    Sounds good but on the stock exhaust video clips they are definitely leaning into the throttle and short shifting it. Going more right to the floor and winding it out with the ATAK

  • @tonemack2981
    @tonemack2981 8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    I honestly would not change the exhaust. In my opinion the car actually sounds better with the stock exhaust in sport mode. It sounds throaty, aggressive, but yet smooth, like a silky snarl. Its like the perfect balance of aggression and finesse. The borla sounds good too but its a little too clunky and has a little too much raspiness (if you will) for my taste. But it really comes down to personal preference for you to be satisfied.

    Loud exhausts on a Mustang is a requirement to serve as a warning for impending crowds that are about to get hit. Loud exhausts = safety, for the crowd.

    • @Tsoldier4
      @Tsoldier4 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Saleen Mustang The gt350 might be the "least American" production Mustang ever produced. The styling of the s550 platform is very European like. The engine is extremely European in design, so much so it almost sounds like something from Masarati, and also since when does an American V8 rev to almost 9000 rpm? Then you have the handling, with the suspension setup, and finally the overall purpose of the gt350 which doesn't really match what a traditional muscle car's purpose is supposed to be in the first place. This Mustang is being compared to cars like the M4, the Rs5, or the 911, and that's something you could never truly say about any other American muscle car produced before.

    I removed resonators and can hear a difference. Especially close valved, sounds better for sure. Open sounds similar to stock open, but folks that also have removed their resonators have heard them both and all feel the Borla is louder. I like the fast it keeps the same tone. the 2.75 throughout should help guys that are tuned, on e85, and or running long tubes.

    Your site says this cat back system will dramatically increase horsepower and torque but then you have a Q&A section that says the cat back system won't increase any power, just sound. As somebody in the market for a GT350 cat back system can you elaborate on these conflicting claims?

    • @borla
      @borla  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Thank you for reaching out. Typically, on an otherwise stock vehicle, you will not see significant gains with an axle-back or a cat-back system. The horsepower increase would depend on the car's fuel management system's ability to provide the right amount of fuel to match the extra air flow. An additional 5%-15% increase in flow is not unheard of. Here is the link to our FAQ page with that information. Link: www.borla.com/support/faqs/
      In the case of the GT350, we did actually manage to pick up about 18 horsepower with our cat-back system.

    • @michaeljuliano5716
      @michaeljuliano5716 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Borla Performance Industries was that 18 horse power gained stand-alone or did you need to add a tune?

    • @borla

      It almost is. The typical flat-crank engine (ala' Ferrari) is essentially two four cylinder engines sharing a common crank (literally since an I4 typically uses a 180 degree crank). The GT350 is slightly different since it has to use a common intake plenum so the crank pin arrangement is a bit different so its not far off from sounding like two S2K engines.

      Granted nothing can really sound as mean as a 2,3, or even 4 valve 4.6L, but by changing firing order Ford has managed to make very powerful, small V8s. I don't care for the sound of a new 5.0, but 420hp is what matters. And a 526hp 5.2L is even more impressive.

    • @lealandyoung

      Blame the gub'a'mint! Vehicle safety requirements forced manufacturers to place the fuel tank(s) ahead of the rear axle to decrease the chance of a ruptured tank and pinto inspired funeral pyre. The signature sound of the fox and SN95/New Edge cars was due to the placement of the mufflers under the rear seat. It is what it is and was a good move in the name of safety but it came with a price. Now the company that can somehow figure out how to replicate that old school sound will have Mustangers beating a path to their door! Also the GT350 employs a flat crank so there is no way even if they had produced this engine back in the SN95/New Edge or Fox days would it have sounded the same.
