So thankful for this video I'm a hairstylist in the UK and have become obsessed with dreads for the same reason you did, wanting my dream hair and I love the look of dreads but everytime I've put them in my neck begins to hurt, think I was being way to OTT with my sectioning so thankyou so much 🙌❤ also cant wait to get back to work so I have money to buy off your website 😁
I've gotten better and better at doing my own braids and fake dreads over the years, and the most important thing to keep it even for me is to take my time with sectioning my hair. It works best when you have a front and a back mirror of course, but it also works with just one mirror. I actually recommend starting with a small section at the top/front when you haven't done it often yet so you can decide how big or small you want a section to be, aswell as get a good feel for how it feels like in your hands. Then you can switch to the back. Learning how thick your strands feels like relative to their size makes it alot easier to braid the back even without a mirror. I try to always section all my hair before I start braiding anything (it's easy to get impatient) and this is especially important without a back mirror. This is as much for getting the rows neat and even as it is for getting the hair out of the way. For the back, I often braid them over my head for a more comfortable reach.
My friend just got a package from you and I'm watching videos to learn how to braid them in while she's in the shower lol the packaging was so cute!! Edit: turned out cute as hell yes sir yes ma'am
Samy Rae they stay in for about 2 months at a time and they you can reuse them for the rest of your life! And we actually send rubber bands with every order!
How many dreads does it typically take to make it look full? I have pretty thick and long hair so I figured maybe 60? I had real dreads before but they were too big and heavy so I want them more like yours 😘
It depends on the thickness of the dread itself that ur installing examples: hilighter thick dread u maybe only need 40-45 pieces for a full head sharpie thick dreads (the most common circumference size to buy) 50-65 pieces For the pencil thin dreads 80-90 pieces is usually the rule of thumb so thick hair personally I’d get the max amount possibly needed just in case worse case scenario u have left over pieces 🤷🏻♀️
What is the shortest length that this would work on? will they hold as long as the hair can form a tight braid? I'm growing out a buzz and would like to use these extensions in a few months!
Ugh I have mine installed and for some reason they are painful. They aren’t super tight and if I put them in kinda loose they also hurt. Any suggestions of what I might be doing wrong?
How do you keep the scalp hair from looking thin and sparse when putting in these dreads? I tired some at one point and where My hair is do fine and thin (think like a babies hair) it made me look bald and my braids were the size of a small crochet hook.
I just took out for very first set..I dreaded real bad at the roots. Does that happen to you? The bottom ends dreaded around the rubber band. My hair was a hot mess. Do yall have a hard time taking out and brushing out, ever. Mine sucked. I took out after a month for a good wash. It was the worse. Almost makes me not wanna do again. Do yall wash with yours in? Ever get wet? How long do yall leave in at a time
Cool vid. I have a question, when putting in my de dreads they don't lay on top of one another like in the video but twist sideways next to each other. How can I stop this from happening??
Question just ordered from you guys and ordered 3 sets of 5. And i know on the page it says q&a with how many you should get so i got 15 in total will that do a full head
I have been trying for hours to get mine finishes and it's not easy what do you do with the left over piece you can't braid my hair is layered and very long and I braid it as far as I can then I have a piece left
Why are your roots less noticeable than his? Do you have more dreads on your head and him? Just curious thinking about trying them out but I have thin hair and don’t want bald spots.
A way to conceal the roots, I've found myself, is by braiding in really small sections. Smaller than what was seen on his head. That's helped me at least, albeit, I'm sure there's probably another method?
So, I did his and now I am to the point where that SPOT has grown out and my roots are about 2 inches long then it randomly splits into a thicccc piece with multiple strands coming out of it. I also crocheted it to tighten it. But. How should I deal with this?? I cannot easily take out the dread extensions. So..... what do I do because it is choppy looking? Add a bead? Crochet in tiny inch long bits??
Lol cool. . I have dreads under my hair only 15 big ones now cause I cut out like 15 this winter, and now I have like a short hair bob above long dreads..it's a bit akward lol
NEW SUBBIE! I🤟🏼have such a hardass time doing the DE’s on my own head!! I just ordered a shit ton of beauties and had to do get all SE’s. Do u Have any recommendations for me to make it easier to do them myself? 💝🧡💕
I ordered 1 pack from you and they're 2 inches too long. What do I do after I cut at a sharp angle? Will it stay dreaded or do I need to do anything else?
I need answer.. when washing the hair, is it necessary to unattached the extension first or I can wash it directly with rubber bands?? Please I need answer 😭 and thank you very much
Can you make a video of what each pack count would look like on someones head? So we know what look we are going for? What a 5pc looks like and so on and so forth.
Usefull for the beginner. I was looking for some sort of hack to do the brickwork pattern on your own head as i have to install my own dreads and just cant work backwards with 2 mirrors to get my own sections neat. Only if i could take off my own head... lol Story of my life, everyone gets their hair done for free and me, the one who knows how to do it has to pay a professional to put rubber bands in.
I have wanted dreads for YEARS and I’ve started making my own synth dreads since I can’t afford pre-made ones. Anyway.. my hair is to my hips. What would be the best method for installing them so that there’s more dread present and less of my natural hair/braids and also the least amount of damage to my natural hair?
Not sure if my hair is too fine, but they keep slipping. No matter what I do, put them in then 2 hours later they look like they’ve been in for 6 weeks.
My hair is very very long and after watching this video I’m scared it’s not going to work on my hair.... what do you do with left over hair that you’re braiding when you run out of the dread for the third part??
Is there another way i hate that you can see the braid and i dont want elastics in my dreads either because it looks stupid I want them to look like REAL dreads
I don’t just offer dreads, I offer a brand, a community, in every package there is more than just a lame ups package. And people pay my prices because they want all of that :)
I think not using the dread as the third part of your braids so much would look a lot nicer, you can still use it as a suppose that third strand just don't manipulate it keep it straight and work the hair around it it looks much better in the end and it lasts longer
This video was very confusing. Needed more detail. Like “this hair goes over this one and this hair goes under this one”. My hairdresser struggled figuring out how to install my dreads.
These aren’t loccs😬coming from someone who actually has loccs lmao these are not it but folks like what they like 👍🏾 nice video Blessings and favor towards your business ✨
Thank you! All these vids pertaining to installing dread , are crap! That is not acceptable! I do not want mine to look like that! If you want a bunch of crap in your hair, by all means but I juSt want neat, dreads! I should not be so harsh, but I am frustrated watching these videos! A waste of my time! Those just are not dreads, or are not what I am looking for!
Really???? Her hair looks TERRIBLE! Do not use this video as a tutorial. There are plenty of videos from other loc stylists or DIY loc' ers that result in a better finished look
They simply don’t have the hair texture to pull off the look. It’s a reason why this hairstyle is native to and most effective with people of African descent.
Ngl, this video helped me so much. I’m putting in dreadlock extensions for the first time today. So thanks guys!🎀
Sidney Read this makes me so happy!!
Thanks for your tutorial. Do you ever feel itchy after installing them? Also, what material is the synthetic dreads made of that you get?
So thankful for this video I'm a hairstylist in the UK and have become obsessed with dreads for the same reason you did, wanting my dream hair and I love the look of dreads but everytime I've put them in my neck begins to hurt, think I was being way to OTT with my sectioning so thankyou so much 🙌❤ also cant wait to get back to work so I have money to buy off your website 😁
I just purchased mine today! I can’t wait for them to arrive!
THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!
Would you please be willing to do a vid on: how to install with leaving some of your natural hair out🙏🏽💜
Yesss Omg this is what I’m looking for too and can’t find it anywhere
You should do a video in hair styles. I just put my synthetic dreads back in but struggling to find a good style that I love
But how do you attach them by yourself when you don’t have a back mirror and the length of your arm to reach to the back
Clip the entire section of hair on top of the head but leave only the one section your using. Then flip your head over and braid that way
I've gotten better and better at doing my own braids and fake dreads over the years, and the most important thing to keep it even for me is to take my time with sectioning my hair. How many DE dreads were used on him? Thank you for the tutorial!!
How long does your hair have to be for the synthetic extensions to hold?
About how many do you have in? I am looking into getting some and trying to guage how many to get. I have a lot of hair already lmao!
My friend just got a package from you and I'm watching videos to learn how to braid them in while she's in the shower lol the packaging was so cute!!

@@sweetdova822 just a pack for now but even those are so cute to start off with
how long do these typically stay braided in? Are there special rubber bands needed? I didn't think it was as simple as braiding them in!
Samy Rae they stay in for about 2 months at a time and they you can reuse them for the rest of your life! And we actually send rubber bands with every order!
Can you do a video on how to do partial dreads please 🙏🏻
When you buy them how many do you need in a bundle ? For your whole head ?
Hi! Is it possible to use another method than braiding them in?
How long should your hair be? My hair is below the middle of my back, is that too long?
I’m obsessed! I can’t wait to order
