But there were still a bunch of zealots stuck behind the goons as well that were being completely useless. Yeah, it was a pretty bad attack from Stork.

20+ zealots ran into 15 mines, melted instantly. Then multiple shuttles did some fancy drops, but the dragoons just all got splashed. Very solid defense from Flash, and maybe Stork is overconfident
Good focus fire on the templar it seemed like. Also Flash did a little flank with 4 vultures, so part of the army autoattacked that splitting it up. Some of those got pulled down towards Flash's reinforcements.
Stork has seen this exact situation a thousand times before and he like Artosis said knew that he should come out of that with an easy win on the battlefield in that spot; but the game doesn't play itself and worse yet sometimes the game plays against you with ai movements, pathing, and clunky units. That's probably why he stayed in the game so long at the end, he was pissed that he lost such a huge advantage and that his army was lost in seconds when he thought he was just going to sledgehammer his way through that fresh expansion.
He didn't start any air upgrades I think and that would only have worked if stork fooled flash long enough and hid his air units which is near impossible at this level
It’s funny you’re so right about how bad the position was but my brain has trouble ever believing flash is not favored. Even when he loses it looks so hard to actually finish it. I’m outrageously impressed by how quickly flash is able to remove a toss from the map as soon as he gets some map control. It’s just insane you blink and it’s all collapsing for toss. The little move outs he does after insane eco openings are crazy impressive too. That’s a decision making that is hard to develop.
Wow that hold from Flash was nice! He brought the rest of his army up to flank Stork's dragoons and used a group of vultures to snipe the templar as they came out of the shuttles. Very nice tactics at play.
Wow, what a big turn back for Flash. I thought Stork has a big lead in the opening of the game. The huge advantage from the worker count plus the supply difference. Very dramatic moment starting 17:20 and he decided to move out so instantly. He finally knew how to get his winning instinct. Great decision and tactics! Thank you Artosis!
wasn't like the biggest throw, but it was pretty bad. When someone of flash's caliber turtles like that, you gotta go arbiters or carriers. That attack was just brain dead. It wasn't close to being close. It instantly lost him the game on the spot. He saw the whole thing, he had multiple opportunities to make a better decision and just yolo'ed in. It was a bad play, but it wasn't like he was insanely ahead at that point. He was just ahead.
Artosis, your breakdown of the game, options players have, and resoning behind their decisions make the game very enjoyable to watch even though I don't understand the stratagies or even play the game.
Ah man... it can be so so frustrating as the protoss player. Stork really needed to deny that 4th base or tech to carriers. The protoss ground army just melts too fast.
Yeah it surprised me that Stork charged into that. I haven't played Brood War in years, yet I knew that was a terrible position to try to rush. Going pure protoss ground against an entrenched terran with a good concave is suicide.
Key differences I noticed on this game and when Artosis plays, he completely ignored the Reaver drops and went on counter-attack, instead of pulling all units back to base and try to hunt down 1 Reaver. And instant counter attack again after killing the goon army, and focuse killing all the stormy boys. Two big moments that made Terran actually win.
As someone who played mostly sc2 and never followed sc1 pro scene, I now have come to appreciate the history and the mechanics explanations that Id normally would think is redundant
