He was just awesome. That’s all you can say about the man. One of my favorite TV personalities of all time. It’s been five years since he passed. And I still miss him.
as a born and bred Canadian kid of the 70s..Jim Perry was a huge part of my tv watching days way back when..we only got 2 tv channels..I remember Jim Perry very well.. :-)
Back in May of 2016, Jim Perry became my favorite game show host, alongside with Bert Convy. Jim had such a remarkable singing and speaking voice. Rest in Peace, Jim Perry 😭
I heard he was a singer, but I never truly heard him sing until now. After hearing his voice, if I were the host of that telethon, I would've wanted to say, "Well, come on! Don't just sit there, give him a standing ovation! That was wonderful!" And mean it.
I admit I never knew that Jim Perry was a singer. He is as good of a singer as a great host on Card Sharks, and Sale Of the Century. Such a classy guy, and I admit had Card Sharks still been going when I got older I was going to try out for it. One of the best game show hosts of all time.
Neither did I. God bless him ~ he sang his heart out here for a philanthropic cause. And he really had a good voice...l have only started watching Sale of the Century. Am so saddened to learn of his illness and death. He is so charming on the show (and sweet) and pleasant to the eye!
Really? Tell Jim for me I hope he is doing well & thank you for some of the fondest television memories I have from childhood. A child born in 1980 now considers him one of the best hosts of all time.
I went to a couple of tapings of 'Definition' in the '70's (when Jim had grey hair). It was fun and everyone involved were nice. I got some autographs including one from Jim who was a very nice guy; friendly, funny and charming. The celebs I met at that time were Art Fleming (the original host of 'Jeopardy'), Liz Torres (then on 'Phyllis'), William Christopher (Fr. Mulcahy on MASH) and comedian and '70s game show staple Nipsy Russell. Longtime CTV weatherman Dave DeVaal was the announcer.
Jim Perry has a beautiful voice.Such a great singer.Fablous .He could have been a professional singer

What a true gentleman Jim perry was ..would have loved to have met him
Man Jim Perry Knows How To Sing. May He Rest In Peace (1933-2015)
I've always loved Jim Perry, but I never knew he could sing! This is fabulous!
He did backup for Andy Williams in studio sessions.
He was just singing his heart out. He is definitely missed
Knew he was a singer....WHAT A VOICE!
Wow. What a voice. Talk about a King. Jim Perry is awesome.
He Killed it!
I have now idea that he can sing that good WOW
Jim could BLOW!!!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I knew Jim Perry sang but never, ever heard him before. Im just stunned! Thank you so much for posting!!!
"Higher or lower?" This also applies to Jim Perry's magnificent baritone vocal range! ;-)
*faints* - someone should direct him to this clip!! I think Jim Perry has certainly done it justice!
My favourite game show host ever! I loved his charm, his wit, and his easy style. A class act and he shall be missed. R.I.P., Jim.
RIP dear Jim
Jim could have been one of those crooners we often hear about
This was taped on the 1984 set of LMAD? wow.
Wow! Bravo! True class!

Bert Convy
@@shardaiyoung6326 He's another one; underrated singer terrific game show host, gone way too soon!
You can see the multi colored diamond walls
I believe this telethon emanated from the Hollywood Center Studios, home of the All New LMaD 1984-86
Truly awesome.
he can sing Jim Perry & host card sharks & sale of the century
I've also heard that at one time he was the straight man to legendary comedian Sid Ceasar.
Jim is every bit as good a singer as he is a host.
This is 1988
isn't this the set for the 1984-1986 LMAD
wow . . . my hero and one-time crush jim perry SINGS . . . laugh if you will but even sounds like bryan ferry in spots . . .
He sounds like Andy Williams
Jim used to sing sometimes as the host of the Miss Canada pageant.
Jim retired after Sale got cancelled in 1989.
On a recent American Idol, Andrew Lloyd Webber pointed out that no male singer has ever did this song. Looks like he's wrong!
Damn, Jim sure can sing!
Makes sense since Monty Hall was a big supporter of the Chabad Telethon
RIP Jim Perry, great singer in addition to a great game show and pageant host.
I'm guessing 1985 since it's got the LMAD set from that time.
I hear he was actually discovered singing in the catskills.
I never knew he could sing. I always liked Jim Perry! Great game show host! What ever happened to him?
iambernig He Died On Nov. 20th 2015 at The Age of 82 After A 2010 battle with cancer.
Really? Tell Jim for me I hope he is doing well & thank you for some of the fondest television memories I have from childhood. A child born in 1980 now considers him one of the best hosts of all time.
Somehow he should have took Bob Barker's place on The Price is Right.
Maybe?, but he retired before Drew Carey took the reins.
WOW! He's really good. This might have been from a long time ago, but he is a better vocalist than any popular musicians today.
I think I remember seeing Jim sing on an episode of Card sharks. However, I could be wrong, you know.
RIP Jim Perry
R.I.P JIM PERRY 1933-2015
if you find anymore of him singing let us know
That's Heart.... RIP Jim Perry
Isnt the same studio where Jim did Sale? I believe this is taped at NBC.
Was Jm still doing the nighttime version of SALE at the time?
What year was this?
What the Winner's Board in affect at this time on SALE?
Pretty darn good ,bought as good as Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs sing ?
Was that Jerry Lewis?

@WhatsAYak
True stand-up guy!
He beats Patty Farrell (Diary of A Wimpy Kid; Rodrick Rules) anytime!
@MrAaronLadner, and Scrabble.
Kinda cheesy but good
pig199fly200 when you get over the fact that,"hey thats that guy from Sale of the Century" he did a dang good job on the song.
I also asked the same thing
I'll give away a "Q".
