Thanks a lot for the help! Like you said the vw manual doesn’t tell you where or what the fuses are, your video is one of the only ones I found covering my sportwagen’s fuse locations. Wouldn’t have known how to open the interior panel without your help👍🏻
One thing with fuses is the blade can get a bit of corrosion building up so they test okay but they’re not actually performing okay I often find you just need to remove them and give the blade a couple of wipes with black wet and dry sandpaper and put them back in and pull them up and down a couple of times to scratch the female side a little bit for a better contact also handy to use a bit of dielectric grease so this is a good quick check but corrosion can cause problems Having said all that I don’t think corrosion can build up enough for the circuit to fail but certainly can adversely affect lower amperage wiring…. Maybe I’m just too fussy
Hi humble mechanic, you see many times now on modern cars where fuses have , no power either side (ground at rest), until the circuit is activated- module control,i have been caught out before, i see the only method to check those fuse-circuits, is by removing them then testing,,,(ps good video),,,
Ha! I know, my owners manual doesn't match the fuse layout in either panel, nor is the fuse list complete. Why oh why did they make it so hard! Ended up getting the big book to see the wiring diagrams myself.
Two things. Show how to set up the Powerprobe first. Connect to batt? Pos terminal? Ground? What? And what if the reason you are checking fuses is your car won't start? If your engine should be running to test the fuses?
Mitch Martin I haven't tested out the 4 yet (hint hint Power Probe Inc. ;) ) But I think the hook is sweet. As soon as I get some time to work on my Cabby, it will be my go to

Could you send me a picture of the wiring diagram for this car? Can't seem to find it anywhere
That is a much bigger task than a simple pic.
+HumbleMechanic my bad I meant fuse box diagram for under the hood

Okay thanks for that
where can I get a diagram for fuses? I have the same car.
+Bill Whittenberger I think just in the repair Manual. Sadly
Good vid as always Charles! I love my power probe 3! What are your thoughts on their latest version?
