This was my first introduction to Thrice. I listened to the lower quality version and just loved it so much that I could listen to it over and over. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Thrice by a friend for a different album/sound, but I always come back to this song when I'm in a Thrice mood. I wish that there was a full blown cover done by them with full engineering.
@@blixxy1320 I don't really refer to genres in music, Unless Metal. And at that point, I just adhere to the genre designations provided. (Metalheads are very specific regarding how they trace the origins and connections of their music.) I think more about regions and form. Where is the band from? What is the style rooted in? What tools are used? Etc.
I just don't know what's more appropriate: the hidden anger of the original or the open one of this one. they're equal, and that means something from an outspoken beatles fancier.
Thrice is my favorite band. The Beatles version is better, so much work for a 2:44 song, the strings the restraint in the anger you mentioned. It’s one of the saddest songs ever, but like Fur Elise level beauty.
Yeah I'm pretty bummed this isn't on Spotify. It's an amazing cover they did. I'm my opinion one of the best cover songs of all time.. even better than the "back that thang up" cover by "my gay uncle"
Ah look at all the lonely people Ah look at all the lonely people Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice In the church where a wedding has been Lives in a dream Waits at the window, wearing the face That she keeps in a jar by the door Who is it for All the lonely people Where do they all come from? All the lonely people Where do they all belong? Father McKenzie, writing the words Of a sermon that no one will hear No one comes near Look at him working, darning his socks In the night when there's nobody there What does he care All the lonely people Where do they all come from? All the lonely people Where do they all belong? Ah look at all the lonely people Ah look at all the lonely people Eleanor Rigby, died in the church And was buried along with her name Nobody came Father McKenzie, wiping the dirt From his hands as he walks from the grave No one was saved All the lonely people Where do they all come from? All the lonely people Where do they all belong?
Who still in here in 2024?
Came here because there was an interview with Stephen Colbert and Paul McCartney about the best Beatles cover, and of course, this was not mentioned.
I'm here because Spotify doesn't have any of these great tracks, but TH-cam will
If we could only see us now, am I right?
Still better than the original
Looking for the album that this was on

Agreed!!!!!!
This brings me back YEARS. I had this on some weird little mp3 player and was my first introduction to Thrice.
Thank you for a legendary song with a decent quality rip and a shit load of nostalgia
Thrice is/was a very underrated band.
This song is like Hendrix covering All Along the Watchtower by Bob Dylan.
Perfect. Beautiful.
there’s a lot of talented bands that don’t get the respect they deserve just because they’re labeled “butt rock”

So happy to have a high quality rip here
Definitely one of my top 5 bands covering a great song with their own take that makes it amazing!

@@tonyattardo9350 Yeah (yeah, yeah! :) ), there is music that is too beautiful to be easily bearable.
Waiting for this and Eclipse to come to Spotify 😮💨
And Helter Skelter, the Weight of Glory, and she's so heavy.
Still not there. Nov 2024
Fuckin love this.
Why isn't this on Spotify? I was searching for it for a hot minute

Kensrue is very underrated.
I had this cd. Now searching for it on LP. Can’t find it anywhere.
Better find that cd.

The fact that this song was released 19 years ago, and people are still commenting on this cover, is why Thrice is the Greatest Band Ever.
Where D○•° They All Come From?!!
