Girl sic run! Now for a question. Do you hate your skin? I ride big down hill in Oregon and have had some massive crashes. Some my fault, some not. Those elbows are way to pretty to end up in the Skin Graft Unit at some hospital. Wear some gear, your one pebble, one deer jumping out in the road, one falling rock off a cliff face, one idiot driver, and more away from a big tumble that would change your life for the worse. Protect yourself nothing fun is safe!!!!
I do the same but.... backward! ...... at night during my dreams! lol

I had a couple of guys on skateboards dust me on my road bike in Colorado, couldn't believe it at first but it was very cool. I got behind them and watched in awe. I stopped at the bottom and we all met and talked, wow!

One is wearing G-Forms thats a pretty bad choice to take for downhill. They will protect your knees from bumps but you cant slide on them, youll destroy them immediately if you do.
More like neoprene knee gaskets. Tempting fate.

They need to protect their knees because that is where they will get all the skin needed for skin grafts for the rest of their body.

I just started "skating" (literally, 5 days). I freaked out in a bicycle line with an inclination of 0.5%. Holly molly, this video takes one's breath away
Don't go too quickly my friend. Build comfort and intuition by riding your board gently at first. When you step outside your comfort zone (and you must step outside your comfort zone in order to learn), don't go too far all at once. If you're itching to ride down a hill, find a gently-sloping parking lot or a road that gets very little traffic (like an access road to a power line or cell tower on a hill) to practice.

Sickness! I grew up in SoCal during the early skater days. These girls would own half of my friends in the downhill scene. Epic!
As somebody that started skateboarding in 1964, these girls are fluid and polished. Totally have the high-speed wobble under control. Wonderful camera work!

I can’t tell if that was a serious question or not. You take time to find hills and roads that fit your experience yet still push your comfort and boundaries until you feel comfortable going 50mph. It takes years
@@iamedyson I would say the time varies from person to person. It will take some longer to feel comfortable at high speeds than others. I think it also depends on the steepness AND windiness of the road. Bombing a closed road on steep hill that's fairly straight and doesn't require any speed-checks is a bit different from an open, windy road on a more gentle hill.
I practice going down parking garages. Edit: plz be safe and do it on a day the garage is empty. A buddy got a tramatic brain injury cuz he ran into a car.

You girls are AWESOME!! Amazing skills you have and no fear. I remember when I was younger back in the 70's with my Logan Earth Ski board, Bennet Pro Trucks and Road Rider racing wheels. That was a popular board back then. One time I was flying down a steep hill picking up a lot of speed and feeling on top of the world then it happened, "speed wobble'. I remember waking up in a ditch, covered in blood and saying I will never do that again. Back then getting a speed wobble was a terrifying thing as a skate boarder. I guess skateboard technology has come a long way since then. I miss those days and miss my youth, Great Times.
I promise you 99% of riders are getting wobbles on this run if they try. Tech may have changed, but a lot of this is technique. Being on RKP trucks on a longboard setup for downhill certainly helps, but most of this is rider skill, I’m pretty new to downhill, I would wobble my way to death here probably.
@@TechWiz717 Pilots have a thing called PIO, pilot induced oscillations, where a control input makes things worse, and worse..... sounds like the death wobble sort of.

The difference between courage and recklessness , is that the first one uses her brains and wears a protective motorsuit . One pebble on the road is enough to cause big regrets . For the rest , respect .
Yeah, I thought, "They must have walked that entire run and inspected for debris or they're living one one edge too far for me." But, totally impressed!
Pebbles don't do anything to longboards, especially at these speeds. Hell, I ran over a frog once and barely noticed.
@@SausageFingers420 I don't long board and was also concerned about debris. I know what a brick on a highway at night can do to a motorcycle! But as I watched the vid, I saw how the two women got really low and used their steel lined gloves to spread their center of mass out and down. Also grabbing the front of the board seemed to help stabilize a skid. Really great stuff, but still hair raising! 👍👍

@Xxx Xxx It's not a 100% thing my guy. It depends on how fast the skater decelerates while losing control and the operators reaction time and following distance. It also depends on if the vehicle operator knows they're going to crash (e.g. wobbling or harsh turns). Obviously it's still risky - anything can happen and it can all be a matter of a half second, I'm just saying that it's not quite as one-sided as you explained.
I really wish there were more girls riding and doing other extreme sports when I was a kid. So awesome to see this, you totally owned it!
