Hey to everyone!!
We are two young adults, Despina 24 and Deivids 25 renovating an old farm house from 1817 in Latvia.
Everything in and out of our house has been done by ourselves with no hired help.
DIY is going to apply to nearly everything in our house. Our budget is tight and that has made us appreciate every “ugly” part of this house and turn it into something new and beautiful.
We give new life to things that others would throw away!
In this journey we are not alone! We are starting up our little Farmily:
7 Goats & 2 Bucks
3 Sheep
4 chickens & 3 Chicks
1 Rooster
and 3 Geese
Oh yeah and our cat Ivi & Dog Keita
Despite our daily problems we are two young people full of joy and happiness, ready to start a new crazy chapter in our life. It wouldn’t be fair to keep this fun just for us!
That’s why we want YOU to also be part of our Farmily!!
We love our very supportive community!!
Thank you so much for the support you are giving us. Every view, like, share, subscribe and financial support means a lot to us. Any support is extremely appreciated!

So happy we got to see more footage of your brother! “The Chicken Whisperer”!😊
Put pallets under the wood. Wiil keep the bottom layer dryer, and the air will flow and dry out the wood quicker. Tested for 40-50 years
I’m not 100% sure about Latvia but in EU in general pallets aren’t free, when I buy something on a pallet, I pay something like 10-15 euro to “rent” the pallet (you get the money back if you take the pallet back to the hardware store but it’s not a hassle you want). I’m not sure people have them around the yard or able to get them for free in Europe like they do in America.
Build your own. The trick is getting air flow under the fire wood.@@minime7375
They are not able to spend money. Everything they do they try to do with what they have.
Deivid explained in the beginning how he made a brick floor first to keep the wood dry.
It's hilarious how various animals always stop by to check out what you're up to.
Hello Despina and Deivids . Got so wrapped up watching your videos I forgot to comment
about Despina's Mother and Brother visiting. Both are hard workers and especially your Mom, Despina, when she was helping to dig out the basement. Back breaking work for any age but she was a real trooper as well as all of you. Totally awesome how creative you are in recycling material on hand and Deivids ingenuity like his tractor creation. Despina has many talents too like masonary work, and her cooking, baking skills and looking after the animals takes a lot of time by both of you ! 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩🥇❤
I love the choice of music. It’s one of the reasons I follow you. Another good day on the home stead.
You guys , get the jobs DONE !!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Brother is very cute.
😊🙏
Brother holding the chicken is so sweet. DAVID your imagination is amazing. You are always creating something. It is so interesting to watch you build something.
Your brother is a really good worker too !!
Thanks 🙏
What beautiful editing! Music is so inventive and appropriate. Congratulations on your creativity.
Your roof may need some attention otherwise the wood will get rained on😊
This is wonderful to be getting it done now. Great job everyone.
Hiiiiii ❤❤❤
A tip, use pallets as a floor!! Works perfect 👍
What about a hydraulic Woodsplitter 😁
Amazing, just one thing left - roof need more cover, there is a gap.
You guys are great togother. I can't wait till you get that other tractor running. People can learn a lesson from you. The more you work hard, the more you succeed.
Glad for you to find splitting ax blessings to family
Nice wood stack. Consider longer video for more ads, greater revenue and YT coverage to more viewers. Thank you for sharing your journey. Blessings.
Great job done now will surely be appreciated when the cold gets here!🤗❤
Just wondering if you are going to address the corner of the barn over the wood? I see some roofing has come off. I was thinking that if you get a lot if rain it will wet all of your dry wood.
Wish I had a nice wood shed like that!❤
I'm so happy that Despina's brother is around to help you guys out. He seems to be a great help ❤😊
That’s a wonderful addition to your working homestead!
Wow !! Prepping for winter - smart 👍
Despina, your brother looks so much like you 💕 !!
Great job David and brother and a years firewood great thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video and can't wait for next video
Looks great👍
You wanted to ventilate the next pile, yet closed the wholes with smaller round branches. Oh well... Anyways thanks for you videos.
You have a good start on your winter wood. Your hard work will pay off 💪👍👌
Well done that’s a lot of wood for the winter and lots more to chop up…
Very impressive! :)
Someone said you need to put some long pins or pieces to stick out and hold on the next layers, so it don't all fall.
Well done…looks and works so well!😊
Good job well done
To keep the row from falling, put longer sticks between the rows at a few strategic places
Exactly, I just said the same, one guy's father had said it and he regretted he had not listened cause it all fell, so then he did it after.
They’re stickies, not sticks🤣
תודה ❤❤❤
Thats a nice big space you created. Perfect for what you are needing it for.
You've sure had some good hardworking help for these latest projects! 😊
Looks great guys!
Wow that's a lot of wood!
Looks good we use pallets to store our wood in our wood sheds we use about 10 cords a year depending on how cold it is
Jauks krāvums, būs siltums kādu laiku ziemā.👍🏼
Çok hızlı konuşuyorsun sanki akkort çalışıyorsun, hiç luzumu yok çok güzel işler yapıyorsun ❤❤
Can you use that chicken wire on the outside wall where the mud wall is to possibly reinforce it or use it as a mesh if you were to put some lime mortar or coating on it if needed?
Very nice ❤❤
Fell trees in winter, process it (split it 🪓) in early spring, stack it in early summer, ready to be used in fall..... Less time crunch, as u do now, u split and stack it in mid August, and u probably have to start use it in 4-6 weeks.... No time to dry, and u work soooo hard with a half good outcome....
As I said, fell in winter, split in spring, stack in summer, use in fall, then you're not having to stress the work.... and u know it's dry when fall comes and u start the wood burning season....💖
Entertaining!
Off to a good start. God bless.
Excellent!
I meant to tell you, your brother is very beautiful!
Thank u😊
Thank u😊
Love it
I hope your family can move there and stay close. The world is so uncertain these days. Do they live in France? I dont think France is so safe in the future but what do I know? only rumors.
wygląda świetnie, ciepło będzie zimą z takimi zapasami🌲🌲
What about the open roof, above the wood -- exposing the wood to the coming rain and snow?
Are you going to fix the hole in the roof.?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
personally i just put firewood under a roof and directly onto the ground. In my humble experience anything else just makes a perfect nesting ground for vermin.
❤❤❤
The longer you leave that wood to dry the better it will be it can take up to a year to fully dry guys food for thought
Practical-and pretty, honestly. Lol.
When are you gonna make a motorized log splitter?
When are you going to put some tin on the end of the barn , roof ? The overhang is getting worse as time goes by and evently all of that will be rotted without cover.
When you threw the cut beam out of the window I called out that famous 18th century sailor’s / convict’s warning - wat chunda - when vomiting over the ship’s side. From that came thevAussie word for vomit - chunder.
Sorry, this post was meant for another channel’s video!
While it might be interesting to see the young, strong bodies, stripped to the waist and working, can I please warn of the long term dangers of sun exposure. Please be careful, I have just buried my wife after a long battle with skin melanoma cancer, she spent many hours in the sun when she was young and her back exacted a terrible toll later in life. That said, you stacked your wood store very neatly, it was a model of organised wood storage, well done.
This is a plea to all who use wood-burning stoves:
Please plant trees to compensate for the wood you are burning. (My late husband and I did this when we were homesteading.)
🌟👏👍🍀💐
Why not have the front open? If u do that, u can always reach the dry wood, to protect the front from rain n snow, u use a tarp as a drape..... As it is now, u are always going to have the dryest wood at the far back, and it's going to be needing to je rearranged every year, open the front and u can take every "stack" out from right to left, when u got a couple of stacks away, u can start fill upp from the right without the need to arrange it every year... Moore order, less work 😁 it's like a flowprocess pick from right to left, fill from right to left.... No need to rearrange ever again....
Do you know if you had stork chick's this year?
Don´t do clickbait PLEASE.
I really enjoy your videos but you both talk way too much for me, specially when about stacking wood, sorry. Watch- My Self Reliance.
LoL ❤ 😮
I enjoy their talking!
Looks good 👍
