Real reply: It also came from Sc1 that a lot of players advise Terran players to between siege and bunkers. (don't forget scv! They gonna help repair) So some developers would like to put this in the campaign to help newer players defeat the game.
It's mainly cannon and bunker rush defense behavior. The elite AI basically has map hacks, and will know when you start building something near their base, even if it's outside their vision, and instantly start attacking it with workers.
Ahhhh, the strategy of the second attack: wait till the last and then, send all your battlecruisers to rush your enemies. I see this strategy survived through time since SC BW. Love this, man, I traveled to my childhood. 😍
I saw this video on my suggested hoping it would be the Terran Strat of "With bunkers and siege tanks, we can hold off pretty much anything". It's what we all think of when we think of Terran Vs Zerg and I love it when it is shown this well.
Going into this wasn't expecting the strategy to be outlasting your opponents rather than say picking them off as quickly as possible, but great work, was extremely satisfying to watch!
its a nice idea to outlast because in 8 players map a lot of them have a "teammate" on your side, so it gives you more resources than any other AI if you kill that one quick and take over. Terran just has the best siege units also. Pretty cool. If anything maybe doing 4 elite AI with the same strat might be harder because they would have more resources and could probably force you out eventually? maybe.
@@Humstuck it will end up being the same thing. You still have a base ratio of one to three. You still need to trade extremely efficiently. Every marine you build should kill 3 in return.
@@Humstuck well, if the res are the same, then no, if anything it's easier, because the supply cap collectively is less, so it's a 4 to 1 and not 7 to 1 maximum presence
Picking off one of the AI's early before it could use many resources was critical though, as that shifts the resource exhaustion ratio from 7-1, to a 3-1 - which dramatically increases the number of losses he can afford over the course of the game.
Similar to the battle of Gettysburg on day 3, the defenses were just barely reached and just for a few moments slightly breached, but not quite enough to keep pushing and make a breakthrough.
@@Leonardodeboni0406to be honest, that position was so smooth, you had advantage by higher ground, and barricades that couldn't let enemy tanks get them with siege mode

I once did this but I was a bit more aggressive, went terran air. Made planetaris with scvs and a wall of sieges for defence and then started flying around with banshees/vikings/liberators. As long as you have some spare scans you can safely see the enemy coming and unless its a giant blob army or a marine wave. You can then use your libs to lure the army to a high ground or a cliff to snipe away at em. Also use these guys to make the enemy ot blob up in 1 giant dead wave and to snipe expansions or base peices that are unguarded. This way the ai's spend even more cash to rebuild. But good vid.

one of my best games was a 3v3 ai and my two teammates left cuz they thought we wouldnt win and i solo dolod it and won through attrition. i was terran and i was playing exactly like this. siege tanks and rines + missle turrets
This was a blast to watch, pun intended. I'm not big on Terran gameplay, but thisbeas epic. My strategy has always been with protos and build a mine field of defense turrets while building carriers in the back hidden then flank the enemies from the shadows of the edges and work my way through.
That is a variant of the Terran star tbh, which I respect as well because I used to play Toss back in BW. I found that Terran on this side was more my thing. Something about holding out against larger forces just appeals to so many eh?
Hmm, never tried 1 vs7... I think the "worst" we've played is 2 vs 8 and 3 vs 7(CPUs can't handle more(yes, CPUs, not GPUs)). But we always play on maps with maxed out (commonly "gold") resources, meaning that turtling is possible, just not adviseable(as it leaves the AIs with taking over ALL bases and basically spamming infinite armies at you at an insane rate from every direction). And usually much larger and LESS defendable. It's interesting to see how different the defense is. No forward artillery to break up attacks. Not using the flank of the entrance to add firepower concentration for some odd reason. That's a major flaw. And only a fraction of what we would consider enough SAM turrets. Yeah, sure the depots are way too weak to block the entrance, but they're also the easiest way to do it early on. And there, the north expansion lost easily because of not enough air defenses. And later they keep getting attackers in there. Air defenses and some siege tanks on the right of the entrance would make it much easier to defend. Especially as it would make it harder for AIs to spot uphill. Huh... I wonder how you would manage on one of my maps... Never ending minerals and gas... For everyone. AIs just keep coming until you can damage them enough. Base defense tends to get "intense"...
Man, that was satisfying to watch the whole video, sad to say but im just campaign player, all i can say is terran is the most brutal defense against all races and your so good at keeping your units death count so minimal i can see your units is always 200 to 198 or 180 is also satisfying keeping the units being safe the funny part was getting rushed by the workers from the start 😂😂
I just did this! I have been trying for weeks, rushing opponents until today when I realized that the way to do it is just to outlast and control the very last mineral lines near your base (but outside of it). I did it a bit differently though, the enemy AIs are easily manipulated if you have Liberators. They won't go into Liberators range, so just camp 1 Liberators at the ramp helps you save money on a lot of Siege tanks.
