Amazing tutorial! One issue I found with the 1.0 update... The Fuel-Power Generators need to have their clock speeds changed to 60%/150MW. They changed the output and input amounts.
Thanks for pointing that out, didnt realised it. But you can also just use 5 Fuel-Power-Generator and have 1 running at 80% Clockspeed (If your are not making packed fuel, you can just use 5 of the Fuel Power-Gernerator). This saves some materials. The System should work fine with this setup.
@@Danny191 Probably, before the update you needed 8 Gens now you need only 5 (with one set to 80% if you do packed fuel). They Changed the Input and output. In Update 0.8 the input was 12 Fuel per minute. 12 x 8 = 96 and the other 4 from the packaged Fuel = 100 Fuel per minute. In the Update 1.0 the input is now 20 Fuel per minute! Now you need 4 gens running at 100% and one on 80% 4 x 20 = 80 80 + 16 (16 from the one underclocked to 80%) = 96 Fuel per minute and the other 4 from the packaged Fuel = 100 Fuel per Minute. This should work other wise look if you are producing 100 Fuel per Minute and check if your rubber and plastic isnt cloging up your system. Make some containers to store a bunch and then you can sink the rest if you want.

Great video. Everything is very clear and you present in a very engaging way. As I just unlocked Oil, I'll be setting up this exactly as you described in the next hour or so.
I followed your guide which was great by the way! However, I thought I'd be clever and load the fluids from my logistics-floor underneath. As you can guess I was having a bunch of problems with pipes not being full, and the buffer never filled up. I spent a while this morning learning more about head lift and found out that my under-floor loading of fluids is the problem. Looking forward to redesigning it and removing this issue. Thanks for the GREAT guide. I'm a about to tackle a huge oil-fired fired power plant on the west coast. :)
When you said you wouldnt make a logistic floor at the begining of the video i told myself "well i'm gonna try and do it anyway! The factory look really clean like this! I love it!
Subscribed! So many amazing tutorials. I had this game during Early Access and have only just started playing it again, I never really got into it before because after you get the space elevator built, everything becomes too complicated and I keep making lots of mistakes and having to rebuild the entire line.
Just FYI. When 1.0 of satisfactory releases, the fuel generators are going to produce 250MW instead of the 150MW, so you'll get a lot more power out of fuel generators than in the video
Love your guides. I made this last night. Watched this video a few times makins sure I followed it correctly. Been trouble shooting why 4 of my fuel generators are not getting enough fuel to operate.
Really well-made guide. Made transition to oil smooth as butter. I centralize everything & unfortunately the pure oil patch was like 2 km from my base but I'm planning to use the train in the future to bring the goods in. Because of that I'm wrapping my head around the computer production. Seems like you need buttload of plastic, like way more than I'm currently producing. If my calculations are correct, for 5 computers per minute (2 manufacturers, 7 assemblers with one underclocked I'm going to need 290 plastic per minute - That's crazy!
I'd be curious to see how you would do it with a logistics floor. I'm attempting it modifying this guide as required, but it can be tedious at times. BTW. Thanks for these videos.
I loved this guide and how you split it into phases. I built all 3 phases and found myself low on fuel for my fuel generators. I'm not sure if its because of an update or any changes but my main issue was not having enough crude oil to supply all 10 refineries. I just decided to add a second oil extractor that hooks into the last 5 of my refineries. That solved all my problems. Hope this helps someone else!
As a follow up to this, I now realize that crude oil deposits come in pure and normal forms. The pure forms literally double your output. So when you place an extractor for this factory you need to have a pure crude oil deposit or 2 normal deposits.
Really great video and much better than every other satisfactory content creator. Very easy to follow and no time wasted, only the important parts are shown. Keep it coming, these are great!
I love these videos. I need more lol. It’s getting confusing with so many things to keep building at the tier 5 and 6 stage. I would really love some videos about the machine that uses 3-4 different items to build one item. Keep up the good work
Excellent build brother! Confirmed it still works in update 8, with the help of two additional pumps; One between the fuel buffer and generators, and also one between the oil extractor and the input manifold on the row of 10 refineries. Also, the oil extractor should be overclocked to 125% to match the 300 input of the combined 10x refineries. With some careful pipe and belt maneuvering, I was able to make the design slightly more compact. Mine is occupying a 16x17 foundation space.
Maybe I'm just not far enough along in my own progress, but I would like to know how you managed to float above your factory. You have a point of view in building out this petroleum plant that I don't know how to achieve.
great guide, just a little thing that would help me as a noobie a lot is to know how many materials are required for it. since it is far from my main base i would have to gather it all in one time
hey spectrumdad.. enjoying your guides so far. really nice made =) im struggling with this one at 1.0... would u mind doing an update or just tell me here what i have to change that it works? :D
If you just turn oil into fuel you can send the polymer resin into the sink. you get more electricity that way too and less headache. then just work on plastic and rubber later.
Love your videos! I just did this last night and it does not work at first because I didnt realize you underclocked the packager haha! Great content!! Looking forward to many more!
If you dont under clock the packager though would that stop you having to flush the buffers all the time? My oil rig is ages away from the rest or my setup
Could you shoot something like a perfect layout for the rotor factory or the same just for the modular blocks? That would help me a lot. I build my world from your layouts and even though I think I understand how it works, I would like to take a look at these more complex recipes such as rotors or modular blocks.
Now in the 1.0 the Oil Generators need more Fuel, from 12 to 20, u can get 5 of them working with this guide instead of 8 or have 4 working and the fuel cans, thanks for the guide!
Another great tutorial. You're my go to for satisfactory stuff man. Keep it up. You're super clear and succinct. You can see how much people are flocking to this.
I do a similar setup but I use the larger fluid buffers for the fuel so there are less trips to flush the system. To the left of the storages, I also set up drone ports when drones become available and can then fly the rubber and plastic to where I need it. Trucks work well, too. Edit: You did mention upgrading to the larger buffers later on
Why do you need to add a pump prior to the packager? Wouldn't either the refineries or the fuel storages provide enough head lift to push the fuel into the packager?
Thank u for good video. I just wanna give 1 advice. can u put all of buildings to make setup at the video start. In this way we craft all of items and make setup more quick.
Quick suggestion: when you use two numeric values in columns x rows, it can get a litte bit confusing when explaining or even saying it out loud. I'd suggest using numbers and letters, like in chess. So you can be more precise and feels more natural to say it too! Awesome guide, loved how you divided them into phases and this is a big transition that can frustrate a lot of us!
No because they are currently using all the fuel being produced. But you will need a lot more power. Usually you will want to unlock a few alternate recipes to create bigger fuel setups. I’ll be making a video on that.
I just started playing around Christmas and your layout guides have been invaluable. Keep up the good work and please keep going with some more layout guides and tips!
This video really helped me understand the creation of oil and fuel. Very, very, nicely done. You have another follower my good Sir. Thank You for making this game really enjoyable.

Really enjoy your work! Your video is very helpful when starting out in this wonderful game! Great ideas on how to start my factory builds. Would love to see how you did your production floor for the oil layout.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.. have a sub. honnestly this game is soo beyond my math comprehension and oil production has been a killer for me. thanks for a wonderful guide
The way to go would probably be to not ship oil, but make the things like plastics and rubber there. Then use trucks/trains to send them over. You could belt also if you really wanted to
The only issue I get is with the generators, the last 4 struggle for fuel. Ive let the pipes fill up entirely but they always end up going empty after some time. Im not sure why. Same thing with the rubber. The rubber always needs more fluid, but they take too much. Everything is level and shouldnt need a pump. Any tips?
I would turn off the first couple refineries in the oil line until the last machines fill up, then turn them back on. Then keep an eye on your pipeline. If done correctly it will keep up. What you can do is put a fluid buffer raised up before the first refinery, even just 1 foundation higher. That will help with potential backflow.
Great video. Could you make a video about how to make a basic steel parts setup or a modular frame setup. Your videos are very easy to understand and I hope you will continue.
I’ve just unlocked fuel generators so this is going to be my next power project 😂 I might have the generators on top and have the fuel come up from a lower floor, just to have it nice and compact
could i overclock all these by 100% (including fuel packs to 8 per min) mark 2 pipes and fully overclock the oil and it should function the same with twice the plastic/rubber/power?
Hi there I like your content has helped me out alot, did have one question I've followed the guide but oil is having a hard time being produced due to the oil making it for plastic what would you recommend
I have this setup working, but i keep loosing pressure on the heavy oil residue line. Its the same level as the outputs to the first line of 10 refineries, and I have it piped just like the guide. The numbers make sense (150 - 150 with the underclocking) but two of the fuel refineries arent keeping pressure. Any advice?
I think I've figured out how to do this exact set up in 1.0. It will need a total of 6 somersloops (excluding the ones you needed to get the 300 oil per minute for the Oil Extractor). I prefer thinking in desired result>how Im getting that result because it makes it easier for me to understand what I need to do and how I can get it. 8x Fuel Power with one underclocked to 80% need 156 fuel per min + 4 min for package- 160 fuel per min 3 refineries producing fuel, both at 100% and 1 with 2 "S" produce 160 fuel per min The 3 refineries use 180 heavy oil residue The 10 refineries produce 180 heavy oil residue- to do this you need to modify the rubber refineries. Adjust 1 refinery with 2 "S" and clock it to 75%. Add 2 "S" to 1 rubber refinery and leave at 100%. This will cause the 5 plastic refineries to produce 50 heavy oil residue, the unchanged 3 rubber refineries will produce 60 heavy oil residue, the adjusted 75% 2x "S" rubber refinery will produce 30, and the 100% 2x "S" will produce 40. The 10 refineries producing plastics and rubber total use is 292.5 oil. So you can underclock to meet that if you'd like. Leave a comment if it worked or not😀
For me in 1.0 I can't keep all 3 refinery's fed. They keep stalling for a moment as they're not getting enough heavy oil residue from the 10 initially refinery's. This means I can't even power 5 generators with one at 80%. As the MK1 pipe is has a max capacity I'm not sure I can even power slug an initially refinery to give it a boost....
The initially refinery's produce 150 heavy oil residue a minute. The refinery's converting it into fuel (3 of them) consume 60 heavy oil residue a minute for a total of 180 a minute. How do you solve this issue?
I only just realized this with the heavy oil residue, but we have ten refineries making 100 HOR a minute going into the secondary refineries that are asking for 150 HOR a minute, so we won't quite be making 100 Fuel per minute. I only caught this after making this setup a second time and I'm not 100% sure that I am even correct. Do we just need to underclock the secondary refineries to correct this?
No it’s actually 150 because the rubber makes double the heavy oil residue than the plastic. The plastic only makes 10 each but the rubber makes 20 for a total of 150.
Super amazing video. This is going to be my next project. Something I might have missed but once this is all setup like this, do you still need to flush the pipe network at all after this? Or is it all handled automatically at that point (theoretically never need to touch anything again)?
I followed this to the dot and the pipes arn't flowing properly I use more fluid from the buffer using the generators? I am confusion, preciate the vids though big time!
Great design! But for the 1.0 numbers on the fuel generators got changed (or earlier idk). They now use 20/min on 100%. I build 4 generators and used the rest of the fuel on 20 packed fuel per minute. But overall great guide!
For 1.0 this still works, except you need to only have 5 fuel generators and underclock 1 to 80%.
Cheers ❤

Thanks for the GREAT guide. I'm a about to tackle a huge oil-fired fired power plant on the west coast. :)
When you said you wouldnt make a logistic floor at the begining of the video i told myself "well i'm gonna try and do it anyway! The factory look really clean like this! I love it!
Subscribed! So many amazing tutorials. I had this game during Early Access and have only just started playing it again, I never really got into it before because after you get the space elevator built, everything becomes too complicated and I keep making lots of mistakes and having to rebuild the entire line.
Just FYI. When 1.0 of satisfactory releases, the fuel generators are going to produce 250MW instead of the 150MW, so you'll get a lot more power out of fuel generators than in the video
the way you explain while you are doing what you do is awesome and very absorbable. thanks!
You’re videos are the best guide for this game. Simple, straight forward and clean. Thank you so much
You are a gentleman and a scholar.
I would be so lost without your guides, thank you so much for this.
Also the idea of splitting this guide into 3 phases is also really good :)
Love your guides. I made this last night. Watched this video a few times makins sure I followed it correctly. Been trouble shooting why 4 of my fuel generators are not getting enough fuel to operate.
Figured it out. I forgot to set the packager to 4 per min.
Your tutorials are much appreciated -- I would not have been able to advance without them - JB (living in Guatemala, age 70)
Yea it's nuts. Always need more Plastic ! :)
I like building myself but following this was like following Lego instructions, honestly very satisfying. Thank you sir.
thank you so much for making this. i was struggling hard trying to figure out oil and this solved everything
Bro, your videos are a LIFESAVER!!!! You explain this stuff so well. Thanks!!!
I'd be curious to see how you would do it with a logistics floor. I'm attempting it modifying this guide as required, but it can be tedious at times.
BTW. Thanks for these videos.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial! Question, do I need a pump after the fluid buffer before the generators?
This is such a great game, but its tough to learn. So pleased I came across your video, love how you present your content - thank you.
very good just did this both with the coal generators and this in the northern Forest. but in u8 seems to work with this too, great work dude
Learn something new every day. I didn't know you could hotbar customizer presets.
As a player on the spectrum I love the guide and appreciate how straightforward it is to follow ∞
Glad you enjoyed it ❤️
I loved this guide and how you split it into phases.
@@whisstler also over clocking it seems to fix any hiccups
Really great video and much better than every other satisfactory content creator. Very easy to follow and no time wasted, only the important parts are shown. Keep it coming, these are great!
I love these videos. I need more lol. It’s getting confusing with so many things to keep building at the tier 5 and 6 stage. I would really love some videos about the machine that uses 3-4 different items to build one item. Keep up the good work
Thanks! I plan on making videos for that for sure!
definitly a usefull video i build this yesterday and am happy with results keep up the good content
Nice, glad you got it to work. I did also manage to make it more compact in a play through myself. It's hard to show compact builds in guides though.
Maybe I'm just not far enough along in my own progress, but I would like to know how you managed to float above your factory. You have a point of view in building out this petroleum plant that I don't know how to achieve.
great guide, just a little thing that would help me as a noobie a lot is to know how many materials are required for it. since it is far from my main base i would have to gather it all in one time
Great video again! An steel guide would be great
Thanks! Yep I’ll do one.
hey spectrumdad.. enjoying your guides so far. really nice made =) im struggling with this one at 1.0... would u mind doing an update or just tell me here what i have to change that it works? :D
I love you so much i feel so acomplished after building this
If you just turn oil into fuel you can send the polymer resin into the sink. you get more electricity that way too and less headache. then just work on plastic and rubber later.
Love your videos! I just did this last night and it does not work at first because I didnt realize you underclocked the packager haha! Great content!! Looking forward to many more!
Thanks, glad you found the problem !
If you dont under clock the packager though would that stop you having to flush the buffers all the time? My oil rig is ages away from the rest or my setup
@@MetaDataAutomation most likely. But you can’t forget to underclock it when you put the fuel generators in or you are going to have a bad time :)
Could you shoot something like a perfect layout for the rotor factory or the same just for the modular blocks? That would help me a lot. I build my world from your layouts and even though I think I understand how it works, I would like to take a look at these more complex recipes such as rotors or modular blocks.
This is the best channel i ever see doing tutorials keep doing them like this!!
Hope you have more guides coming soon! theyre incredibly helpful for understanding the basic layouts!
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it :)
Once everything is running, can I overclock the fuel generators at all for more power or will that cause issues?
No because they are currently using all the fuel being produced. But you will need a lot more power. Usually you will want to unlock a few alternate recipes to create bigger fuel setups. I’ll be making a video on that.
hi there is there a blueprint ??? thanks for your awesome videos hanging in there day and night :) best regards from Thailand
HI Men! It's amazing how you explain all! Thanks for the simplicity
Love your stuff man!! Keep on keeping on!
Thanks :). Glad you enjoy my content!
Glad I was able to help :)
If you dont under clock the packager though would that stop you having to flush the buffers all the time? My oil rig is ages away from the rest or my setup
Awesome Guide! Thank you for this very easy to understand guide of rubber and plastic !
Excellent and helpful video! Thanks for the walkthrough!
Really enjoy your work! Your video is very helpful when starting out in this wonderful game! Great ideas on how to start my factory builds. Would love to see how you did your production floor for the oil layout.
about to try to tackle this today, sadly though, i can't hover, so all that perfectly aligned goodness is going to be a pain :(
Thank you, thank you, thank you.. have a sub. honnestly this game is soo beyond my math comprehension and oil production has been a killer for me. thanks for a wonderful guide
How did you power the first phases before you got the fuel generators???
What is the best way to get the recources to my base (2km)? First the proces for recources or a long pipe line?
Hi I’m new to game , when built what power do you set the refineries up to to get going or do the refineries power themselves when working?
I use the coal power I already have going usually to get going but once the whole thing is done, it’ll power itself.
Thank you for getting back to me , and great guides mate
How do you unlock the smart splitter I’ve looked at the tiers and the awesome sink shop and haven’t found them?
MAM. You want to look at the caterium unlock line.
Thank you ❤
Awesome guide for a new player like me! Loved that you split it up in phases and great explanation of things!
That works :)
These video's will definitly help new player learn how these things work and let the progress further into the game. Great video, keep it up :)
Thanks :)
could i overclock all these by 100% (including fuel packs to 8 per min) mark 2 pipes and fully overclock the oil and it should function the same with twice the plastic/rubber/power?
Do you have a guide for a aluminum setup?
Hi there I like your content has helped me out alot, did have one question
I've followed the guide but oil is having a hard time being produced due to the oil making it for plastic what would you recommend
Any advice?
I'm not sure if you've worked it out but you now need to overclock a pure oil extractor to go from 240 to 300 to support 10 refineries (30 oil each)
I think I've figured out how to do this exact set up in 1.0. It will need a total of 6 somersloops (excluding the ones you needed to get the 300 oil per minute for the Oil Extractor). I prefer thinking in desired result>how Im getting that result because it makes it easier for me to understand what I need to do and how I can get it.
8x Fuel Power with one underclocked to 80% need 156 fuel per min + 4 min for package- 160 fuel per min
3 refineries producing fuel, both at 100% and 1 with 2 "S" produce 160 fuel per min
The 3 refineries use 180 heavy oil residue
The 10 refineries produce 180 heavy oil residue- to do this you need to modify the rubber refineries.
This video is super well made, really informative and gave great tips on how to set oil up well. Thankyou for the awesome vid!
I like to use the coke to power coal plants in the area with the extra going to the sink
Super amazing video. This is going to be my next project. Something I might have missed but once this is all setup like this, do you still need to flush the pipe network at all after this? Or is it all handled automatically at that point (theoretically never need to touch anything again)?
Nope if all is setup properly you shouldn’t have to flush ever after you have the fuel setup.
I followed this to the dot and the pipes arn't flowing properly I use more fluid from the buffer using the generators? I am confusion, preciate the vids though big time!
They changed the input for 1.0. Either just take off a couple of generators or underclock every generator to 60% where it intakes 12/minute.
Great design! But for the 1.0 numbers on the fuel generators got changed (or earlier idk). They now use 20/min on 100%. I build 4 generators and used the rest of the fuel on 20 packed fuel per minute. But overall great guide!
