Well, I went to church this morning and after I came home, I intensely watched your video. I unplugged the USB cord from the back of the MIXER and ran the mic cords from the MIXER to the Toshiba 1800 interface. I followed your directions of what buttons to push, turned up the gain and BOOM! It worked! Very very cool. YOURS is the ONLY video on TH-cam that deals with this precise Behringer mixer and this exact computer program. BTW, we're using an iMac, not a PC. We do Green Screen on PC. Thanks
Thank you so much for posting this and saving me A LOT OF HASSLE and WASTE OF LIFE! I have a Behringer Q1202USB mixer and I was SHOCKED when I compared the great quality compared to a simple pre-amp and USB interface setup. However, when I plugged in the USB part of this mixer OW it was bad. I had lots of fuzz in the background and there was no way to stop clipping. Once I downloaded the BEHRINGER_2902_WIN32_2.8.40 (32 bit but otherwise the same) I followed instructions as you said and now it's ROCKING. A real good bargain too...I spent about 70 Euro for what is both a mixer and USB Audio interface. Really nice and really pleased. Cheers.

Thank you for this, I had the ASIO4ALL driver as I was unable to find the correct one. I use the 1204 USB not FX mixer but the 1204 FX worked for mine. Now it displays in audio settings and in Cubase 11 and actually there is no noticeable latency like I had prior. Great video thanks.

Thanks a lot for this. I was having the same problem using the ASIO driver with mine using Studio One. I downloaded the driver for my mixer and it works great. However, I did encounter one issue installing the driver. It wouldn't work if you have the mixer usb cable plugged in to a USB hub. Once I connected it directly to a USB port on my computer it installed fine. Thanks again!
So it's actually easier to run the mixer cables into the Toshiba 1800 interface, because we get the metronome sound through it, but not the mixer via the USB cord and into the iMac. We went with iMac for the latency problems on PC. Note: I'm a writer and my business partners are a computer tech and a business manager. We have a sound guy, but he's rarely in the hay barn turned studio. We're all unemployed and hoping to make our own jobs recording audio and video (separate of course). We're lost.

The computer tech that works for us said that the USB plug must act like a microswitch like in a guitar with Active Pickups and if you leave it plugged in, the battery runs down in the guitar. I think the Mixer tries to send through a cord if it's plugged into the USB port and if you're not using it, I don't believe that the EXTERNAL interface will work. My mixer is the Xenyx QX1222 USB which is alittle different than the one u were showing but im assuming its not much different as in connecting it etc. I've been fighting with it for about 36 hrs now.. u explained it thank God to where i can understand what i need to do. I bought a Behringer Q802USB a few months back. I was not made aware that I could not EQ audio from the PC while listening to it! That is needed in my Production Task. If I want EQ playback from the mixer, I still must use the Behringer UCA202 between a line input and the PC. That got me upset! What Behringer should have done was had some sort of EQ adjustments between the USB input and run it one line channel, like Arrakis did with their ARC-8 and their other consoles.
As there is so many variations like number of channels, optional USB, optional effects, they don't lay out the same. It would help if you identified the buttons you pressed with a name and their purpose, instead of "this one, that one" pointing at a blurry picture. I've got a Q1202USB (no fx) and that part meant nothing to me.

Emanuel Nicolas Bellanti you won’t be able to record separate tracks virtually. Unfortunately it will only read it as a single track from the mixer. You can record all available inputs as one track.
I was actually going to sell mine, I didn't think I had a use for it. I should set it up and see, again... seems to me it left the signal pretty thin... i'll try again
Great bit of info especially regarding how to get the driver. The only thing you did not cover here is the actual trouble my brother has with the Behringer X2222USB Xenyx he has just brought and that is getting to monitor both the playback and the recording at the same time to be able to do multi track recording.. Now just like your desk here you have to push down that 2nd Red Button as you did to hear the playback of the 1st track you have recorded. The trouble is when you do that is that you cannot record another track. No signal goes through to the 2nd track to be able to record. Now I have found out that when that button is pushed down it disables the input on the USB to be able to record. So there does not seem to be any way to hear what you have played on the 1st track and record another instrument on the 2nd track.
Awesome video, I'm sure it will save me several hours of screwing around. Funny thing, i went out and bought a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 -- not even knowing (until today) my Xenyx was an interface, on it's own. Oh well, I suppose I've have 4 possible inputs now, if need be. I can't believe how awesome this mixer is for so cheap LOL

Whatever you play from the mixer will be transfer to the track on Cubase or any recording software you are using. There are 4 XLR with Phantom Power inputs on the mixer. If you hook up 4 mics to it it should be picked up by the recording software you are using.

I know this was a long time ago, but I have recently bought a Xenyx X1204USB and oddly Behringer still does not make the official driver available, and I'm, indeed, having all sorts of problems with the ASIO4ALL v2.0 driver. Also, the Behringer website has been refashioned and the link provided in this video is broken. Does anyone know where I can find the official Behringer driver for this device?
@@leonelsantos4886 I should have updated this but forgot :) Basically, I have contacted the official Behringer support. Apparently for that I had to join community.musictribe.com, which was kind of annoying, but they eventually were very responsive. Long story short, they sent me the Behringer drivers via WeTransfer, but restated that these drivers are no longer supported and that the ASIO4ALL driver is recommended. For me a clean re-installation of the ASIO4ALL driver ended up working fine, but it's nice to have the Behringer drivers for backup.
If it helps anyone, I found a link to the drivers... I came to this video because I was having issues downloading the correct driver. I'm using the Xenyx 1204USB which I think is a minor predecessor of Xenyx X1204USB. Like everyone else, I went to the Behringer website but all they have now is a link for Asio4all. I installed the latest Asio4all 2.13 but of course that did not help. I finally found the drivers for Xenyx 1204USB in this forum discussion. Michael Shparber (post#14 on page 2) has provided links to the drivers. I have copied the links here: Driver 64 bit www.behringerdownload.de/_software/BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40.zip Driver 32 bit www.behringerdownload.de/_software/BEHRINGER_2902_WIN32_2.8.40.zip Once the driver is installed, everyone gets on their software and try to figure it out. Even after installing the correct driver, I was not able to get the mixer to work. But it was the combination of 'Source' and 'Return' button settings that Christian mentions that made it work. Thank you Christian Trujillo for making this video. This made the difference between getting it done and probably having spent a few days on this getting to nowhere.
João Pedro Hi. Yes, the output recorded volume (when exported to mp3) is quite low. Tried to fix the issue but it has not been resolved. I've since moved to a Yamaha Audiogram 6. Big difference. I think the Behringer is good for live music. I haven't found it to be that good for recordings.
I see.. That makes me really sad cause I've just bought the behringer haha.. I'll try compensate the gain with cubase.. On the other hand, when recorded with another DAW that doesnt use ASiO driver, the output recorded volume is quite normal. Anyway, thank you!

I have the Xenyx 1204 USB (same as yours but without the effects section) and im running through cubase, but i can't seem to get proper sound. I plug my mic into input one, and it shows up in Cubase when i talk into it, but its extremely distorted and i have to have my mouth right against the mic to hear anything. If im a few inches away it wont pic up my voice at all. i really wanna get into recording, and ive had this thing for two years, and i did everything you said, and now im stuck :/

We were told that we needed a mixer and not just the Toshiba 1800 interface to do business with labels. We are disabled and have no experience in such things. We are using the mixer with an iMac and we aren't getting any sound at all with the USB and using the codec choice for settings. I read that we should be using a USB choice instead of the codec. If we go through the Toshiba interface, we still get nothing from the mixer, but we do get the metronome sound. Should we be using the PC instead?
I need help!!!! I own the xenyx 1204usbfx. I host karaoke and dj with this mixer. I use the Phones/Control Room output for my booth monitor. For some reason if I use an effect on any channel, I cant here the effect through my Phones/Control Room Monitor output. I can hear everything except the effects. I could use the tape output but theres no control over the volume. Ive tried everything. Mono/Stereo plugs, Main mix button pressed others off and visa versa. Any help would be great. Thanks
I have latency using the mic to USB to PC speakers, but no latency using the analog out jacks to the PC. Do you have latency? I've tried the 64-bit USB ASIO drivers but no improvement.
Hi Christian..i am trying hard for a solution to record my karaoke through my xenyx fx1202 usb...i dont know why the karaoke track gets suppressed with very less amplitude with wavy sounds low quality sound in audacity when the output is feeded through any of selections like control out or audio out or mainout...but my voice output is better through mic..please advise what to do for setup..regards and thanks
I was hoping I could do that but this mixer does not seem to be able to transfer the physical tracks into virtual tracks, so there is no multiple tracks recording at the same time in separate channels on Cubase. Hope this makes sense :)
I keep running into a problem and I was wondering if you could help me out. Whenever i switch the VST Audio System to the Behringer USB Audio and try to track drums, it appears that Cubase is picking up the sound. However, when I play back and try to listen to what I just recorded I can't hear anything unless I change the VST Audio System back to the Focusrite interphase or one of the ASIO Drivers. Any tips?
S.O.S , I followed step by step and of course it works....i mean Cubase recognize my mics signals and everything, but i couldn´t hear it on my out speakers because i have to change my audio svt sistem. When i set the Behringer one the Asio generic one is gone, so it saves the sounds but i cant hear irt at the same time. In other words i have to save first and then remove the Behringer SVT again to hear it.....Can you help, please?
I have the same problem with the latancy, I have tried allot of times to install those drivers of behringer, but it said "please disconect and recconect the divece you wish to install and turn it on" ... I also did id but it come up again so I always cancel it and I wark with newst asio4all drivers but i have huge latancy.... any ideas? my pc is properly conect with the mixer, so why the driver can't find it?
I'm trying to put my microphone on the 1 channel with XLR cable, but when I record there is not signal. I would record a drum with Xenyx1204 and I need 4 channels becouse I use 4 microphones, but I find just 2 inputs and 2 outputs in "VST CONNECTIONS" .. HI from argentina, i look up to day the internet page and the whole interface has change , i couldn't find that package of programs with the " setup.exe" thats appears in this video.. there are some new bunch of programs like the audacity , podcast and some vst... and of course the asio 4all... but its a generic driver, after install this driver, cubase not recognize this driver as a behringer driver usb... and there no connection at all between the mixer and the pc... is been days and days trying to fix this problems and no success , help please, i use a notebook asus with windows 10 and cubase 5. thanks so much.

Did you buy it already? I actually have an old 1u rack unit I totally forgot about... till you mentioned... i have an MDX 2100 composer dual channel

@@leonelsantos4886 I should have updated this but forgot :) Basically, I have contacted the official Behringer support. Apparently for that I had to join community.musictribe.com, which was kind of annoying, but they eventually were very responsive. Long story short, they sent me the Behringer drivers via WeTransfer, but restated that these drivers are no longer supported and that the ASIO4ALL driver is recommended. For me a clean re-installation of the ASIO4ALL driver ended up working fine, but it's nice to have the Behringer drivers for backup.
Currently (in this video) it's just set to 1 + 2. Can I use all the channels simultaniously though=

I came to this video because I was having issues downloading the correct driver. I'm using the Xenyx 1204USB which I think is a minor predecessor of Xenyx X1204USB. Like everyone else, I went to the Behringer website but all they have now is a link for Asio4all. I installed the latest Asio4all 2.13 but of course that did not help.
I finally found the drivers for Xenyx 1204USB in this forum discussion. Michael Shparber (post#14 on page 2) has provided links to the drivers. I have copied the links here:

Once the driver is installed, everyone gets on their software and try to figure it out. Very Important - pay attention to what Christian Trujillo says in his video (8:40 onward). For a novice like me, that was crucial information. Even after installing the correct driver, I was not able to get the mixer to work. But it was the combination of 'Source' and 'Return' button settings that Christian mentions that made it work.
Thank you Christian Trujillo for making this video. This made the difference between getting it done and probably having spent a few days on this getting to nowhere.

João Pedro Hi. Yes, the output recorded volume (when exported to mp3) is quite low. Tried to fix the issue but it has not been resolved. I've since moved to a Yamaha Audiogram 6. Big difference. I think the Behringer is good for live music. I haven't found it to be that good for recordings.
I see.. That makes me really sad cause I've just bought the behringer haha.. I'll try compensate the gain with cubase.. On the other hand, when recorded with another DAW that doesnt use ASiO driver, the output recorded volume is quite normal. Anyway, thank you!

I have the Xenyx 1204 USB (same as yours but without the effects section) and im running through cubase, but i can't seem to get proper sound. I plug my mic into input one, and it shows up in Cubase when i talk into it, but its extremely distorted and i have to have my mouth right against the mic to hear anything. If im a few inches away it wont pic up my voice at all. i really wanna get into recording, and ive had this thing for two years, and i did everything you said, and now im stuck :/

I've a problem. my mixture is xenyx x1832 and I use Cubase 5. I pressed 2TR USB an other buttens unpressed. But I don't here the headphones. Also while recording. Have I to set anything in the Cubase? I've no idea. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We were told that we needed a mixer and not just the Toshiba 1800 interface to do business with labels. We are disabled and have no experience in such things. We are using the mixer with an iMac and we aren't getting any sound at all with the USB and using the codec choice for settings. I read that we should be using a USB choice instead of the codec. If we go through the Toshiba interface, we still get nothing from the mixer, but we do get the metronome sound. Should we be using the PC instead?
I need help!!!! I own the xenyx 1204usbfx. I host karaoke and dj with this mixer. I use the Phones/Control Room output for my booth monitor. For some reason if I use an effect on any channel, I cant here the effect through my Phones/Control Room Monitor output. I can hear everything except the effects. I could use the tape output but theres no control over the volume. Ive tried everything. Mono/Stereo plugs, Main mix button pressed others off and visa versa. Any help would be great. Thanks

I have latency using the mic to USB to PC speakers, but no latency using the analog out jacks to the PC. Do you have latency? I've tried the 64-bit USB ASIO drivers but no improvement.
Is it possible to record multiple tracks separately instead of one track?

Hi Christian..i am trying hard for a solution to record my karaoke through my xenyx fx1202 usb...i dont know why the karaoke track gets suppressed with very less amplitude with wavy sounds low quality sound in audacity when the output is feeded through any of selections like control out or audio out or mainout...but my voice output is better through mic..please advise what to do for setup..regards and thanks

I was hoping I could do that but this mixer does not seem to be able to transfer the physical tracks into virtual tracks, so there is no multiple tracks recording at the same time in separate channels on Cubase. Hope this makes sense :)
I keep running into a problem and I was wondering if you could help me out. Whenever i switch the VST Audio System to the Behringer USB Audio and try to track drums, it appears that Cubase is picking up the sound. However, when I play back and try to listen to what I just recorded I can't hear anything unless I change the VST Audio System back to the Focusrite interphase or one of the ASIO Drivers. Any tips?
S.O.S , I followed step by step and of course it works....i mean Cubase recognize my mics signals and everything, but i couldn´t hear it on my out speakers because i have to change my audio svt sistem. When i set the Behringer one the Asio generic one is gone, so it saves the sounds but i cant hear irt at the same time. In other words i have to save first and then remove the Behringer SVT again to hear it.....Can you help, please?

I have the same problem with the latancy, I have tried allot of times to install those drivers of behringer, but it said "please disconect and recconect the divece you wish to install and turn it on" ... I also did id but it come up again so I always cancel it and I wark with newst asio4all drivers but i have huge latancy.... any ideas? my pc is properly conect with the mixer, so why the driver can't find it?
I'm trying to put my microphone on the 1 channel with XLR cable, but when I record there is not signal.
I would record a drum with Xenyx1204 and I need 4 channels becouse I use 4 microphones, but I find just 2 inputs and 2 outputs in "VST CONNECTIONS" .. Probably I don't understand where I have to put the microphone on!

HI from argentina, i look up to day the internet page and the whole interface has change , i couldn't find that package of programs with the " setup.exe" thats appears in this video.. there are some new bunch of programs like the audacity , podcast and some vst... and of course the asio 4all... but its a generic driver, after install this driver, cubase not recognize this driver as a behringer driver usb... and there no connection at all between the mixer and the pc... is been days and days trying to fix this problems and no success , help please, i use a notebook asus with windows 10 and cubase 5. thanks so much.
