I saw a lot of people suggesting the 308 in the AR-10, which would be a fantastic idea. To be fair, the 350 and 450 are good options to start that idea off with. They may just be trying this idea out and working their way up.
I was slow to jump on the 338 Federal band wagon, but dang is it quite the thumper in a compact and efficient package! The older I get the more I appreciate efficient chamberings that get the job done in fine form and fashion with less powder (I reload) and recoil!
I honestly can not complain about any of my BCA models. I worked through the initial issues to make them mission ready and reliable pieces of kit. I would only suggest upon arrival, go through the specs and tighten up anything you find loose. As a former armorer, I just go through anything I buy, a complete dismantle, clean and reassemble to specification. This video is full of very good information. Thank you.
At 3;36 of the video the speaker states 6.5 Grendel when talking about the creedmoore. The 6.5 Grendel is an AR-15 round not AR -10. some one should have cut that out of this outher wise super great jjob this young shooter does. Just subscribed.

Great presentation. It seems everyday someone is adapting the AR platform to another cartridge, but this is a great start to a never-ending conversation. It helps the presenter is smooth and very easy on the eyes.
Im considering one in 30.06. Best all around cartridge on the market IMO. Large choice of ammo. Huge choice of reloading components. Can be used from varmints to brown bear (at reasonable ranges). Time tested... mother approved.
@@a1locc25 About 15 years ago a gunsmith company was doing Short Magnum conversions for the DPMS full size frame. I contacted them a couple years later and they had quit doing that. They wouldn't say why but I suspect bolt strength was the problem. I know Olympic Arms was VERY fussy about their bolt for magnum uppers. So fussy they only allowed one gunsmith to buy bolts to build Mag uppers. That is DTECH up north by the North Dakota and Minnesota border.

20 inch 243 upper with brake. Recoil is like a 77 SMK. Hand loading 10 shot groups around 1 MOA-1.25. Feed ramps did require polishing and bolt head issues. Total worth the money though.
The .243 will reach out to 1k just as easy. Fast twist and 115 grain projectiles. Problem with the .243 is manufacturers refuse to increase twist as it gives up nothing to the 6 creed. Folks fall for hype faster than the did for their spouses. The .260 and 7mm-08 are great cartridges.
No it won’t. Put that into any ballistic calculator. 243 is dead at 1000 and definitely won’t do it just as easy. It has a G1 below .5, and yes I know, it’s G7 that matters.

In times of high demand, the oddball calibers stay on the shelves longer. I believe this is because everyone is looking for 308, 5.56, and 9mm. Many people reload for their more rare calibers and aren't generally looking for loaded ammo, and fewer people are looking for the more rare calibers. I have had lots of people ask me for the common military calibers during the election time droughts. Nobody has ever asked me for things like 455 Webley or 300 Win Mag...
There's a correlation between the personality type that buys a carload of toilet paper and ammo at the drop of a hat, to also being fairly novice at firearms
I'm a big fan of BC and the variety of calibers you guys offer. I would love to see a modular AR-10 pistol design that can shoot AR-10 and AR-15 caliber. Something similar to the modular Colt LE901-16SE.
Most practical and versatile is the 300 followed by 7 mm 08. The 7-08 is that sweet spot for sectional density and ballistic coefficient. 101 and 82 West probably and I don't know how long you can load the projectiles on those standard AR-10 magazines.
As you make these guns end barrels please consider how today the market has moved towards long heavy for caliber projectiles when deciding on the twist rates 22-250 is considered a classic dear caliber out of a longer 24" barrel bolt action. 600 yd prairie dog hunting.

I build and sell AR 10 uppers in all of the WSM magnums and by end of next week I will have for sale a new AR 10 upper in 300 WSM using a Pac Nor barreling SS supper match 25.5-inch barrel - 1-10 Polygonal rifling - will have muzzle break and this is the lightweight model / Price 1700 hundred.

At 64 years old with started guide services business in 1978 plus owning so many rifles in belted magnums bought - sold and still own I am sure you can't even come close to the firearms knowledge I have when you are video wargamer gun educated.

Its just like longer barrels i like a longer 22 to 24 inch barrel with a lighter flutted barrel for a ar set up im after as much velocity out of watever caliber im shooting sometimes. Its like walkimg into a gun store and seeing all the 18 to 20 inch barrels on hunting rifles i want 22 to 26 inch gets frustrating when u spend big time money on custom builds

@ChaplainDaveSparks you cant chamber a 30 cal in a 223/556 gun. What you can do is use an AR15 lower for 7.62x39 but you have to have the upper to match the 7.62x39. So the one lower will work for both uppers. I believe you can also use a 458 socom upper and maybe a 50 Beowolf as those carteidges single stack in a 5.56 magazine. I hope that makes a bit more sense.
How much barrel wear would someone need to have on a 22 250 before AR-10 accuracy fell off enough that your average shooter especially one that stays under $300 or around 300 yd would even notice. My guess is your bank account even as a reloader would run empty well before you had to change that barrel even if your mag dumping on the regular

Im currently building a DMR in 6.5 CM. I ordered an Odin Works bcg. It works for 6.5 and 6 CM. Then you just need a barrel chambered for it. I chose Ballistic Advantage. Those will work on your ar10 receiver set of choice.

I have a BCA ar10 with an aftermarket 24in heavy barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor, which wasn't available stock when I bought. It is great to 1000yd.

You missed a few calibers for the AR10 platform. Here are just a few, the 260 Remington, the 338 Federal, the 375 and 45 Raptor,
They do not offer them, would be nice if they did. I wish they would make them in 6.8 Western. But excited to see that .277 fury.

I’m not a 6.5 Creedmore fan. In my life long experience the 6.5 x 55, in a bolt gun like a Swede
6.5 it’s good for long range although you can hunt with it it’s meant for PRS precision. The 6.5 stays supersonic even at 1200 yards 👍🏽
260 Remington, at one point in time it won all of the sniper competition. It actually is better than the 6.5 Creedmoor.
Imagine using an NAS³ type case (like the 277 uses) for 6.5.

How would you know? Did you put 2000 rounds through the barrel? I have over 700 rounds on a Bear Creek arsenal barrel with no issues on accuracy.
