A less spendy, but equally effective alternative to K18 is Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment. It's a pre-wash treatment that really helps repair damaged/dry hair
Thank you! I really wish I had a better experience with the Redkin Acidic Bonding line. So many people love it. The shampoo and conditioner in particular made my hair strawlike and most likely negated the effects of the Intensive pre-wash treatment. I may try it again but with my own shampoo/conditioner!
Hi Renée🌿 That you are so effortlessly eloquent, generous and wonderfully informative on all things new & clinically supported is tremendously appreciated by those of us ‘tress stressed’ & looking for new treatments. It is thrilling to hear your positivity percolate to the top while addressing a reality that becomes rather daunting to circumnavigate for so many of us. On the subject of colour treatments- are you still loving SEEDBEE WATER COLOURING SYSTEM? I have been enthralled with the results and cannot thank you enough for the recommendation! I did read however, that BANGKOK’s FDA flagged SEEDBEE IN DARK BROWN for carcinogenic compound ingredients …. Like yourself I am using the NATURAL BLACK and am wondering now if it is still deemed safe to use. RENÉE have you discovered anything new in this category, that is not subject to having the colour treatment stripped or mitigated by the presence of minoxidil & penetrative heat & light applications? Thank you sincerely for the documentation of your evolutionary journey 🌿
Hi Zoey, you are a sweetheart. What a beautiful words, I'm touched. Yes the Seedbee was practically a miracle and my main issue is, finding a reliable distributor as it's difficult to come by. I tend to stock up when I visit Korea in Olive Young. Re the Bangkok FDA, I've been trying to reach someone from Seedbee to comment but haven't been successful however I will probably run into them at Cosmoprof and I will ask and keep you posted. From my own research I didn't find anything that isn't present in alot of current hair dyes, not to say that's a good thing. If you're concerned I would suggest using the dark brown which also works on me and covers all the greys as well as the black. Hope this helps, love!
Renée - once again thank you for your generously expedient & comprehensive response !! I am ENTHUSIASTICALLY mixing a fresh SEEDBEE application as we speak lol. If you are still looking - I recently ordered 5 of the SEEDBEE NATURAL BLACK refill boxes from Walmart US- I was told they had just received new inventory😉 ( fingers crossed they arrive as advertised ☺️) Looking forward to the new year & what will undoubtedly be a veritable trove of new discoveries you’ll have for us🌿
Renee, you hair looks amazing and so much fuller than a couple of years ago! Of all the treatments, which one do you think makes the biggest difference? I have the iRestore and I take Minoxidil oral pill, and a buck of vitamins, but thinning continues. Thanks!
Thank you! I used to do everything individually and it took a long time for me to notice change which was marginal, when I started doing it all together, there was a very clear difference. I resisted using topical minoxidil but when I combined it with the iRestore, nutrafol, and massage, my hair started to really sprout. Also, though I don't take it, I believe the oral minoxidil is a vasodilator which has a similar effect to massage so I try to do that as often as I can with the brush. Hair growth is frustrating and requires alot of patience, but the last thing I added was the minoxidil serum which really sped up results. Just my own experience, hope that helps!
Are you using a minoxidil solution or foam? The solutions often contain propylene glycol which can cause irritation and allergic reactions and the foam doesn’t contain it
This is very useful information! I'm using the liquid drops because mousse (2%) was more invasive with my hair. The thing is when I used 2% drops, there was no issue and that also has propylene glycol, it's only when I changed to 5% but i may try the 5% mousse to see if there's any change. Thank you!
@ hm I wonder if one has more PG than the other but in general there are issues w both causing irritation (I work as a scribe in derm so I see this convo daily). that’s interesting about your hair complaint because many complain the liquid is greasy and so they prefer the foam because of how it dries down and even is sort of volumizing since it’s sort of gritty, like dried down hairspray. Personally I let it dry and then comb out any crunchiness and I’m good to go
I have such an issue with scalp sensitivity. I don’t know what to do about it…hard water also makes hair care difficult because everything builds up and make my already oily scalp even nastier 😢
I feel you, the water in NY is on the hard side though softer than most places, but I've been using a shower filter forever - easier on the scalp, hair and my highlights don't turn brassy.
Can you tell me the recipe for that face spray you have talked about that you make at home? I made it quite awhile ago and I can’t remember the measurements and ingredients, I think there’s only 3 , oil, water and glycerin? Thank you!!
just so everyone is aware, be careful with any supplement that has a lot of biotin as biotin can mess with/give inaccurate test results especially for hormone testing (so if you are someone with thyroid issues or are monitoring t3/t4s avoid too much biotin)
Great recommendations Renee. My hair is going through similar issues with the hair sprouting and frizzing up. Which pomade do you use for that? Thanks and I would be interested in your irestore update. I’m still on the fence to get one or not.
Hi love! I use a japanese pomade stick - it's in my Japanese drugstore haul video however any pomade or hair wax stick will work. I like the one i use because it doesnt weigh the hair down. There are also 2 strengths, I use the "natural" one which I find already very effective. I will definitely do an irestore update. Everyone's scalp is different however I find these therapies effective.
😄 Your even cute with your baby bangs! This is a great informative video, Renee. Thank you. Your getting great professional hair treatments! 🙌 I wasn't a fan of Olaplex. Have tried Boldplex. Thanks for your view on Nutrafol. I've wondered about. I use a shampoo and mask on my dry brittle hair that makes a huge difference for me. It's Lisaplex Bond Saver. You may wish to try, yourself! ❤
Great video thanku Renee..I am on my second bottle of K18 but I really don't think I see any difference. I especially dislike not being able to use conditioner before applying it. You didn't mention that you delete the conditioner from your routine when you use the K18 and I am wondering if you still apply conditioner before using it.
Hey love! I always use conditioner, I can't NOT use conditioner. I kind of treat the K18 the way I would a styling treatment. Makes a big difference when I use it on wet hair AFTER conditioning! My hair can take it, perhaps those with very fine hair would fare better replacing conditioner with it. Hope that helps!
Have a look at Abbey Yungs Channel too. I think she uses K18 let's it sit for 4 minutes and then uses conditioner. She said as long as the activation period is met it will work even if you put on conditioner afterwards and rinse it out.
Hi Love, I don't need a prescription, 5% minoxidil is available OTC in the US and at every drugstore. Probably not so in other countries? I'm currently using Him's 5% treatment. I would use the Her's equivalent but it's only available in mousse form which weighed my hair down too much!
Hi love! I'm using Him's minoxidil 5% treatment. Unfortunately Her's only has 5% in mousse form which interfered with my hair too much and weighed it down and I find the Him's is relatively uninvasive.
iRestore is a targeted red light and laser therapy that you use for 10 mins so it's a far more effective light therapy treatment than the laudora but doesn't have the massage or micro therapy. Hope that helps!
Your videos are excellent high quality and very professional! However, I noticed your channel isn’t reaching its full potential in terms of views. As a TH-cam SEO expert, I can help improve your titles, descriptions, and tags to align with the algorithm, boost rankings, and increase visibility. Let me know if you'd like to discuss how I can assist!
I am your subscriber ever since the beginning and I am deeply frustrated that you had endorsed for Qure. They conceal their products being made in China and made return extremely difficult over a small order. Very sad to know my once beloved Gothamista and fellow Hongkonger is doing this to their viewers.

Hi Renee - Please make a dedicated video on Korean haircare and scalp products. They have some pretty good ones.
Hi Renée, do you have hair dye to recommend? Many thanks 😊

That's a bad ingredient, it has been evidenced to harm the endocrine (thyroid issues) system for women.

definitely get a shower head filter- they make renter friendly ones where you don't have to remove any hardware! it should definitely help!
I agree with the shower filter, and I find that my hair will remind me when to change out the filter
@@MACK472 definitely - also pillow cases and even detergents. unfortunately when you're sensitive out have to look at all environmental factors
You could have a water softener unit installed
I feel you, the water in NY is on the hard side though softer than most places, but I've been using a shower filter forever - easier on the scalp, hair and my highlights don't turn brassy.
Would appreciate recommendations on a few affordable products. Thanks
Just a heads up that folks with thyroid issues should avoid ashwagandha and biotin
Biotin can also cause face acne.
Can you tell me the recipe for that face spray you have talked about that you make at home? I made it quite awhile ago and I can’t remember the measurements and ingredients, I think there’s only 3 , oil, water and glycerin? Thank you!!

Thanks for saying this. I would never use nutrafol. Hard to believe her derm suggested it!
It’s also easy to overdose on biotin. It won’t kill you, but I’ve seen people break out in nasty rashes that didn’t go away until it was stopped.
Also Biotin can cause face acne.

Ladies, try Colleen Rothschild’s hair care. I’m 52, Pilipina. My favorite from the brand are the shampoo, conditioner and the hair mask. ❤❤❤❤
😄 Your even cute with your baby bangs! This is a great informative video, Renee. Thank you. Your getting great professional hair treatments! 🙌

Thank you for the rec, love!!
Any recommendations on shampoos for dry scalps
I am going to try to massage my head for twenty minutes every night for six months to see if I get favourable results. It’s free, nothing to lose……
Exactly! It's free and feels really good!

Hi Renee, where do you get the minoxidil from? Is that something that we need to get prescribed instead? X
Hi Love, I don't need a prescription, 5% minoxidil is available OTC in the US and at every drugstore. Probably not so in other countries? I'm currently using Him's 5% treatment. I would use the Her's equivalent but it's only available in mousse form which weighed my hair down too much!
Can u review allies of skin plz 🙏 have been requesting that since long I would be grateful 🥹
Can you please share which minoxidil 5% you are using?
Hi love! I'm using Him's minoxidil 5% treatment. Unfortunately Her's only has 5% in mousse form which interfered with my hair too much and weighed it down and I find the Him's is relatively uninvasive.
Have you tried red light therapy for scalp?
Yes I started using it when my scalp started getting sensitive years ago and it helps with that so much. Now I'm using red light with laser therapy!
💙💙💙
ilyyy
Hi how is irestore compared to the laudora
iRestore is a targeted red light and laser therapy that you use for 10 mins so it's a far more effective light therapy treatment than the laudora but doesn't have the massage or micro therapy. Hope that helps!
@gothamista yes, thank you
@@gothamistahow long have you been using the Laudora? How long until you noticed a difference?
Thanks!
