Thanks for the review, I just ordered it based on your experience with the range. I needed 60 km on flat road, the seller declares 70 km, so your 55 km in hills is a very good number. And I'm lighter too :) Thanks. BTW: 484 EUR here in Slovakia 05/2024
A few days ago, I also received the Engwe Y600 scooter. The day after tomorrow, I will try to ride a scooter for a distance of 35 kilometers, most of the route is on flat ground. This should work. Greetings from Poland.
This video helped me make my final decision to order two these scooters. Best purchase I’ve ever done. These scooters haul ass and are very fun to ride. The battery life on these an amazing. They can go up some pretty steep hills. I’ve ridden them four times now and they are very reliable. The wife absolutely loves riding these now . You can take these things anywhere and you feel like you’re a kid again riding through the neighborhoods and you could stop and check out cool spots on a dime.
I.saw.a.guy in Ft Lauderdale on one....he gave me the whole.rundown.on.it...really an incredible machine for the price. ....hopefully I'll get one too ....great review
Excellent video. I was looking for something like this for me to make up my decision on which one to get. I’ve done some research. Keep up the good work. This is a very great video.
Had purchased an Engle y600 scooter myself a year ago, I love it but after watching many other scooter videos, made me wonder if i can install a Steering Damper on my scooter despite that many steering dampers are not compatible for the Engle i have. Do you have any recommendations which steering damper I should get?
I love your video ,this video is awesome thanks so much for sharing ,my birthday is next month and i was skeptical of this scooter I've never owned an electric scooter before last time i rode a scooter it was a manual one that lasted me 16 years so it would be cool if i got a scooter and again thanks for sharing this video i loved it.
I don't think that this scooter comes with a cruise control, or at least I don't know how to turn it on. I would contact Engwe to verify. Thank you for the question, sorry I couldn't be more help.
true overall it is a good scooter but i went done a few miles of downhill and noticed that the brakes are horrible. one cannot control gradual braking because the ebrake or regen kicks in very strongly and makes standing riding very dangerous. so i wish engwe would have a softer or adjustable ebrake system, problem is by contacting engwe they claim they have no regen at all which from all my experiments with my scooter is clearly not true
@@BikeHombre her is what i do now. i disconnect the rear (left) cable from the brake lever. that mean on the left you have only pure mechanical brake on the rear. on the right lever you still have from mechanical PLUS rear ebrake with regen. so when i go down a very steep hill or for fast braking i use the right level otherwise the left one is fine. try it it makes smooth braking much better. it is kind of tough to disconnect the wire at the connectors, they are tough but you can pull them apart
I just checked out the manual and it says that the scooter can work in temperatures down to -48 degrees Fahrenheit. Very cold weather might affect the range, but the scooter should work no problem. But hopefully there's someone in the comments who uses it in cold weather to give you their feedback.
Nice review! I just have two question... how easy is it to repair a tyre puncture on it, and how is the customer support from engwe? I am confused between the y600 and the s6 at the moment. I have no experience with e-scooters. i am looking to buy one and this one seems convincing. The s6 has tubeless tyres which sounds better but the y600 seems to be better and cheaper overall. I wish they would give a tubeless option for the y600.
Having to replace the inner tube would be a little bit of a pain, but the tires are pretty thick so they should do a really good job from keeping you from getting flats. If you're worried about it though, you can always add Slime, which is a sealant to put in the tubes. Engwe is a pretty well known company, so I believe their customer support is good. I looked them up on Trustpilot and they get an 86% of 4 stars and above. Between the S6 and Y600, I think the Y600 is the far superior scooter. It is a bummer about no tubeless option, but I still get it over the S6. Good luck and let me know if you pick one up!
Great video, I was in doubt between it and the engwee s6... the s6 is more expensive even though it has a weaker engine and battery, I didn't understand... I bought a scooter for my wife last week and I confess that I'm disappointed, on the website it even promises 40km of autonomy, but we're not even getting 20. Will I get 20 kilometers of autonomy in this engwee?
Between the two, I think the Y600 is the better scooter and you can get it for $550 with a discount code. I've never ridden a scooter that gets the advertised autonomy. But since this scooter gets an advertised 70km, there is no doubt in my mind that it would get more than 20km. In my range test I got 55km; but that is dependent on rider weight, terrain, weather, etc. But if you're looking for more than 20km, then don't worry the Y600 would be great. If you decide to buy, let me know how you like it! Thank you for the comment!
For the price the suspension is pretty good, but it’s not amazing. It does a good job in taking care of small bumps and smoothing out the ride when you’re riding on dirt. I can’t think of another off road scooter that I’ve ridden that’s comparable.

It can be used either seated or standing. I prefer standing, so I removed the seat. I took it on a 24 mile ride and it was pretty comfortable to stand on the whole ride.
I measured out the tire width and it is slightly bigger than 3". I couldn't find anything online, so let me reach out to Engwe and see if they can give me a discount code for the EU. If I'm able to get one, I'll respond to this message with it. simple. check the system voltage setting in p-setting p3 - it is probably not set to 48V but higher - i assume your battery voltage readout is around 54V when fully charged so all is good
Mine already came unlocked. Assuming you're on speed level 3 and it won't go over 17mph I would reach out to Engwe, that is something that they should be able to fix or at least replace the scooter with one that is working correctly.
