    Just as a tip, Don’t need to separate the track.. next time pull the grease fitting out, collapse the front idler the entire way . Jack up the rear end and pull the track over the sprocket , then pull the slack forward. Unbolt the tensioner ( 4 bolts ) . We did two new ones on our td8 in about 3 hours . Have fun!

    Just a quick word, when you cold start the TD8, lift the throttle of the stop position and put it in the next slot up, just big enough for the throttle to fit.
    that is i think a cold start assist, it dumps more fuel inand should stop thr need for easy start 🤫🤫🤔🤔

      Yeah I’ve heard that before but I’ve never tried it. I need to try it and adjust it!!

    you guys do a fantastic job with working but on filming don't get very very close to the object your working on with the camera other than that you do a very good job overall

    If the pins are as bad as the one you showed you just as well get the track R&R'd, get the pins turned, bushings replaced and new pads where needed or youll be doing this again.

      I think back in the day instead of getting the correct pin for it they shoved a piece of hot rolled in there for a master pin. It kind of wore disproportionately. The tracks are not great by any means but for 100 hours a year we use it she will last for a while.

    next time you hammer an end pin into it . just put tape on the part you hit.. pen is made of hardened steel. and can easily break pieces off with hitting.

    If you would have put that seal in oil in the microwave for a minute it would have went on much easier with less chance of damaging it.

  • @billbrown6889
    @billbrown6889 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just torch the pad bolts off, its faster. You'll probably have to cut the master pin out too.

    Wow that was a hard start. Did you put it in the cold start position? I have the same dozer and Hardly ever need the go juice.

    • @Jacob-zd4gj
      @Jacob-zd4gj ปีที่แล้ว

      Later in the video I noticed you are not in the cold start position. Right off of the bottom on the left hand side is that large hole. Put the throttle lever there it will start way easier. Those engines flood the cylinder with fuel to build compression.

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I’ve never tried it. Not sure why. But I will!!
