Thanks for the video! It gave me exactly the information I needed to replace the broken wiper mechanism on our 2005 Legacy Outback wagon. It's like a new car now! Well, a car that has working wipers, anyway.
Putting indexing marks on the motor prior to disassembly is great if you're just repairing and reinstalling the existing motor, but if you're replacing it with a new motor then putting marks on the old motor isn't going to aid with installing the new one.
Thanks to another video, I was able to replace my window regulator on my 2011 legacy, thus saving me about $300.00. However being an old person and if my wiper motor fails, I may just have to use "RainX", Thank you so much for posting.

After re-mounting the assembly, my wiper arms are scraping the windshield. The arms where the springs are ( the joint of the wiper arm) to bend the arms up. Any thoughts?

Great video.
This helps me decide to have a mechanic do it.
Thank you so much! You not only helped me fix this issue but also gave me the motivation to try to fix other issues in my car.

So what do you do then?

Is it bad to remove the wiper motors before you have a new one? My wipers won’t stop wiping and I want to still drive my car before I get a new motor.
1st!
