@@LeetraviusMcKay-q6m I agree but it will be like WNBA they won't be able to score. They just can't do it if they want to change the rules they will have to do it in college basketball so that next generation would be prepared. In other words they don't have a move, they have 💩product
@LeetraviusMcKay-q6m Natural selection man, weed out the weak and useless players so they get sent to G league, or sent to China. cause God knows some of the legends that passed, would look at this era like "WTF?!?"
Being good defensively is way more impressive than being good offensively because it takes way more effort to be a great defender. It’s way harder to try and stop someone from scoring than trying to score.
How about BANNING the 3 point shot until the FINAL 2 minutes of each quarter????? It would make Post and mid range shooting and thus CREATIVITY for the first 10 minutes of each quarter??
You know it's always harder to run backwards then forward that's why who is with back turn to rim and play defense he can stop who go forward only if block him with body or try slap ball from his hand but can't run backwards and jump and block who is in offensive he will always have edge
@ hah yeah then players paychecks get cut. You have no idea the ramifications of that dumb statement in so many ways. It’s not simple and flat out ignorant. It’ll do way more than cuts their checks too. You’ll see
Let's just turn it by back to the 70s through 90s era. No sarcasm there because those eras are actually better in my opinion then the one I grew up with tho I'm grateful Lebron got me into the sport.
Bring back hand checking, no 3 second rule so that both bigs can stay in the paint, call every illegal screen/pick, traveling, double dribble, etc. let’s take it back to how the game of basketball was really played back in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Also moving the pivot foot.
There is Eurostep, the Jordan/AI shuffle (which is technically traveling), now we have the PG13 and Labron pirouette! Watching these PALM the ball, the spin in place moving both feet, the stoping to faux dribble to the take a step back(which is considered a motion of your feet not part of the shot). That’s 3 foot motions without dribble the ball. Sports cooked.
He wouldn’t put his foot down anyway even if he had the balls to do it, he’s a woke idiot who actually agrees with everything these entitled spoiled players do and say. He needs to go and they need another David Stern to reign these idiots back in and if they don’t like it they can pack their bags.
Lets take a look at a few NBA off season free agent contracts just to see what danger lies ahead for the NBA....... Paul George at 33 getting a 4 year 212 million dollar contract this last offseason. Lauri Markkanen getting 5 years and 247 million.. Jamal Murray getting 4 years and 202 million.. Jayson Tatum getting 5 years and 315 million dollars..
my team is the bucks and i live in milwaukee . i need literally 5 subscriptions to watch all the games of my local team! ridiculous i can’t just pay one place to get all the games.
@@100fxtradinggroup3 yeah what’s the biggest slap in the face is that if i just picked a different, further away team like the raptors, i could watch basically every game on league pass.
I work at a bar in Vegas and it’s almost impossible during the NFL or NHL season to find anyone who cares about the NBA. They wont play the games at work unless theres no NFL or NHL. Basketballs always been my favorite but I learned early on people, especially white people, dont watch the NBA. I’m 40 now and its so much harder to watch nowadays. It’s just constant 3 pointers. I saw a sat the other night Boston put up 50 threes in ONE GAME? This makes me completely understand why people dont want to watch the NBA and honestly after watching the WNBA last season, I felt they played a much more organic, fundamental type of basketball. The NBA feels…like teams found a meta and exploited it. There’s no passion. Everyones friends. The WNBA got women beating the crap out of each other and the dudes are getting dinner together…kind of sad
I'm white and Australian, and basketball was huge even here in the 90's. Everybody i knew played, our national league games were televised, there were several basketball based shows and a few big NBA games on TV every weekend. People have more options today but if the NBA was still putting out a good product old fans wouldn't have dropped off and new fans would continue to emerge.
So they need to stop throw 3 pts and just shoot but even better dunk and dunk 2pts? I love play darts and do you know what always try to hit triple 20 not 10 or 15
-More calls on traveling and carries -More physicality allowed on defense -Penalties for flopping and foul-baiting -Fouls calls for CLEAR AND SIGNIFICANT contact only (although that's probably too vague)
I haven’t paid attention to the NBA in several decades. When did flopping become more common? in European football (soccer), the official word for what they used to call “diving” is “simulation.” The ref can give a player a yellow card for simulation. It makes me laugh every time!
Your daddies were haters, their daddies were haters. Youre lil hater babies gonna be haters. You probably talked about haters like you werent one before in your life but you just didnt know it was in your blood lil haters. Thats the difference. My Dad was a mf pimp. If your dad was a cold blooded pimp he would of slapped that hater out of you. Your dad was spreading his hater blood and teaching his kids how to be better haters. Hate on lil haters. Lebrons dreams coming true. You out here hating on youtube! 😂🎉😂🎉😂
they made assist easier that is why there are so many triple doubles. everything is an assist these days. pass the ball, catch, jab, pump fake, two dribble drive, spin, pump fake, layup, thats an assist in todays game.
@ assists today would not be called assists before like 2005. Go back and watch games and you will see. The nba is way more generous in giving assists today.
How do we know how skilled they are when they're allowed to get away with traveling, walking, carrying, palming every other play? Look at that game winner from Luka in this video. He took like 4 steps.
@@prezian1312We constantly tried to explain how we saw the game change negatively. We just got gaslit constantly. Yeah some oldheads are just a bunch of haters, but most of us were simply speaking the truth. Hell I never understood why the new gen was so against adjusting the defensive rules more to what it was before. I mean, the players today are just so much more skilled right so what could be the issue young people have with it? It literally would make sense to balance it out, but for some reason, they disagree. I think they deep down know that we're arent just talking ish on a new gen. They're protecting the claims they made about 'their gen just being way better', when this generation of basketbal is the easiest it's ever been for offensive players, whereas if players were better, we wouldve seen the same exponential rise in better defense stats balancing offensive stats out out a lot more. In reality, defensive stats are dropping across the board for about a decade now. Is that because this gen can't defend? Hell no they might even be the most talented defenders ever. It's simply not going to show itself statistically or mentally in a game that heavily limits defense and none of us ever, are going to see how truly good players are on O and D of one side gets benefits and the other side limits.
Easy solutions to the problem 1: bring back handchecking or at least allow aggressive handchecking when outside the 3 point line. 2: stop catering to lebalco james and let the younger stars take over. 3: stop allowing players to travel. 4: make flopping a foul where the opposing team gets possession or free throws. 5: get rid of the defensive 3 rule.
I miss the days where a team scored 80 points and that was considered impressive. Nowadays, the worst team in the league can score 80 points before halftime.
@@tmoney360 this happened…? Who put up 150 in a game 😭 You just sent me down a rabbit hole, it seems like 320 is the record for most points in a non-OT game. It was November 2nd, 1990, Golden State Warriors 162, Denver Nuggets 158. It was the season opener and both teams were pretty bad, especially defensively… so it’s not too surprising. But I would assume that record is gonna be broken soon lol.
No defence Too much lebron Not promoting other super stars To many 3's in games Lack of creativity. No rivalries No competition No objectivity. If the nba don't change something I'm gonna just go outside and watch free street ball.
- there is defense it’s just not 80s-90s levels of effort due to poor officiating and the league being “cleaner”. - some would say there was too much jordan? the league has always had a face they pushed and milked until they couldn’t anymore. - the 3 ball era has been rough to witness but it’s gonna be here fir a while thanks to stats and mathsketball. - no creativity? that was a line you heard from someone and regurgitated it. if you’re a long time fan of the sport, then you have SEEN everything under the sun so the appreciation in creativity this era is ultimately up to you. - rivalries aren’t marketed as they should be, and it’s also a lot more in conference rivalries but due to the player movement and empowerment era it’s a lot harder to consistently keep the rivalries up. - the league is competitive, this era has a lot of parity.. it’s just the style of play doesn’t match what fans are wanting and missing. - sport’s leagues and media run off of narratives and objectivity is rare these days but it’s across the board.
I said this a decade ago. Three-Point Era along with “Player Empowerment” has destroyed this game. All offense and no defense has turned off the hardcore NBA fan. I’m one of them. I will not watch another game until it becomes more competitive.
I wouldn't say I've ever been hardcore...but grew up when the rules were MOSTKY enforced fir offense, even the biggest stars. After raising family.. in 20s didn't watch much.. Came back around 2010 and was not very impressed, imoression got worse and worse till a few years back just didn't watch at all. I just CRINGE at all the travelling and carry and charging and its just awkward to watch..and commentators not only ignore it, but at times EXCUSE abd PRAISE it. And the FLOPPING AND POSING.. It's just gross, I can't relate to this WEAK PLASTIC POSER generation.
@@generalnsjwatching westbrook of that era was near impossible. I used to like okc but those years you mentioned put me off. I couldn’t cheer for a team with westbrook. As long as he got his triple double though right?
I'm from Serbia and you're absolutely right, today in the NBA, reavial matches are played with almost no defense, 110 plus points are scored in an average, which is unthinkable for the Euroleague, for example, so now there are many more players who score 40 plus points in a game. now I follow the NBA just for the sake of order, but now it seems to me like some kind of circus, there is no ferocity, there is no fight for every ball, there is no real passion, of course honor to individuals.
I used to watch Kobe, Iverson and Jordan. Today's bball is comical. Divas to the utmost. From their gameplay to their pregame attire. I think accessibility has a role in my perception of bball, football and celebrities in general. Jordan, Kobe and Iverson had a mystique about themselves. Today, its all in the open. A curse and blessing.
Social media has obviously made the players (and other celebrities) more available (I guess that's the right word) to the public. One effect of this I've noticed is how often people refer to famous people by their first names nowadays. It's kind of weirds me out because it assumes a level of familiarity that doesn't actually exist.
Historically more offense means more eyeballs across all sports. I'm not convinced its the increased scoring that is hurting the NBA. I think the "player empowerment" era has been a disaster. Players can sit and pout and demand trades, abandoning their team and the fans, and they get rewarded with 200 million plus dollar contracts. Load management has only further exposed how little the regular season means to the "competitors" of today. If it's obvious how little the players and teams care about the competition, why should the fans care? They shouldn't. The modern iteration of the All-Star game is a perfect microcosm of todays competitive environment. Back in the day there was pride on the line. Not only did the players want to win, they wanted bragging rights over their peers. They players simply put had competitive pride. Now? Not so much. Now it's about creating your brand and getting your paper. Generationally wealthy players don't give a shit and all the corporate wankers in the expensive seats are just looking for hits on their Instagram accounts. Make player salaries dependent on team wins and games played and sell the first 30 rows in every arena to die hard working class fans and the product will turn around in a flash. TL; DR - it's not about offense, it's about competitive spirit. It's not a coincidence that the poster child of this era is LeBron, the most fake competitor among the all-timers. LeBron has skills and athleticism for days, but he's all about being a billionaire entrepreneur not about being a dawg. Shout out for his hometown philanthropy but I'm glad he never played for my team.
I couldn't agree more with your assessment of players being coddled. Barely any superstar now plays 81 games when before players would miss like 3-5 games at most and many would play the entire season. These millionaires with crazy paychecks sitting out sends the wrong image of entitlement. Also, if you tie a players salary to team wins and how many days he's available on the court to play you would fix this problem immediately. That would give real incentive for players to compete and deter Ben Simmons type of situations where players just coast because they have over $100M guaranteed in the bank

I do not know why but in USA sport is never sport, it is a performance for the audience to collect money from them. Audience and money lead everything. Simple question: will they play a game if there is no audience and no one is broadcasting? if the answer is no, then it is not a basketball match. Its just a show.
The worst part is the true fans of the game are making suggestions on how to improve the game and these new Gen of fans take it as us disrespecting their era. These new fans have a hand on the decline of the league as well. Most of them don’t even watch the full games and only watch highlights and a check boxscores. Then they go on social media acting like they know everything. When in reality they don’t know 💩.
Next time u want to put these new-NBA fans in their place, just ask them why if you watch a good 5v5 pick up game at any park or gym in any city, there's amore intensity in those games. Ask them why guys are playing physical and talking trash and not all buddies when things get heated. Ask them why those games, even at the lowest level of athleticism and skill, are truer to basketball than what the NBA is today... @me w/ what they say 😀
Nikola Jokic is the saviour - staying true to his roots of Euroleague style basketball. Reminiscent of NBA in the 90's. As long as Silver is the commissioner, the league will continue to go down the drain. The fact he got upset at Shaq criticizing the league goes to show you he’s in denial. Him saying the NBA doesn’t have any issues shows he’s in denial. The ratings and viewership continue to decrease and he won’t fix it. The NBA will continue to suffer until something changes.
David stern put silver in place to finish his work. The issue is the owners being in bed with disney. Disney wants high scoring games and they own the network. Seriously, go look at how the league chsnged when disney got the tv rights to the nba.
@joefilter2923 The refs dont matter. Theyre just doing what the owners tell them to do. As long as the pay is paying thats all they care about. What part of disney wants to sell the fame of players and high scoring games over the quality of basketball don't yall get.

In this sense I agree. I watch older highlights of Bird or the Lakers or even Jordan they weren't sitting out games over being sick like LeBron from what I remember him doing in Cleveland. And not seeing a lot of defense or players give up on trying to defend 3 point shots or leave them wide open pisses me off so much.
the problem with the nba is every current nba team just jacks up 3's and pull up for 3's on a 2 on 1 fast break. the shit that would piss me of as a coach is watcing your 6'8 player unable to score on 6'3 players because your 6'8 player has zero post moves because his lazy ass dont practice post moves anymore and just jacks up a hundred 3's during workouts. nba teams used to have identities like bad boy pistons, fast break lakers, fundamental spurs, old school celtics.
Bring back the fundamentals, like defense, double dribbling, traveling rules and no load management with pay deduction on games not played, the more you sit out the more injury prone you get, ironic...

The NBA Finals needs to feel like an NBA Finals. Let’s add the Larry OBrien trophy in the middle again, let’s add some excitement to it, they made it as generic as possible
I agree I rather see games come down to the neck. Like game seven and a point two point or 3 is needed to win like how Jordan made it exciting to watch through the games on YT
It's literally a 3pt contest now. There's hardly ever 2nd or 3rd efforts on defense. It's entirely way to easy to score now. And it's even ruined pick up. Everyone trying to be trae young. Everyone over dribbling trying to get in their "bag". And these kids still thinks that's skill. Growing up in the 00s if it took you more than 2 dribbles to get off you was called trash.
Because literally every slight contact is a foul, that’s not how it used to be, it used to be more like street ball rules and it was 10x better to watch
There are still a few players who try hard on defense, but they're penalized on a nightly basis. Look at Jaden McDaniel. He tries to go over screens, contest every shot, get in players space- and the refs always call a foul on him. It's how Silver wants the NBA to be played.
I love the stats that Uncut had up for Iverson: 54 pts, 20/30 Field Goals, and 10/13 free throws. The Lack of Efficiency for Iverson is overblown. He was the focal point for PHI and their only scoring threat, so he was being doubled and triple-teamed every night. Maybe, Uncut should do a video on this topic for the casuals.
Ticket Price for Bulls vs Jazz in 1998: $75 (equivalent to $138 today) Average ticket price for Golden State Warriors tickets: $600. And they sell put every home game. The league has become a gated community of overpriced McMansions.
Also, new rule should be unless you physically can't function via bruised or broken bones or any illness, WITH PROOF from a doctor or physician, players need to play. Cause these cats are pampered millionaires who don't like putting in the work *Hard cough* BEN SIMMONS *cough* Sorry....just allergic to his bullshit
And stop letting offensive players get away with so much damned foul-baiting. When someone flops I want the refs to just scream at them "Get up, you pathetic bitch!"
Refs need to call traveling, call carrying, call the push off offensive fouls. Bring back hand checking which will result in some physicality being brought back to the game. Start handing out suspensions for flopping. Eliminate load managing forever. Move the 3 pt line back 5 feet. This is a start which will improve the product on the floor.
To put this era in perspective. Two years ago in December Luka had the only 60pt, 20reb triple double ever. Even though it was in OT he's definitely not that good to be getting those kind of numbers. There's no way he could've dreamed of achieving that in any other era. I was actually disgusted after watching that game.
@lacy144320 these delusional young stans are already saying it. Months ago one said "Luka would have Jordan on suicide watch" if they played against one another.
It's also worth noting how many plays are happening in a single game nowadays. It's a constant back-and-forth. I'd like to see the numbers on that. In the 90's, I remember plays going down to the 24th second quite often, second chances, + 14 seconds. In a total of 38 seconds today we might have 4 - 5 plays instead of 2 by the same team.
Additionally, How about BANNING the 3 point shot until the FINAL 2 minutes of each quarter????? It would make Post and mid range shooting and thus CREATIVITY for the first 10 minutes of each quarter??
They became this good on the slowly loosening rulebook it seems. It’s the nature of life. Find the easiest path to accomplish your goal. The sheer fact that some of these players don’t know who was an amazing player in previous generations just tells me it’s not necessarily a love for the game, but someone saying “you should play basketball” and then believing everyone. I will be honest and say I don’t watch the game anymore. I watch more Ernie and the boys and TH-cam content and just from that I can see I would hate it. I didn’t want basketbrawl, but hard earned games where a team knows they can win on defense and transition. The total lack of positions, the inability to call traveling, double-dribble, etc combined with the loose defense and uninspired shot selection, just doesn’t interest me.
@ I’m not saying they don’t do any of it. Obviously they play defense. But if you go back to the days of the strong defense game you’ll watch them wow you on both ends. The second triple champ run of the bulls had arguably the best defense AND offense any team has had. It’s like watching a ballet at times.
The Lebron "I need to learn how to flop" cut settles it. He truly believes his lies. It's insane. On another note I love watching the Celtics right now. A lot of 3's sure but its normally on great team offense and passing followed up with strong defense. The league does have problems though overall though.
i agree the celtics do move the ball around more this year, and they definitely have serious defense. but all those 3s they chuck just add up to more boring current nba basketball. half of their shots are 3s, that will never make for an interesting and competitive game to me.
It used to be so difficult to score 100 pts. I remember arenas around the league would give out free tacos if the home team scored 100 pts. Now, they've probably cut that out because they'd be giving out tacos every single game.
90s-00s was the peak of basketball worldwide. Its only gotten worse since then to the point of being completely unwatchable now. Ive never seen this many airballs and atrocious defense.
I'd argue that the 80s and early 90s was the best. Teams still played tough defense but there was also a fair bit of offense. The Bad Boys Pistons are remembered as a defensive team but they could fill it up much better than people remember. By the mid-90s you had teams playing tough physical defense like the Bad Boys but without the offensive skill to go with it.
The 1988 ECSF Game 7 looked more skilled and entertaining to me than any 2020s playoffs game. I'll take multiple consecutive possessions of tough shots made against tough defenses, than of 5 game minutes of bricked 3s.
If you touch them its a foul, most of these guys want to play defense but there is no reward only punishment by giving up 2 free throws. The rules are rigged against defensive players.
The problem with just complaining about the fouls is fouls per game is actually down not up as the average fouls per game for the nba the 4 lowest have come in the last 4 years with last year being the lowest ever. Likewise they also shoot less free throws per game then ever.
@jammer9941 you are absolutely correct. Why do you think that is? If I breathe on a guy, I'll become reluctant playing defense. Scoring is up, the amout of 3s chucked up is up, fouls are down, defensive metrics are down.
@@housepumpinpc3983Defense being penalized is definitely a factor. I think a bigger one is that players throughout history were less likely to be fouled on jump shots than they were in the post or driving to the basket. All those 3 pointers would mean less fouls called regardless of how the refs called the game.
Whatever happened to the post game? I mean every center and power Forward is trying to shoot threes. They all are trying to be point guards and take people off to dribble. The Boston Celtics averaged 51 three point attempts per game. To me. That's just lazy basketball. When players run a fast break, they're always sprinting to the three-point line. There's just a lot of the game of basketball that I no longer define appealing.
Euroleague has a lot going for it. Better defense and every game counts. Real clubs, real fans, real passion. In the NBA the regular season is like a long round of exhibition matches, with little defense while tickets are overpriced and every few years a team is moved to another city hoping to make more bucks there.
@@FirstBallot7 there are big men and why do you want to get handsy? You don’t have to be jealous of people who can shoot, although calling traveling double dribbles, and the basics uniformly would tighten things up.
Well imagine 2020, one of the worst years in history, the NBA comes back really with the intention to give people something to watch and feel good about, not to mention the NBA needed the money (they had a falling out with China if you remember and lost so much money) well they come back and the whole things is a Political statement. Players were threatening not to play because of “police brutality” players were getting shamed if they didn’t wear a BLM shirt or didn’t kneel or sit during the national anthem. All of this while one of the worst pandemics in history is going on, people becoming more poor, family members dieing , protests and riots destroying business and cities. Everyone said at the time “go woke, go broke” and they ain’t gonna go broke, they most likely they will be owned by China one day because they won’t be able to generate the revenue in the US to pay for the unbelievable salaries.
That and let defenders actually CLOSE distance in the ball handler. These days, they call a foul just for getting too close. It’s just silly. I haven’t been able to watch basketball since around 2009. League is just too soft and watered down. Nowadays, it’s not basketball. It’s just a 3 point contest.
The NBA has become Arena Football where defense is illegal with the thinking fans love offence but offence with no defense is meaningless also just shooting 3's with no defense is like watching corn hole.
I don't agree with bring back hand checking. That's bad; it tells guys to not move their feet. Players travel all the times and seldom get called in any eras. Jordan used to travel all the time. Get rid of the 3-point shot! That is what ruined the game. It's only at the NBA, but it's ruined at your local recreation. Guys are just chucking 3's.
7:46 this. THIS. I’m so tired of the “all sports evolve” argument. If the notion of evolution exists then it means that the notion of de-evolution must also exist. Everything does not always get better, in fact most things get worse over time or plateau. Prime example, THE NBA. That argument is the worst defense of the modern nba, that everything gets better over time, when that is empirically untrue. Life is never that linear, so why would the nba be an exception? It’s just a way to denounce the past while promoting the present/future. And it’s the laziest way to cape up for this terrible version of basketball we have now. So glad somebody finally said it.
You can't get by in the modern NBA without skill. There were a bunch of guys 20 years ago who would never even dream of sniffing the basketball court in today's NBA. The real problem is how difficult it is to watch a game without 5+ subscriptions and cable.
3 points beyond the 3-point line should be abolished and shooting beyond this line should also be made a violation because nowadays almost all players can shoot 3-points. With these changes players will now forced to make moves to get points making the game exciting to watch.
My fix would be completely eliminating fouls on defender when offensive player initiates the contact. That means no foul, when driving player bumps into the defender to create space, no foul when a defender jumps on a fake and the offensive player jumps afterwards and so on. No more stupid rip through moves or jumping into people in the restricted area. Its already in the rule book, defender is entitled to his own space - they just need to enforce it.
Watching Joker play against the "background" of the current "style" of play in the NBA is a super treat - and one that basketball fans will come to sadly kids when Joker eventually hangs up his sneakers.
It's the same with every facet of our society... Something is broken... it's perfectly obvious why it's broken... but everybody wants to pretend it's 20 different things causing the problem and discuss those irrelevant things endlessly... while ignoring the reality
I’m SO HAPPY to see that I am not the only one who barely cares when I see someone score 50. Its like its become so common that 50 has lost the special feeling it used to always have. Now, I’m only impressed when I see a player get 70 or 60 points. Damn, what happened to the game I love? 💔

I grew up learning fundamental basketball as I am sure many others have. Always look for that extra pass, always screen tough, always guard well, always run and hustle around the court, etc. These are things ingrained in every young player and things youngsters work(ed) hard on to achieve. The NBA now doesn't really showcase any of these things.
Lets just say if we all pocket watched the bosses pocket the way the nba players does..we all wouldnt have a job to go too..this is why ppl are turned off from the product i think its about time ppl stop tuning in and giving them the views that they dont deserve.
Here are my suggestions to FIX NBA : Defense has to be incentivized 1. One point for each steal and/or block; being able to score on defense will make each possession more intense 2. If a team is down by 20 entering the 4th quarter , 4minutes gets shaved off the clock, making the quarter only 8mins.. reward the team winning, and light a fire under the team losing 3. (Nick Wrights / Colin’s idea) make dunks worth 3 points all game, and cap the amount of threes per team per game at around 15 total. 4. Give the 5 starters on both teams of every game 8 fouls allowed to commit before ejected , and give bench players only 4 each.. keep the stars on the court 5. Shorten the length of each quarter from 12 to 10mins.. shorter games, more energy and effort given
One thing I would do is have the change the 3 point line rules. Right now anyone can take a three point shot during any time of the game. Instead, have only 25 minutes during the game where a 3 point shot can be made. Put LED lights on the floor and around the back board. When the lights are one, a three point shot can be made. When the lights are off, there is no three point shoot. Have the on a random timer. So 4 minutes its on, six minutes its off so its hard to predict when it is on. It will force teams when the lights are off to play closer to the basket. It will make the game better to watch.
Bring back defense and the creativity will return.

4: make flopping a foul where the opposing team gets possession or free throws.
5: get rid of the defensive 3 rule.

No defence
Too much lebron
Not promoting other super stars
To many 3's in games
Lack of creativity.
No rivalries
No competition
No objectivity.
If the nba don't change something I'm gonna just go outside and watch free street ball.
Why rivalries?
For me, I noticed the change watching OKC around 2012-14 when they started with the Hero Ball when they weren't chucking 3's all over the court.

Players used to have a passion for the game, nowadays they're just there for the paycheck & PTO...

54 pts, 20/30 Field Goals, and 10/13 free throws. The Lack of Efficiency for Iverson is overblown. He was the focal point for PHI and their only scoring threat, so he was being doubled and triple-teamed every night.
Maybe, Uncut should do a video on this topic for the casuals.

Ticket Price for Bulls vs Jazz in 1998: $75 (equivalent to $138 today)
Average ticket price for Golden State Warriors tickets: $600. And they sell put every home game.
The league has become a gated community of overpriced McMansions.
@@GolumTRSee they made it about the brand instead of the Game.
Players to fans: I have a boo boo on my ovaries and I’m out of tampons so I can’t play tonight. Better luck next time.
Adam Silver is the great grandson who ran the family name, business, & brand into the ground.
Dont call so many fouls, let players be physical, let players play hard azz D.. pause
Also, new rule should be unless you physically can't function via bruised or broken bones or any illness, WITH PROOF from a doctor or physician, players need to play. Cause these cats are pampered millionaires who don't like putting in the work *Hard cough* BEN SIMMONS *cough*
Sorry....just allergic to his bullshit
Good point, refs seem wishy washy with calls.
I also think a lot of refs lack the conditioning & speed to keep up with the game
We don’t really need the hacks of the old days. But we don’t need sloppiness or rigged calls.
Moving the 3 point line back doesn't make sense at all though
It’s like ball at the park. Eventually that ish runs dry unless you’re actully playing
This. Then you'll have people saying he's better than bird
@lacy144320 these delusional young stans are already saying it. Months ago one said "Luka would have Jordan on suicide watch" if they played against one another.
@bos3835 meanwhile he plays matador defense. Or turnstile defense. Makes dirk look like a lockdown
@@lacy144320I heard they compared Austin Reaves to Bird🙄
Wow a bunch of dudes chucking 3s and the one guy playing somewhat all around basketball is going to win the MVP like 6 times in 7 years?
Yes it’s bad.
Allow players to play defense again! Stop empowering foul hunting and flopping to get a call.
@@nikko2thep sounds good, although we don’t need hand checking
Additionally, How about BANNING the 3 point shot until the FINAL 2 minutes of each quarter????? It would make Post and mid range shooting and thus CREATIVITY for the first 10 minutes of each quarter??
Adam Silver and Lebronze have ruined the NBA there is no question.
@@theroguerider teams still win on defense and transition!
@ I’m not saying they don’t do any of it. Obviously they play defense. But if you go back to the days of the strong defense game you’ll watch them wow you on both ends. The second triple champ run of the bulls had arguably the best defense AND offense any team has had. It’s like watching a ballet at times.
2:37 The glare Bron gave DLo when the “king” himself didn’t do a damn thing either 😂
@@laz0rama Yeah I am a C's fan so obviously biased. It is not the same or even close to the product it was.
@@laz0rama do you hate people who can shoot?
It used to be so difficult to score 100 pts. I remember arenas around the league would give out free tacos if the home team scored 100 pts. Now, they've probably cut that out because they'd be giving out tacos every single game.
@@souldrum86 that doesn’t seem right, although there is more scoring, I’ll give you that
Scoring inflation: it is now get 50 percent off a large fry if team hits 100 and free large fry if they get 120. LOL
The league is too... Woke, WOKE, WOKE!!! Season ticket holder for 5 yrs... No more. NHL for me...
The 1988 ECSF Game 7 looked more skilled and entertaining to me than any 2020s playoffs game. I'll take multiple consecutive possessions of tough shots made against tough defenses, than of 5 game minutes of bricked 3s.
As a Pistons fan, you sound dumb as hell
Unlimited traveling. No defense, lots of 3pt shots. BORING.
@@ihashup so you like hack basketball?
@@housepumpinpc3983Defense being penalized is definitely a factor. I think a bigger one is that players throughout history were less likely to be fouled on jump shots than they were in the post or driving to the basket. All those 3 pointers would mean less fouls called regardless of how the refs called the game.
@@joefilter2923I fail to see where he said he likes "hack basketball".
Implement a 5 second violation in the paint and a 3 second offensive violation outside of the 3 point line
Bring back the big man, hand checking ,and limit the number of 3s a team can take per quarter or game. That's a start!
@@FirstBallot7 there are big men and why do you want to get handsy? You don’t have to be jealous of people who can shoot, although calling traveling double dribbles, and the basics uniformly would tighten things up.
Not one mention of the woke politics? That's literally the BIGGEST reason half the country has tuned out the NBA.

@@parabrat you probably lost it horse, right
Well imagine 2020, one of the worst years in history, the NBA comes back really with the intention to give people something to watch and feel good about, not to mention the NBA needed the money (they had a falling out with China if you remember and lost so much money) well they come back and the whole things is a Political statement.
Bring back handchecking. That would make players stop taking the stupid 3 pointers they do and bring defensive balance back.
@@heywella it’s not three pointers
@joefilter2923 you're missing the point. It's ok, though.
Bring back hand checking and start calling traveling again. Also, start punishing flopping.
I don't agree with the second one. The other two are fine.
Guys are just chucking 3's.

it hurts me to say this as an american but nba adopting fiba ruleset would be good for the game.

The truth about sports betting ^
7:46 this.
1:58 got me weak 💀 😂😂
todays NBA is a joke.. i stopped watching it since 2003..
You can't get by in the modern NBA without skill. There were a bunch of guys 20 years ago who would never even dream of sniffing the basketball court in today's NBA. The real problem is how difficult it is to watch a game without 5+ subscriptions and cable.
Dear NBA, the 3-point line has ruined the going-to-the-hoop game. Get rid of it or suffer the consequences.
3 points beyond the 3-point line should be abolished and shooting beyond this line should also be made a violation because nowadays almost all players can shoot 3-points. With these changes players will now forced to make moves to get points making the game exciting to watch.
100% agree with you at the end, assuming things automatically improve as time goes on isn't correct.
Right but it needs to
Bring back hand checking ever since that took place it ruined basketball
1: bring back the hand check for defense.
2: eliminate the (travel) Euro step.
3: disallow the 3-point shot until the 4th qtr.
Lebron totally destroyed nab, he is DIDDY girl, Adam silver totally f up nab
Watching Joker play against the "background" of the current "style" of play in the NBA is a super treat - and one that basketball fans will come to sadly kids when Joker eventually hangs up his sneakers.
It's the same with every facet of our society...
Something is broken... it's perfectly obvious why it's broken... but everybody wants to pretend it's 20 different things causing the problem and discuss those irrelevant things endlessly... while ignoring the reality
Allow hand checking or even contact fouls beyond the 3 point line.
I’m SO HAPPY to see that I am not the only one who barely cares when I see someone score 50. Its like its become so common that 50 has lost the special feeling it used to always have. Now, I’m only impressed when I see a player get 70 or 60 points.
Damn, what happened to the game I love? 💔
If you're going to do video like this, it would be super valuable to mention the rule changes (or changes in implementation) since 2004 that neutered defense and allowed some really loose ball handling.
Theyre making it hard to even watch the games; if u get lp to watch ur home team, theyre blacked out so you have to either move out of state to see your own team or stream illegaly. Then the games themsleves are on after my bedtime so the chances of me waking up to watch my own team are slim
1. Breathing wrong on someone is a foul. 2. Big stars in small markets. 3. Flopping is a basketball move. 4. Load management, WTF is that? 5. Injuries is like the Kardashians, its all over the NBA, FORCE PLAYERS TO WEAR BETTER SNEAKERS!!!. 6. Last but not least, do something with the damn all star game, who the hell wants to see Matt McClung dunking in a NBA all star game when you have Jah,?
Because it has become boring. Everyone runs the warriors scheme, or some version of it. There is no variety. There are no stories for people to be keep people interested. They tried to create one when LeBron drafted his son, but other than his minions no one cares.
Nobody watches the Chinese NBA. LeWoke James, Stephanie Curry, Alice Silver, No Defense, Soft Players, Load Management, Corrupt Referees, Woke Coaches, And Woke Owners have Ruined 😡 this League. I hope it Folds and they continue losing Viewers.
Here are my suggestions to FIX NBA :
Defense has to be incentivized
1. One point for each steal and/or block; being able to score on defense will make each possession more intense
2. If a team is down by 20 entering the 4th quarter , 4minutes gets shaved off the clock, making the quarter only 8mins.. reward the team winning, and light a fire under the team losing
3. (Nick Wrights / Colin’s idea) make dunks worth 3 points all game, and cap the amount of threes per team per game at around 15 total.
4. Give the 5 starters on both teams of every game 8 fouls allowed to commit before ejected , and give bench players only 4 each.. keep the stars on the court
Eliminate the 3 point line to begin with and bring back the rules that were before for more defense
