5:27 the theme that plays in the armory full of rockets and shotguns and also happens to be jam packed with the ONLY camo flood in the entire franchise
God. I hate to be a "boomer" but i have to get the thought off my chest. I consider Halo 1 the best game of the series (I can agree that Halo 2 is the best as well tbh), but no halo game, other than 1 pulled off the feeling I got when I got to this part in the game. The unsettling music, the bleak and empty spaces. This really gave me an "Alien" vibe. This is where I thought I got more than I bargained for. I really thought the game was gonna take a horror spin and it almost got me like that.
You ain't a boomer at all man. The fact the early three chapters (especially CE) are far way better than the last trilogy is still today reality. I haven't played them, but I know a follower like me who had. Disappointed, like most of the other players. If I choose buying Xbox, I will have a try, but I don't expect much
I don't know what's wrong with being a boomer but I agree. This particular Halo has something that hasn't been seen from any of the rest of the games. But if you ask me, maybe it has something to do with the Flat colors of the forerunner structures, the vibrant, saturated colors of the covenant and the synthetic music.
This was one of the best sections in the game. That eerie music, the immense infrastructures, the intense shooting with hordes of flood, 343 Guilty Spark chatting weird things in the background... The overall scale reached at this point was vertiginous and fascinating, between sci-fi, horror and a slice of madness. To think that I was initially doubtful about Halo, expecting it to be generic and kinda boring, only for it to end up as one of my all-time favorite gaming experiences!
Executive: Alright team, why do we hate the library? Employee 1: The flood. Employee 2: The length. Employee 3: I actually like the library. Executive: *angry stare* Employee 3: *thrown out the window*
Well I hate the library in the same way I hate deepnest from hollow knight where I just want to get out and its freaking terrible but its also the part I had the most fun with
In my opinion, as someone who recently finished CE: anniversary edition for the first ever time, it was more just all hammering home how utterly ruthless the flood is. Endless monstrosities with no survival instinct, their only objective is to kill you. Although their lack of survival instinct makes them easier to kill, it also makes them more dangerous. Unlike the covenant, who wait for you to emerge from behind cover to kill you like a normal soldier, the flood are just endlessly pushing forward. If they know you're there, there's no hiding from them. A good quote that perfectly summarises their behaviour: "I'm. killing. you. *I'm killing you.* I don't care about anything else, I don't give a s++t about anything else. I- My programming is just get. that. f+++ing. guy. now. It doesn't- There is no, like, OH, he's running?? Oh- back off a little...! No, it's just like... **imitates heavy, determined footsteps by stomping with an emotionless face** ...until I get you. **pauses** It's- horrifying. It's a nightmare. It's like a dream." -Jerma985
Am I the only one who liked this level? Where most got annoyed, I just got progressively more terrified as to how relentless the flood were. And the music... I don't think I've ever heard music more haunting than this level. The only exception being the beginning part of the track "Black Tower" in halo 3.
as someone who recently finished Halo: CE Anniversary edition (first halo game I've ever played), EXACTLY. As for the part about Halo 3, haven't played it yet, so can't comment.
@@jasonhahn8797 oh, hey, really cool that you're still active enough to have replied to me Anyways, I assume you're saying that because Halo 1-3 are the only ones that have the Flood in their campaigns?
@@jasonhahn8797 Oh, good to know. I actually am playing Halo solely for the flood, which is why I was planning to play up until Halo 3. Btw after/between which game(s) should I play Halo: Reach?
Just this song, indicates that something lies ahead that isnt good, the music gives you a feeling of uneasyness, and worry.

It's a good thing too, because invisible flood is hardly something the world needs more of.

Apparently Keyes was going to become the next Gravemind. Huh. That creeps me out.
