Ninjago as a TV show is still going strong, sure it's had it's ups and downs over the years but it's still a good watch and dragons rising is especially good
I thought the The Island was also a rough point for the series. Hands of Time has grown on me a bit, since it’s technically a classic series even if there are some clunky lines.
Fun fact: There was a cancelled Legends of Chima movie called Time of Heroes. It was going to be set after the events of the Fire Vs Ice season. It was set for a December 2015 release. But for unknown reasons it got cancelled. This was probably because the theme was planned to get discontinued in 2016.
Anyone disappointed that some of the side characters from the first Lego Movie didn’t do anything in the second movie outside of making a quick cameo? I sure did when I first watched it in the cinema..
I still have The Lego Movie, Lego Batman, and the Clutch powers movie on dvd. The Lego Movie was without a doubt one of my favorite movies of all time, and the second one was... ok at best. Not bad, but can't hold a candle to the first. After watching this video I feel old.
I could not have agreed more when it came to the ninjago film. Sometimes I forget it even existed due to the writing of the film and the characters that honestly disappointed me when I was actually excited for the film and just pretened that it was never made. At the same time tho, I get that it did and wanted to bring in new viewers to the fandom, I do also feel that shouldnt have been as an insult to the those who were fans of the fan base before the movie. The very few things that I liked (and were even somewhat similar to the show), was that not everything was lego, which I loved about the show. It felt new and different that was almost like a breath of fresh air when it came to lego animated shows. But thats just me.
You know, personally my favorite part of the lego movies are Emmet's speeches (his first one in particular) because of how much seriousness and care were put in to them, that and the switch between the Lego world and Real world was a nice touch.
It always annoyed me that the lego Ninjago movie was so mid. The actual ninjago series was probably one of the best things to come out of 2010 CN (aside from the big 3 and steven universe) just a really fun show with surprisingly good story telling and action. But the movie just went for its own approach, prioritising comedy over actual storytelling
@@Erasureeraser Oh god that always bothered me. 0 spinjitzu and no real focus on weapons (which are always a huge selling point in the show) and no dragons for the other ninjas

Man, I loved The LEGO Batman Movie and I was so sad when I realized we weren't going to get the sequel because of Warner Bros. selling the franchise rights. That is the only LEGO movie I want to see from the LEGO franchise.
Hard to believe that The Lego Movie is 10 years old. It's good to see a film that's technically an advertisement for Lego's actually ended up being one of the top animated films to ever exist.
Ninjago Movie could have been about how kids twist the normal story into their own version. This would have allowed the flanderized characters to exist while providing a potential motive. This could act as a "reversal" of the original Lego Movie's message. Someone taking what you built and destroying it without caring about what you feel/think.
Lego ninjago (the show) mostly does get better after season 3 I would say that season 4, 5, (6 is divisive but I personally like it), especially 8 and 9 are some of the best seasons in the show
The reboot/what comes after march of the oni is also pretty cool. I loved prime empire and the one with Wojira. Also crystallized wasn’t the best, but I enjoyed watching it. Also dragons rising seems awesome as well.
The Lego Batman movie might not have IMO been as good in plot as The Lego Movie 1, but the humor still makes it worth watching, and anyone who defends the other aspects have perfectly valid opinions. The Lego Ninjago Movie, on the other hand, is not even worth watching, though it at least led the 2 new fans from it into one of that show's best seasons. Also, I decided not to watch the second part because of how worse it is. EDIT: I just remembered that I love the mech designs in The Lego Ninjago Movie. That's one of few things I like about it.
One thing that couldn't be helped was that the novelty couldn't last forever. The plot twist that the "Man Upstairs" is a Lego hobbyist, and his son just wanted to play with his Lego collection, was something that couldn't be replicated.
The oni trilogy following the movie is awesome. Plus what comes after is pretty good, but crystallized is kinda bad, but it’s still fun to watch near the end. I haven’t seen much of dragons rising, but it still looks cool.
What's downright hilarious is that when Lego moved from Warner Bros to Universal, Emmett and Benny went with them. They changed their names to Mario and Luigi.
The first Lego Movie had a video game tie-in that was surprisingly good for being a tie-in game, owing to the overall quality of the Lego adaptation games made by the same developers. The second one? The only game in the series that is considered bad. The mediocrity is strong with this one.
I think I watched a some of the unikitty tv show and the only two episode plots I remember is one about unikitty pretending to be a robot in some robot fighting thing, and a desert heist and with a joke about a quadruple double cross with characters magically sitting on a chair just to rotate it.
I came back to this video because I had a horrible nightmare that universal let illumination Entertainment make the lego minions movie. I can’t remember the plot but I remember lego versions of universal owned characters like minions and other illumination characters DreamWorks characters (like Shrek, Po, Hiccup, Alex, Poppy and boss baby) Jurassic Park characters etc. It would basically be universal’s version of Ralph breaks the next internet or space Jam: A New Legacy but even worse.
In a time before time there was one not any Lego movies. This was an era of legends! The Time of The Bionicle. We all came from our homelands and stuck out to hear the chronicle.
Hot Take: I enjoyed The LEGO Movie 2. It is Mike Mitchell's best film, but that doesn't mean I trust him to direct another film from a famous IP after what he did with Kung Fu Panda 4. Also, the one thing I love from the sequel more than the first is the villain. Lord Business is a decent threat, but the character kinda lacks depth and acts just as another control freak villain. Yes, we later find out the character is inspired by the boy's father, who doesn't want him to play with his legos, but other than a line, he mentions that nobody ever told him he was special, he's not as intresting as the main characters. Rex Dangervest is not only a funny and threatening villain, but we already know him. SPOILERS, if you never saw the film, Rex is a future version of Emmet, in which his timeline, nobody rescue him while trying to save his friends. Stuck inside a dryer for years while watching all his friends dancing and remembering all the times everyone called him out for not being tough, made him bitter and change his whole identity. Remember, Emmet was lonely even before becoming the special, he had no friends, no family, just him, and a pet plant. And after finally making new friends and saving the world, he believed his friends abandoned him because they didn't bother to search him, which is why he created a time machine to save his past self, to make him the tough person Lucy "would be proud of" and provoke ourmomageddon, so everyone will get trapped in the bin of storag, and get a taste of what was it like to unable to move in one place. He's one of the few villains I wouldn't mind if he had won, because he has the right to revenge, but that also allowed Lucy and everyone else to see their errors of their ways (Lucy trying to be a tough person and ignoring his past, the master builder's being tough for the sake of survive, and the gang and the systar system trying to make everything awesome and ignoring the cruelity truth that not everything is awesome) and change for the better. I know I sound like I'm overanalyzing a sequel people just found to be okay, but it's true
You know it’s going be good video when cartoonshi puts the flaming fire png in the thumbnails where it show it suffers the downfall and showing his hatred against cartoons that he despise.
It’s actually crazy how bad the second Lego movie was compared to the first one. It’s like they fired basically every writer from the first movie and hired interns for the second. I went into the second one with high hopes after watching the first one and about 5 minutes in knew it was gonna be bad
even though LEGO movie two was flawed, I personally had a fun time with it, even though the first movie is so much better. But the video game version of the lego movie part 2 is one of the worst Lego games ever
Also with Lego Ninjago, I think a lot of the key audience had moved on. Most of the kids who watched ninjago were teenagers at that point, to whom ninjago was a fond childhood memory, not something worth dropping $15 on a movie ticket for. Maybe if they released it now, where the key audience is all nostalgic, or a couple years prior, when the key audience was still around, it would’ve done better
Honestly, The Batman Lego movie was amazing. I kinda didn't process that the franchise was dying when I watched it, it just seemed so full of talent and good writing to me (ignoring the dumb WB property push)
The only thing I really remember about the TV show was the appendix episode. That thing has been ingrained in my mind. Also fun fact: one of the guys that worked on “Dick figures” worked on that show
I think with the state of movies these days, even a decent Lego movie would do well. Why not make a Clutch powers remake or run with the Lego space themes? There's definitely stuff one could do.
I wish they'd have made a Lego Space movie and focused on Benny and his crew of Spacemen (Lenny, Kenny, and Jenny). Traveling space, fighting Blacktron, and how the crew handles Benny and his unhinged energy for ships.
That's what I thought the second Lego Movie would be. Focused on Benny. The moment I heard that the sequel was going to be set in space, I thought that meant that Benny would be the main character or that he'd at least play a much bigger role than in the last movie. But nope. That did not happen. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and tell my own story some day somehow.
As someone who has kept up with Ninjago pretty deep into it: The series ends in my opinion around Season 8 i believe was it. When Spoiler: Lyod becomes the golden Ninja and Garmadon is cured. After that the entire series honestly takes a pretty deep nosedive in writing quality. Edit: Arguably Nias Spinjutsu mastery i liked post that „ending“
My guy, you have to see the newer seasons of Ninjago. They elevated the intensity with more continuity in their stories, more stakes, and more character development. It was never grim dark or anything, but there was a clear sense of increasing maturity as time went on and it's because Ninjago always took itself seriously. Really give it a chance if you can, the entire thing is pretty much on Netflix and the best season (4, 8, and 9) happen well after you stopped watching. Season 8 especially man, I can't praise it enough. Probably one of the best seasons of any animated show I've ever seen, the pacing is so tight I'd compare it to Avatar Book 2.

Universal will be releasing a new lego movie this year, being a biographic film of Pharrell Williams which he unveiled the poster for on Twitter. Plus there are rumors for Lego sets from the movie that will be releasing later this year. Its not the same
The Lego movie franchise for those who are confused died with the Warner Brothers partnership Also, remember, they not only on a Batman and DC comics but they also own Emmet, wild style, Unikitty and metal beard. However, it’s possible that Benny actually went to universal since he originated from all the way back before the franchise even existed
9:50- Ninjago is still good. If anything, it’s actually improved, telling far more mature stories nowadays than they did before. Also, another fantastic Lego Show I highly recommend is Lego Monkie Kid. It’s an absolutely glorious show based off of Journey To The West with animation by Flying Bark Productions (the guys behind Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and an absolutely STACKED voice cast, including Jack De Sena (voice of Sokka) as the main character, and the absolutely genius casting choice of Sean Schemmel (voice of Son Goku) as Sun Wu Kong. Genuinely, check it out, it's fantastic.
One thing I remember was that they had a tie in game for the ninjago movie, but the game is quite literally retelling the movie, so no matter if you played the game or watched the movie you got the same story
It’s kinda a shame that these movies gradually got more disappointing overtime. as a fan of these movies while the future is somewhat bleak, I’m excited for what may be coming soon!
If there was one thing LEGO i could recommend, it'd be LEGO Monkie Kid - perfect characters, perfect voice acting, banger music, animated by Flying Bark- it is /PEAK/!
9:47 Oh trust me, if you’ve only gotten through the first three seasons then it’s gotten absolutely insane with the other 13 seasons. Even more Elemental Masters, a ghost possessing Lloyd’s body, a genie or Djinn named Nadakhann, twins with time powers, Garmadon being resurrected after legitimately dying in Season 5, the Ninja basically faced the embodiments of destruction with the Oni, a fire powered snake, Zane being turned evil when he got amnesia after being flung to another realm, the Ninja literally fighting the programming of a video game after being stuck inside it, a Skull Sorcerer, a sea monster, the Overlord coming back again, and now every realm connected to Ninjago being mashed together into one, things are absolutely nuts and I still love it
I actually really enjoyed the lego ninjago movie. I know that it didn't follow the lore of the original series, which is one of my favorite shows ever, but i think the original story it told was still pretty good. And i found most of the jokes and gags genuinely funny.
i remember watching this afterschool everyday waiting for it to be on in cable in elementary school then watching it again on netflix finishing the series again somewhere in 2023 realizing the lego movie is 10 year old makes me feel old cause i watched it around the year it came out :(
I really liked Lego Movie 2, and I think that's entirely due to... me skipping the other Lego Movies. That was the only sequel I watched, so I didn't have issues with oversaturation, and the jokes didn't feel like they were stale yet. Really happy I had that experience instead. While I could still tell that some of the writing was iffy, I think it landed a lot more for me than otherwise.
The Lego Movie 2 being a downgrade compared to the first Lego Movie feels shockingly similar to how Clone High Reboot is inferior to the original series.

I remember watching every single trailer and clip over and over again as a kid, counting down the days till the first movie came out. Then when they teased a sequel in a behind the scenes video, I got hyped and counted the years again for it.

I thought the The Island was also a rough point for the series.
Hands of Time has grown on me a bit, since it’s technically a classic series even if there are some clunky lines.
hands of time and crystalized are overhated imo
Fun fact: There was a cancelled Legends of Chima movie called Time of Heroes. It was going to be set after the events of the Fire Vs Ice season. It was set for a December 2015 release. But for unknown reasons it got cancelled. This was probably because the theme was planned to get discontinued in 2016.
By the quality of the movie poster was it gonna be Theatrical or a Cartoon Network Movie

Lego movies eh? Well, I mean Pharrell Williams has a movie called Piece by Piece about him in a Lego movie coming around the October.
But thats just me.
tbf, within the fandom people will still use the "La-Loyd" joke that Garmadon made
From my memory Unikitty was like Uncle Grandpa/SpongeBob and had nothing to do with lego besides one character being a literal lego brick
It was more like SpongeBob and MLP
unikitty was so good do NOT compare it to uncle grandpa😭

I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard so little about it that I agree anyway
@wallowlight just because a TV show is underrated that doesn't make it good
@@noahalcantar2431 it was good

You know, personally my favorite part of the lego movies are Emmet's speeches (his first one in particular) because of how much seriousness and care were put in to them, that and the switch between the Lego world and Real world was a nice touch.
3:14 I realised how funny it is that most of their movies end with taking a (usually) rectangular object to the centre of the bad thing to stop it
Still upset that this series ended up dying out because there's loads of potential for theatrical Lego films.
The fact that the sequel to Lego Batman was going to be a Justice League movie seemed like a missed opportunity.
The fact that they didn't use Spinjitzu in the movie which is a trademark in the entire show is pretty dissapointing
@@Erasureeraser Oh god that always bothered me. 0 spinjitzu and no real focus on weapons (which are always a huge selling point in the show) and no dragons for the other ninjas
@@majesticmo5048 I'm okay with no dragons (I mean the Ninjas literally had their own robotic vehicles in the Overlord season) but not having Spinjitzu is where this movie crossed the line a lot. I honestly can't believe it

Man, I loved The LEGO Batman Movie and I was so sad when I realized we weren't going to get the sequel because of Warner Bros. selling the franchise rights. That is the only LEGO movie I want to see from the LEGO franchise.
The Lego Batman movie is a gem.
Considering the current state of warner bros....losing the rights might've been a good call
Hard to believe that The Lego Movie is 10 years old. It's good to see a film that's technically an advertisement for Lego's actually ended up being one of the top animated films to ever exist.
14:11 Cartoonshi choking for a second
@@Cubeytheawesome it's not a reboot btw it's a completely Canon continuation of the show
The Lego Batman movie might not have IMO been as good in plot as The Lego Movie 1, but the humor still makes it worth watching, and anyone who defends the other aspects have perfectly valid opinions.
Ninjago has occasional low points but it always bounces back. I’d recommend revisiting it.
That's probably the best and shortest way to describe it.
Or we can use emojies: 📈📉📈📉📈📉📈
The oni trilogy following the movie is awesome.
Plus what comes after is pretty good, but crystallized is kinda bad, but it’s still fun to watch near the end.
I haven’t seen much of dragons rising, but it still looks cool.
@@Cubeytheawesome Dragons Rising is really good. Just what we needed after Crystalized failed.
What's downright hilarious is that when Lego moved from Warner Bros to Universal, Emmett and Benny went with them. They changed their names to Mario and Luigi.
Wait did they?
@@saber2802Emmett and Benny’s VA’s (Chris Pratt and Charlie Day) ended up playing Mario and Luigi in the Mario Movie!
Man i still remember when the first one came out. Geniunely miss 2014
2:23 OH MY GOD!! I'd totally forgotten about Clutch Powers, I remember now I used to love that. Boy do I feel old now.
I feel like they should've made Lucy to be close-minded and bigoted towards other types of LEGO

As someone who has kept up with Ninjago pretty deep into it:
The series ends in my opinion around Season 8 i believe was it. When Spoiler:
Lyod becomes the golden Ninja and Garmadon is cured. After that the entire series honestly takes a pretty deep nosedive in writing quality.
Edit: Arguably Nias Spinjutsu mastery i liked post that „ending“
The Lego Batman Movie is my second favorite movie of all time. ❤
With SpongeBob 2004 being number 1 lol

It’s kinda a shame that these movies gradually got more disappointing overtime.

But admit that “not evil” SLAPS
9:47 Oh trust me, if you’ve only gotten through the first three seasons then it’s gotten absolutely insane with the other 13 seasons. Even more Elemental Masters, a ghost possessing Lloyd’s body, a genie or Djinn named Nadakhann, twins with time powers, Garmadon being resurrected after legitimately dying in Season 5, the Ninja basically faced the embodiments of destruction with the Oni, a fire powered snake, Zane being turned evil when he got amnesia after being flung to another realm, the Ninja literally fighting the programming of a video game after being stuck inside it, a Skull Sorcerer, a sea monster, the Overlord coming back again, and now every realm connected to Ninjago being mashed together into one, things are absolutely nuts and I still love it
I hate that we never got a 2019 shevy silverado set with Emmet and lucy

I really liked Lego Movie 2, and I think that's entirely due to... me skipping the other Lego Movies. That was the only sequel I watched, so I didn't have issues with oversaturation, and the jokes didn't feel like they were stale yet. Really happy I had that experience instead. While I could still tell that some of the writing was iffy, I think it landed a lot more for me than otherwise.
