the funny thing is when i see someone do a no magic run and they use shouts. always some people getting into if they count since shouts can be absorbed as if they were magic.
I remember as a kid being *amazed* at how your basic weapons change visually as you level up, and those changes are based on how you've played. Now I know enough about games to understand it was just some preset parts shared with the unique weapons, and which part you got was randomly chosen from a pool based on mundane things like how many times you'd used a spell. Sometimes I miss the magic of being a kid who didn't know how games work behind the screen.
On the one hand, I enjoy exploring online wikis of some of my childhood cRPG games to see what things I never discovered. On the other, it indeed sometimes removes the magic.
I hope that mechanic comes back in the next game, but instead of randomly choosing one look, if you’ve fulfilled multiple things that can change your weapon, you choose what it can look like.
You can still enjoy it, ya just have to immerse yourself in the game. It's easier as a kid, but us adults can still do it. We just have to remember that we can't play quite as long.
Ah Fable 3. The one where I spent most of my time working a job at the blacksmiths and Keeping my tenants houses repaired because the crackheads living in them can reduce it's quality to shambles over the course of two hours.
fr and since im an adult now i finally figured out how to get to the good ending. all you gotta do is buy and rent out every property in the game and wait forever:) boring but fulfilling knowing i finally beat the game the way i’ve always wanted.

That isn't a great description, as when the doc gives him the weapons he treats'em the same way. It's comparable to the vigor tester, as you are required to spend your points before moving on
I remember being amazed at this game as a teen and my best friend playing it after me and going ".... really?" I get what he means now but back in the day it was fun, I didn't try to connect plot points nor was I aware of how to poke holes in some areas that would ruin immersion (fireball on the torch). I didn't have a lot of cynicism as a child which might explain my enjoyment.
Bro I loved “Become the only landlord in Albion, become a master blacksmith, master the lute, and bake the shit out of some motherfucking pies to buy the good ending.”
For me I did get everything and it took about 20 hours of the computer running just to accumulate about twice the gold you need to get the all survived ending.
I loved fable 2 growing up. One of my favorite games and still is. I played fable 3 for the first time last year and it was one if the most disappointing game experiences I have ever had. It's not even bad it's just that 2 was so good.
2 is great I always murder the families and leave the kids in crippling debt by buying there houses and raising rent which in turn lowers prices of weapons and equipment and items and I'll stock up on everything then go to the town over which holds my 5 wives in each corner of the map
I started playing fable 1 when I was very young and played 3 when I was growing up and had the opposite experience, hearing everyone talk up fable 2 to find out that it is my least favorite fable games was a big let down.
I enjoyed fable 3. Yeah, it was stupid that you could get the good ending (saving everyone) by just throwing money at the problem...also, you didn't fail. You unlocked a skill, you did not upgrade it. By getting fireball you added another skill that you can't level up (via upgrading)
So, this is "Fable 3 : ˇMurica" run: 1.Explosions (fireball) - check 2. Guns - big check 3. Money making - check 4. More guns - check. I think this is the peak level of gameplay. Thanks, Nerbit!
I remember getting the special edition of Fable 3. It was a big book with secret compartments and it came with a pack of fable themed cards, and a seal of fate flip coin. I was so disappointed when I finished the game in a few hours 😂 The time skips when you're preparing for the Darkness were awful, it starts going a day at a time then 7 days then 50 then 100 days have gone and its time for the final battle
Also you do see striker again if you spare him, once in the final fight to the darkness, and once in the siege up to the castle. He will appear as well as various villagers you helped.
"And, much like children, the first one is a happy little accident, the second was planned yet a little flawed, and the third is a massive disappointment who most just try to forget." Not in my "family"; me and my sibling are both accidents _and_ massive disappointments.
I know I'm late on this. But my take is that a proper run only starts when you have actual full character control. Tutorials like the radroach at the beginning of Fallout 3 fall outside of full character control.
If the game forces you to spend a Guild Seal (like getting Fireball) then it should be an exception to the rules of the run. Same with the first spell in Fable 2. Also, there are axes in Fable 3 but they're really just hammers with wedge shaped bits for the hurty part. Edit: I liked the sword called Mr. Stabby. Gain money and evil morality each time you land a hit.
I don't know what to laugh at 12:33, the Camp mccaran reference, the walter white, or the fact that one of the places in Fable 3 is literally called mourningwood.
Since you mentioned voice actors, I had a bit of an ideia for a new vegas run, to beat it as Liam o'Brien, you can only use weapons/techniques from characters that he has voiced. Also maybe Yuri Lowenthal since he actually voices the male protag in screams. But yeah everytime since I have found out these 2 voice like 75% of new vegas I cannot unhear it and I can only think about the voice of ben 10 and a league of legends character in the Mohave Bonus points if you the kill people that have the voice of the person you are "using" since there can be only one (includes named and unnamed npcs)
To me, fable 3 felt like it tried to be too experimental, and the level up system felt more like it was designed more to give you options in combat rather than just straight buffs. Interesting idea to say the least.
I remember spending so long trying to finish Fable 2 and having so much fun doing so. Spent ages going through carefully planning things and thinking about my actions. And then Fable 3. 5 hours. Thats all it took for my 12 year old me to finish that. Like it took no time at all. And I think thats what upset me most, the fact that I beat it in one sitting. Though of course the *other* things within the game were also disappointing. And this video brought it all back.
Sure, Fable 3 is flawed but I always loved it and completed it several times (for comparison: till this day I have never completed Skyrim's main quest or the Dragonborn expansion despite having over 1000 hours playtime). And say what you will, the game has one of the most incredible voice casts ever. Even though it's super corny and makes absolutely no sense later I'm always getting goosebumps during Michael Fassbender's "This is my Albion" monologue.
Somehow I completely forgot that you've done this challenge! As someone who loved the first and second games, when this came out I was staying at home sick for four weeks and I played this over and over and over. But then, like a creeping realisation, I had enough, and when after some time I tried to play, I just couldn't do it. It's a giant shame. Seeing the Road to Rule, I remember thinking, surely there's much more path and progression beyond the castle.
It's a valid run since the game forces you to use or perform a normally run restricted action. It's like saying you can't Knife-Only OG Resident Evil 2 Scenario B because you have to equip and cutscene Super Tyrant with the Rocket Launcher.
As Christmas looms ever closer, I thought I'd re-comment my suggestion from the Jason Vorhees video. Suggestion for a Christmas special! Can you beat [insert game] as Santa Claus? In a game that has player inventory and droppable items (like a Bethesda game), before you complete the game, you must decide who the "nice" characters are, break into their homes (or the nearest approximation of a home) and leave them a thoughtful gift, without getting caught. Optionally, you could also leave coal (or a coal substitute) behind in the homes of "naughty" characters, and/or consume any milk and cookies (or other consumables) that the citizens kindly left out for you, Nerbit Claus. The scope/number of characters you do this to, and the game the challenge takes place in is up to you!
Yea, theres for sure different levels of quality but its perfectly fine to still like them lol never forget the deez nuts guy got ten fuckin percent of votes one time.....
As the third of three children, I 100% agree. My poor mom, three kids, three boys, mind you, born roughly 3 years apart. It must have been absolute mayhem for about 10 years in a row back to back.
First mandatory unlocks shoulod be counted as getting to your base level, i.e. you start at -1 Level and the tutorial "gives" you stuff by having you unlock it.
Funnily enough I only played Fable3 when I was an adult, having played TLC before, and very much enjoyed it. I thought it was going to be "Fable 1 but modern" and was pretty happy. Still haven't tried 2 yet.
The nostalgia. I played this sitj, little brother when it was on games with gold. I loooove Fable 3 despite its flaws. Thank you for this video, have a great day. I'll leave a sub lol
Such an interesting way to play the game. The lack of weapon variety never bothered me because the spell system was my favorite. Having two spells that you could combine for fun results was always nice. Which is unfortunate in a run where you cannot unlock or use any spells.
Eh, spells aren't skills in this game. They're gauntlets. The Prince/Princess can't use magic naturally. So it shouldn't count as a skill. It's equipment, more akin to Ocarina of Time.
Been playing it lately, if you want to get the most of fable 3, try to make friends with the NPCs and take your time playing the game. Made me appreciate the game much more. Actually saw different weapon morphs beside the balverine head for the sword lol
A possible holiday themed run could be beating your Bethesda game of choice as Santa. Melee only, as St. Nicholas was known for throwing hands/ whacking people with a staff, and you have to reverse pickpocket a gift to every friendly npc you encounter at least once. The gift would have to be something appropriate though, like candy or a toy. Maybe it could be fun!
"... because even *we* can’t gain access to that ability..." I guess Fable 3's main character is the magical dunce of the family. He can’t even use a single spell without magic gloves doing it for him!
I once forgot that "The Voice" quest was the DLC quest and after I started it I got stuck in a glitch where you can leave a part of the dungeon. And my last save was me entering the dungeon. So I had to restart the game.
I've recently 100%'d the game with my friend, with our last achievement being to collect every weapon in the game. Now normally one would think that this would be fairly easy. "Oh just make multiple saves and pray to RNGesus that you get a good roll on the weapons you need either in the shops and chests" Well yes but no. You see, in Fable 3 the weapons are listed in certain qualities with four specific weapons being ranked as "Mythic". What makes these weapons special? Well other then that they can only be obtained via earning a million gold and opening the chest in the Sanctuary or acquiring all 50 silver keys and unlocking the chest at the castle, each copy of the game will only give you 2 of the 4 weapons. You heard me right, it doesn't matter how many saves you've made, what route you've taken with your character, or when or how you open those two chests, once you've gotten those two weapons that was it. Your best of luck was to go online and hope that someone was willing to trade or give away their mythic weapon so you can earn the achievement. This took me and my friend YEARS to get, over a decade even to get. Thankfully the Fable community down at Discord was very generous and helpful and gave us the mythic weapons we needed to finally earn the achievement and 100% the game at long last.
Am I in the weird bracket of liking Fable 3 as much as I do? I haven't thought about this game in years and remember it so fondly but now I'm at a loss
"I hope this is the festivy content you subscribed for!" he says, and I smile while looking at the Subscribed button. Only to notice that I, for some baffling reason, was not yet subscribed! A sacrilege of the most heritcal kind, I beg your pardon my Lord Nerbit.
I honestly loved 3. Totally glitched the money exploit with a plugged in controller over night on my 360. The first time I heard "Radioactive" I thought of this game 🤷♀️
I loved this game growing up and what's funny is I liked most of the things you complained about. I knew as a kid that you could breeze through the promisses and still get the good ending, but I liked that they left the option to work your ass off, Because even though it didn't matter in the end I would always do it because I liked the challenge and I always liked the grind when it comes to video games. And the soundtacks for this game are great as well and are some of my favorite songs in video games. Please don't think this is hate, I love your videos.
" Okay since it is December and Christmas time I have came up with a very hard and probably impossible challenge for Skyrim. I call it- "Can you beat Skyrim as Santa Claus?" basically in this challenge you have to be santa of course and give gifts to people. (Basically finding a poor person and giving them a gold coin and also giving your companions gifts as well. Yes you can use companions.) You also have to be good as well and do quest that are only good. Cause Santa is not evil. So, I recommend siding with Ulfric but if you do the empire that's fine as well. If you can find a candy cane weapon mod and a Santa costume mod that can Help. You can use magic as well because Santa is a magical being after all. But you can only use one shout- The bend will shout from the Drgaonborn dlc. Since there are no reindeer in Skyrim, riding dragons is your best option. Also you can fight people but not kill them. And that's basically the challenge. If you decide to do this challenge- you can add in your own rules as well. Anyways this video was very cool! You did a fantastic job! "
I was expecting many things from a Nerbit upload. A reference to "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" was *not* one of them. Well done, you classy human being!
Teenage me would disagree that there's no differences between the endings. First time I got to the end I was so unhappy I wanted to go back and do it better, but the game autosaved at a point where it was too late. I decided to start the game again, completing it with the best ending in just a few hours. These games really are easy, and when you know what you're doing, very short.
Daddy nerbit, can you beat Fallout 4 while opposing smoking? Basically you use the junk jet (and name it something like "Smoking Kills") and only use packs and cartons of cigarettes as ammunition for it. Also when you see an npc smoking, you have to kill them. I think this could make for a funny run
Next one fallout 4 without increasing any skills, special and perks So no companion perks No comics perks No picking perks after lvl up I can already see nerbit saying i need enough perception for reflector perk but then realizing what this challenge is about
Fable 1 if you are old enough is mostly for nostalgie Fable 2 is a game that played a role in placing the xbox 360 on the map to play this game Fable 3 was different with the new features which does make it play differently but still keeps that balance of running around doing what you want and stil being interested in the story Fable 1 2 and 3 are great Games and deserves equal love
I definitely did not have many problems with how this game went. I don't even have the benefit many in the comments do of this being a 'childhood' game. I played this in my 20s. It honestly did just feel like more of the same. Which is fine by me. Sometimes I don't want games to add more and more features if they can find the fun essence of the game and just focus on that. The pairing down of weapon choice didn't really matter to me as all one ever did in previous games was be as good or evil as you could stand to get the best weapons for your slots. Anyways. Appreciate the trip down memory-lane, Nerbit. I'm eagerly awaiting the next Fable as well so I will be curious what you do with it when they finally release it. Whenever that may be.
26:10 So, this must be an update to the game because in the version I played, Theresa admonished me for being nice and gave me demon wings. And when I did things Reaver's way, she praised me and gave me angel wings.
Just to add salt in the wound when it comes to the whole morality system of being a ruler; there’s an achievement for saving the lives of everyone called tough love. You’d think that would mean you have to be a tyrannical leader at the cost of your promises. But if you find the entire bank out of your own pocket, which is possible through buying so much land and taxing as much as you can get away with without too much effort… you’ll still get the tough love achievement. So there’s really zero point in being evil in this entry whatsoever. Game design is my passion.
I love to see you do cyberpunk 2077 with only the slaughter o matic I went and did it on my own twitch and it was a super fun run but since I’m a small streamer not many seen it I love to you try the run love all the videos keep up the good work
Fable 3 I think was the first video game I owned myself, that and halo reach. I know the game ain’t perfect, even back then kinda, but it will always have a place in my heart
Fantastic to see the trilogy of Fable without skills be completed... though hopefully it becomes a quadrilogy when the Fable reboot eventually releases. The 3rd game might be the weakest of the three mainline Fable games but it's still a good game and a fun experience. 2:00 - Huh, that is true looking back onto to it. The first two Fables have very tepid openings in an attempt to build up things (a nice idea though with some decent results here and there) but Fable 3 has a much quicker pace and sets things up with good impact with Logan and that serious decision early on. 3:46 - Another quick answer to the videos question then. 9:36 - You, Walter and Jasper leaving the castle because Logan is clearly evil... then you proceed to murder hundreds of innocent guards and neither of the two companions bats an eye. 12:08 - The guards tried to stop the maniac from going around and shaking the hands of every towns-person but it was to no avail! 18:54 - You went through Fable 2 as Master Chief; I don't think the steampunk-esque robot is too out of place 21:07 - Love the music and edit for this scene. It gives the extra grandeur that such a fine moustache deserves. 24:15 - Really disappointing you don't get to fight Logan. He's also the descendant of the Fable 2 hero and thus should also be capable of magic, so it'd be really cool to fight a boss who can do all the things you can do (well in this run, that wouldn't be much, but I mean in terms of what you could unlock).
Unlocking tutorial spells should be counted to same non-degree as using Shouts in Skyrim runs.
Yeah alot of people seem to feel that way
@@Nerbit13098 i feel like if you have the ability to glitch past it and or just not using it if possible

Yea i dont think he understands what leveling is honestly but we still love him
And now I have the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny in my head 😂😂
Funnily enough I only played Fable3 when I was an adult, having played TLC before, and very much enjoyed it.
I thought it was going to be "Fable 1 but modern" and was pretty happy.
Still haven't tried 2 yet.
I'd say for future runs: Mandatory does not equal failed, since you had no choice in the breaking of the rules.
That smooth Ultimate Showdown reference 🤙
The mustache, metal gear solid joke was very funny. Good work.
The nostalgia. I played this sitj, little brother when it was on games with gold.
I loooove Fable 3 despite its flaws.
Thank you for this video, have a great day. I'll leave a sub lol
I really shouldn't love Fable 3 tho. Nostalgia hits hard lol
As a third child, I can confirm, that intro is The Truth
"... because even *we* can’t gain access to that ability..."
I guess Fable 3's main character is the magical dunce of the family. He can’t even use a single spell without magic gloves doing it for him!
One of the many things reconned for this game.
9:49
A LEMON DEMON REFERENCE IN THE WILD!?!? I love this channel XD
was honestly expecting you to put Abe Lincoln's Face onto the NPC's when you mentioned being able to enslave the town
I always pog for the ultimate showdown reference
Nerbit nice ultimate showdown reference lmao
Possibly my favourite of the 3 fable games, tied with 2. I do adore this series, thanks Nerbit.
There are more than 3 in the franchise.
If there is no glitch around it and it’s impossible to progress, it doesn’t fail the challenge. Hand holding tutorials are the bane of challenge runs
9:49 wow, was not expecting an ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny reference
I love to see the 2nd and 3rd get a remake .
So, our hero is AroAce because he's too thrifty to open some treasure chests?
Daddy nerbit, can you beat Fallout 4 while opposing smoking? Basically you use the junk jet (and name it something like "Smoking Kills") and only use packs and cartons of cigarettes as ammunition for it. Also when you see an npc smoking, you have to kill them. I think this could make for a funny run
Next one fallout 4 without increasing any skills, special and perks
So no companion perks
No comics perks
No picking perks after lvl up
I can already see nerbit saying i need enough perception for reflector perk but then realizing what this challenge is about
Fable 1 if you are old enough is mostly for nostalgie
Fable 2 is a game that played a role in placing the xbox 360 on the map to play this game
Fable 3 was different with the new features which does make it play differently but still keeps that balance of running around doing what you want and stil being interested in the story
Fable 1 2 and 3 are great Games and deserves equal love
This is the only Fable I played when I was younger so this was fun to watch and remember playing it with my little brother :o)
9:49 Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny reference in current year? God bless
For the festive content i give rate this video 17 chestnuts out of 2 beef wellingtons. Good job Nerbit!
Nerbit you good sir are a bastard for making me replay these games again
(Playing the first on for the first time and loving it)
I was not expecting an Ultimate Showdown reference, but I am very glad it’s there.
This game does do something right, if you have enough seals you can just grab the last tiered upgrades and it unlocks all the previous tiers
26:10 So, this must be an update to the game because in the version I played, Theresa admonished me for being nice and gave me demon wings. And when I did things Reaver's way, she praised me and gave me angel wings.
Holy cow the chop suey reference in the first five minutes made me laugh out loud. I was not expecting that joke. Love the vids
9:51 No... It couldn't be... an Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny reference? In 2022!? MADNESS!
The one good scene is you crossing the desert with Theoden, and hearing his voice describe the awful event that caused his claustrophobia.
the USDOUD reference was amazing
18:54 - You went through Fable 2 as Master Chief; I don't think the steampunk-esque robot is too out of place
21:07 - Love the music and edit for this scene.
"Did you learn anything from your adventures?" "I was supposed to learn something?"
Honestly I love fable 3 it's just part of my child hood and I enjoy it
I'm curious to see the next fable gaming coming and to see you do a level 1 run of it as well
