantly.
Yeah my body my choice changed really fast! It was take it or your fired
"everybody that works in healthcare is trying to help people" hmmmm couldn't disagree more. Has he delt with a hospital lately?
No he hasn’t…… what a stupid question
Agreed!!
healthcare system is predatory. no other way to put it.
Most of my life . been told to reduce fat, butter, milk, and no red meats. Well hasn't worked for me so I recently started eating red meats, raw milk, grass fed butter, HONEY has always been a part of most of my life. l feel much better I started doing intermittent fasting since May 2023. No oil except extra virgin olive oi.l am losing weight, and I love it. Thank you Paul Saladino
becareful with EVOO.
georgi was recently talking about the legislation that passed allowing oil companies to sneak upto 30% of pufa's into EVOO without telling the buyer.
How could an ultra processed product that's been manufactured for just about century, be healthier than something found in nature for millions of years.
That’s the million dollar question.
Because when we became stupid enough to isolate fats from animals, which is considered ultra processing, we died earlier. Then an alternative had to be found. Nuts and seeds were consumed for million of years and Noone actually died from it and so they thought let's isolate the oils from those products. EUREKA! You have seed oils.
Snake venom is natural as well, does that mean its healthier than seed oil?
@@ice1311people haven't been eating snake Venom for thousands of years
do you really think we evolved to consume industrially processed oils? @@ice1311
I love when Paul debates these Dr's like when he was on the Dr's show and they're all fat and unhealthy telling him how he's wrong but is extremely healthy
ya, this alo guy looks like hes been feminized.. physically and personality. Paul should have brought up declining testosterone in men then used him as an example.
Paul , im sure youve heard of Dr Natasha Campbell, GAPS protocol , she pioneered everything that you know and believe , she is like the mother of health ..she has a brilliance just like you i would love to see you have her on one of your podcasts ... she does have soo much to talk about which of course youll agree w and you wont have to say to much she basically will give all her experience and knowledge that backs up all of your brilliance !! keep doing what your doing brotha!! You help soo many
This is also why a debate with a local health official will interesting to watch especially when they have put up so much "helpful" information out to the people. Ohio will be a good start.
I love paul, but if you take a look at paul his videos a few years ago, he aged like 15 years

Guy on right: tan, healthy, strong n stock loaded with facts?
It also helps that Paul works out everyday, Dr Alo probably sits inside all day looking at patients.
I also reckon Paul Saladino looks old as fuck. He looks late 40s. Also he's got that old man's body with his bloated abs.
Agreed. Every time I watch a video of someone schilling health information, I just look at their face/body comp and that will tell you if they know what the hell they are talking about. Sorry Dr Gundry, proof is in your pudding belly.
This is such a stupid argument. Does your neurologist have to have his own brain tumor to help you get rid of yours?
I smell soy.
I love how Alo is drinking some soft drink from a PFAS lined can whilst claiming to know about health.
Hey Paul. I just watched your interview with Russel Brand and wanted to say congratulations on handling that situation so well. You did a great job on keeping calm, not giving to much detailed information out but giving enough to sound competent and putting up with his rambling. Nicely done. My wife and I are getting started on your was for sure! Cheers
U can hear the seed oils in his voice and red face
I am totally on Paul's side and love the animal based life because of him. But, he needs to work on not monologing and stepping on his guests' speaking time. I appreciate his passion but his approach can be off putting.

This guy was a layup for Paul.
Paul is right… people eat the saturated fat with sugar and the government says “ITS THE SATURATED FAT!!! BAN ALL REAL FOOD!!”
I read that in one particular country, they have started placing a mandatory label on their beverages and it is a huge disgrace to these politicians. In Singapore fresh milk are labeled with a nutrition grade of D while many synthetic drinks are graded as A.

I'm glad he is not my cardiologist, 180 degrees out of phase with reality and can't explain the huge rise in poor health in the last century which follows seed oils in the diet
ya, he doesnt seem to have the ability to think critically or think outside of what he was taught in medical school. He was also obsessing for hours replying to almost every comment in the first video posted pushing all his outdated dangerous advice. He just can not be wrong, his personality wont allow it.
@@user-io8bm6gz5z Nothing wrong with him, it is the health officials and politicians that turned him into an odd one. He takes pharmaceutical drugs including a statin, so he is brainwashed and impaired.
@saraandersson166Correct, but it's a 100 year long correlation, and a very disconcerting one at that.
@saraandersson166 Correct. It's not just a single factor but that's not the point. We have to start somewhere. I reversed a rare disease with no recognized cure, it's called eosinophilic esophagitis, and I did it by subtracting seed oils ruthlessly.
How is he going to say he doesn’t care about seed oils and then sit there and defend it for another 20 minutes TERRIBLY. 😂 thank you for this conversation. This guy is absolutely hired clown. Please do more of these!
That would be admitting to murder, so it is tough to acknowledge.
I looked at a few pages of randomized control studies on red meat. I tried to be unbiased. Hard to find great studies but the few I saw showed either benefits from increase red meat or not much of a change. There were a couple that showed bad things about red meat but there was always some flaw in the study or the study was funded by a bunch of biased corporations.
So I should take advice from the guy who is on cholesterol medication and drinks Fresca, or the healthy slim guy who lives by what he says and looks half his age?
Not to mention the veracity of the claims each are making, Alo's studies are trash and Saladino has an extensive list of quality studies.

@@robertdi2483Seed/vegetable oils, aside from those like olive and coconut, to name a couple were none existent prior to 1866. They were not yet widely accepted during the great depression. Woman had more children at home, unlike nowadays where women are having less children and can't have home birthdays because of high risk health issues. Hey Paul love all your videos and appreciate the information you share ! Have you considered going on the Andrew Huberman Podcast ? As far as I'm aware, I don't think you've ever been on it ?
Why don’t you make the connection for them and set up the podcast?
The discussion about moving arteries and veins was really interesting. That's fascinating how a vein changes and then breaks down when moved into the other system. I'm just as curious as Paul as to why LDL wouldn't affect both systems. What is the difference? One side has more pressure, one side is oxygenated.....what else is there? Darnit, I wish I wasn't a layman now, my curiosity has shot way past my knowledge of this subject.
Go Paul 🏄🏻! I just ❤your research!

@Paul Saladino MD I have a question, I have tried repeatedly to find out why wild caught Atlantic mackerel is such a huge brain boost in not only mental energy, but really good mood boost, as well as a really goodnights sleep. Keep up the great work Dr.Paul!
18:15 he said prior to this that saturated fat and cardiovascular risk follows a sigmoid-like function which plateaus around 10% (17:30), so a reduction in saturated fat intake ratio woudl result in no cardiovascular risk. yet when they reduced the Finnish dietary saturated fat intake to 10%, he says that they had an 84% reduction to overall mortality, but 10% is prior to the sigmoid ikflection point. So this means he either is pulling numbers out of his ass, or he doesn’t know what he’s talking about; he contradicts himself.
NOT CREDIBLE AT ALL. Paul is 1000000 times more informed.
I had my blood sent to Boston Heart for a more thorough breakdown. They showed the types of fats in your blood all were good except they flagged high beta sisterol in my blood which are plant fats. I no longer consume any oils or go out to eat. I hyper absorb any refined fats.
Or could it be a replacement of the saturated fats in place of the Linoleic acid (LA) in the cell membranes which releases the LA in the serum for processing and disposal?
how do you send it there bro
The big problem is overfeeding that comes from food addiction that comes from foods filled with seed oils. Seed oils are bad, but even worse with overconsumption.

Drinking a buttload of spirits. Alcohol significantly raises blood pressure and destroys glutathione, meaning that any oxidation that comes along will oxidize the crap out of any ldl in your blood. If they're drinking heavily there's a good chance that they're imbibing other inflammatory products , i.e. nicotine (cigarettes, vape) as well. Apparently illegal moonshine was being made in heavy amounts as well, meaning that they have access to high amounts of grain. None of these factors were cited and controlled for in the studies.

Hi doctor quick question raw milk is illegal in my state what replacements do you suggest ?
they sell raw goats milk as animal food in pet stores. It comes frozen in bottles. maybe there is raw cow's milk sold this way, too.
You might be able to buy it at the farm. But I wouldn't worry about it, since there is no conclusive evidence of any health advantage of raw dairy.
@@aliendroneservices6621 Its a known fact that cooked animal foods do not have the same benefits for mammals, especially during developmental years. The differences are very pronounced. it can be shipped from Pennsylvania Dutch farmers but I dont recall their name as I moved to spain 12 years ago, actually it was raw cheese and butter. what I did to obtain raw milk sources was to stop at any farms i saw with cows, particularly organic dairy farms, and begged them to sell milk to me, and they would agree. i could go into the milk house and get the milk myself as long as the milk truck that came to the farm wasnt around. hershburgers farm in WI is a co op that will provide what you need, their raw cream is delicious and makes great icecream, shipping is always pricey. .there isn't a substitute for raw dairy. here, I buy raw goat cheese but the butter is pasteurized but it's a concession I am willing to make. i move around a lot and gave always been able to find sources wherever I live. a small yogurt business agreed to sell raw cows milk for example. if I couldn't obtain dairy then I'd try to up my fat intake with bone marrow and look for meat with the most fat and also plenty of raw eggs.

I watched the whole discussion and I don't think you got through to Dr Alo about this. He does not appear to be very astute when it comes to separating the real facts from the narrative put out in the mainstream.
I bet he had and still has no clue that linoleic acid esters carried by LDL promote oxidation of LDL. A cardiologist is not a metabolism expert and most of them are way too busy to read the research literature. By contrast, in spite of all the attacks, people like Dr. Saladino spend the time to read this literature and are more informed.

Do you know that the human body do not need a lot of protein? The daily recommended quantity is 45g, for women and 55g for men. What you really need to keep your heart and vascular system healthy is to supplement with medium chain saturated fat. You should never replace carbs with protein.
@@wilsont1010 You don't need carbs at all, how many thousands of individual anecdotes will it take before you wake up? How can the accumulated Linoleic acid be eliminated from the body after it is already present?
The problem with these is because of prolonged consumption of these things they stay in the body for years, the only way to remove them is by detoxification aka not consuming them anymore.
It takes years, this is why you do not put MUFA and PUFA into your body. Olive oil for instance turns rancid at the blink.of an eye.

You cannot start a "study" with a contaminated subject base. This is especially true when it takes years for the body to process plastic fats.

In this case mouse studies are good enough. At the cellular level the difference between mice and humans is trivial. It has been proven that a 20% calorie level of linoleic acid in the mouse diet causes mitochondrial DNA damage as well as mitochondrial damage in general. There is no magic cutoff where for example at 19% this this damage would disappear. It is a distribution and damage occurs at 10% and a small amount at 2%. Why would anyone consume industrial seed oils when saturated fats (animal, coconut) do not have this negative effect on mitochondria? Because LDL goes up? We are back to the LDL quackery and the modern day blood-letting "medicine". If these modern medicine cult clowns care so much about heart disease, then control the agents that oxidize LDL and not engage in anti-medicine pushing reduction of total LDL to dangerous levels (less than 100 mg/dL). LDL is required for the proper function of the immune system and the brain.
Saturated fat doesn't even cause LDL to rise (not that that would be bad). What actually happens is phytosterol (found in seed-oils) causes LDL to drop.

mostly saturated animal fat.
Just comparing Paul's and the other guy faces is enough
The medical institution not only created millions and millions of unhealthy people they have also turned their staff and patients into sickly individuals, especially the ones that have an IQ below a certain level.
Looks like he injected seed oils into his face.
That the joker slamming md baker? If yes, bad style. Guys, i hear very fast talking, ím checking play speed repeatedley, erratic eyemovement, wandering attention, awkward smiling, makeup and coloured hair. Nothing bad about anything of it. In combination it comes of very strangeley… could be symptoms.
😂😂😂😂
I’m not sure if that’s the guy
But looks to be wearing possible make up
And colored hair
Seems like a character from the SIMS game
he was also in the comments section of the first video for hours replying to every comment pushing his outdated advice. a little obsessive and just adds to the picture.
Alo doesn’t even seem confident in what he’s saying. He seems hesitant. Paul is sharp and does tons of research clearly and has a great argument stance
That would be admitting to murder, so it is tough to acknowledge.
Paul you destroyed him completely.
Just found sunflower seed oil in my fruit and veggie wash from whole foods. Paul, what is the best way to clean organic fruits? thanks, very grateful for you!!!
If you are washing it off, is it really a concern? It is a surfactant.
LOL. It's organic dude. Just water.
Use dihydrogen monoxide.
Such small amounts are absolutely negligible. Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid, don’t forget that.

Not sure why you would give this guy any air time specially after what he did to Dr. Baker.
Yes, big mistake.
