Nice and creative. Only one problem with the construction. House or dog kennel needs to be higher then the rained finish ground height .Or the inside floor height of the kennel could be raised to fix the problem. ❤❤❤❤❤ the job👍👍👍👍
This is a wonderful idea! My pups can have a break from the hot sunshine and take a little snooze while I do the gardening chores. Such a pretty design and looks fun to make.
I'm hoping this was just a demonstration of creative building skills and not a real dog house because dogs want nothing more than to be with the ones they love: their owners. If the former, thanks for this demo...I learnt a lot from it, especially the 1:1 sand:cement mix to make the very dark silky mortar.
Dogs are not meant to be closed off from family. They should be part of the family and able to wander around and not put in a corner locked up. If you were a dog, would you like to be locked up in a small area!
If I were a dog, I would stay from people like you. Dogs slept in dog house for a long time, they use to protect the home from the outside for years but people like you turn them into little house birds.
I closed the fence just for symbolism, my dog is still free in my yard, I am an animal lover especially dogs so you don't need to worry too much about them. Thanks for your interest and feedback

I love the idea of using cheap/recycled materials. And I love the creativity in your design. Using the space to grow plants not only makes the whole thing look better but it also utilizes otherwise dead space for food production. The next step could be using aquaponics to grow duckweed, as duckweed is an excellent supplement to the dog's diet. And dogs love it! I love the idea of using the bricks as a floor as the air pockets create some insulation qualities to protect the dog from the cold ground and at the same time keep the dog cold in hot weather. The same thing to the mortar walls as they function as a solar heat battery, capturing the heat during the day and releasing it during the night. My only concern is that the mortar is in direct contact with the wood. I am concerned that the wood might rot quite quickly. Some sort of water barrier would have been appropriate there. Either paint the wood or add a plastic sheet or bitumen. Anyway, the design signals great care for your dog. I love that! Good work. Thank you for the inspiration.

When laying stones in the garden, you do it with a solid base of gravel and on top of that, you place a layer of grit into which you set the stones. Sand is placed between the stones. This allows rainwater to drain and prevents the area from becoming uneven over time. The idea with the small house and plants is not really appealing, but that's a matter of taste. In the end, it looks uncomfortable, and I somehow feel sorry for the dog. But most likely, no dog will ever sleep here.

Why don't you use pallets to make a floor for your dog to lie on to ensure it's not cold and clean? Dogs are pets in every family, they are loved, let's keep them safe and clean.

Cold weather and rain can also break that concrete. What happen to the dog if that happens? Why did you make a roof with concrete in the 1st place? Is it because of the sun? Contries with snow cant build like that. But your skills are awesome and if we only add some sticks in that little house we probably can have our chickens during our summer time👍👍

A lot of effort, nice work I live in a shake-up area and I'm thinking too bad you didn't put on some iron mesh while you were doing the concrete part. But the effort was great and the results are wonderful.

Don't worry about the structure collapsing, before that happens your pet will have di3d due to a lung infection caused by mold spores.

A lot of effort, nice work I live in a shake-up area and I'm thinking too bad you didn't put on some iron mesh while you were doing the concrete part. But the effort was great and the results are wonderful.

What a terrible idea and video….I can’t believe how many people in these comments were impressed …..must be bots…..for one that would be uncomfortable for any dog and lonely …also it’s very small space…..I like how u put some majestic music as if this was a splendid idea but failed to realize u can’t even water those plants your dog doesn’t care about without getting him wet ever time not to mention the fact that the structural design is that of a three year old and in the event of failure your dog would be crushed and killed if he’s inside of it ……waste of materials and time and space …..EPIC failure

What happens to the wood when it's constantly wet from watering the plants? Hope there's no termites around.
Clever design, but I wouldn't expect it to last too long.
Pallet wood has also been treated to prevent termites, its durability I think is quite good, thank you for your interest
