JJ Redick doesn’t just represent what wrong with the NBA, but what’s wrong with A LOT of major corporations in entertainment in general. “The paying customer doesn’t enjoy the product? Well that’s because something is wrong with THEM. THEY need to change”.
Lol, ok, I’m sure that’s a strategy that will get viewership back up 😂🤦‍♂️

    - 3 point contest.
    - Load management.
    - No defense.
    - No physical contact, yet they're injured half of the season, because they're made of glass.
    - Fouls for breathing.
    - Players running the team, and not the coaches.
    - The players not even trying at ALL STAR game.
    - The face of the league being a clown like LeBron.
    - Bronny getting into NBA, even though he is not worthy.
    - Jokic not getting MVP, because Perkins is race baiting for Embiid.
    - Players changing teams, as often as changing underwear.
    - Political BS from the NBA, players and coaches, instead of focusing on basketball.
It's just boring and a bad product. NBA has become a joke.

One bench player from the Raptors got kicked out of the L for manipulating parlay bets and that's just a bench player. I can't imagine no other players are also gaming the system...

Jordan said "The kids today they’re being given things that they haven’t earned, and I don’t want to seem like an old school traditional bitter type of guy, you ask me, and I tell you, I think the game is being cheated because of the success that’s being given prior to them earning it, simple as that."

My main peeve is the jiggering of rules to allow more flashy drives into the key for layups. Seems like just about everyone is traveling and the rules on determining whether contact is a foul or a charge is overly tilted to favor the ball handler.

Super teams ruined the NBA for me. There is no loyalty to the teams or fans by the players anymore. Most people don’t want to watch a product where their favorite player leaves and plays for 4 different teams chasing a ring. Until the 2000’s, there were teams you loved and teams you hated every year and those teams never changed. There were teams who had players you liked who would play that team you hated because you knew the players and you always pulled for or against them which means you would watch those games, even in the regular season. I believe when the 10 biggest active faces of the league play for multiple franchises in the prime of their career, everyday fans lose interest. I think the problem has more to do with lack of team identity than the style of play. Just my opinion.

Charles forgot to mention Load Management, Fake Fouls, Traveling, Carrying, "Triple" Dribble, etc. But improved 3-point shooting. Take it or leave it. Fans are waking up and leaving it. When teams play total basketball then when your shooting is not working you can do something else i..e. play defense, pass, etc. But if the game is all about shooting 3s and your shooting drops from 40% to say 20% then there is nothing else you can do except keep launching and missing 4 out of 5! That is what we are seeing. There are not too many Curry's in the NBA. He should keep launching but rest need to curb their enthusiasm.
Excellent teams! US team is not much better than the rest of the world now. They have gone down and others have come up a little.

Ah yes, the timeless "make it worth celebrating" argument-because clearly, a league that's produced historic moments, all-time great players, and global cultural impact isn't "worth celebrating." You act like the NBA hasn't revolutionized sports entertainment while being a multi-billion-dollar industry.
If you're waiting for perfection before celebrating, you'll be waiting forever. Newsflash: no league is flawless. But if you can't appreciate the incredible talent, drama, and evolution of the game, maybe sports fandom isn’t for you. Let me guess-you're one of those who romanticizes the "good old days" while ignoring the growth and skill in today’s game.

    Reasons NBA Failing
    1. Players are entitled - Up until Kobe, Duncan actually the lebron generation seem to think it is their right to play. Money is all that matters....Lebron, Embid. Players like Westbrook and Curry still seem to realize they are here to ball. - e.g. players wanting more money to play in all star game?
    2. Players disconnected with fans and city - Players should always keep in mind that they play for the fans...its entertainment.
    3. No genuine rivalry - NFL and Football(Soccer) is built on intense rivals that the players themselves understand
    4. No more dynamic duos - 2 stars or superstars per team
    5. No loyalty to the team/city - duos or stars would stay on a team for a long time - it would be their city. deep rooted connection with fans. this makes moving to rivals unthinkable. e.g. Durant, Lerbon, Kawai, Harden, AD, Westbrook constantly moving. For a league to have 6 superstars in the prime of their careers constantly moving from franchise to franchise shows that something is wrong with the league. If a superstar or star spends 10 years in a city and is on the decline and moves to another franchise that is understood
    6. Style of play -
    Physicality lacking....very very soft
Three point shooting - - - I cannot fully blame Curry. He is a generational player. And weaponized his skill. But yes players are looking and settling for only 3s. Not even Steph does this. When I watch him play he does much more than settle for 3s. He drives, dishes dimes. So the one dimensional nature of the game is also a factor.

Back then the games are too physical and you would look at the halftime, and it would be something crazy like 44 to 49 now these guys are too heavily invested in shooting threes, because it truly makes sense too. The biggest problem I think the NBA has, is the fact that they got rid of midrange scoring. On top of that it’s the referees, as well as lack of defense. Those moving screens don’t help either.

When I think of every other major sport like Football, Baseball, Soccer, and even Hockey, people are passionate about the actual team and the players come second and have pride PLAYING for that team. Exactly. Think about it in your own game- say you're playing one-on-one against a tough opponent. In the early stages of the game, you might be driving to the basket a lot, but as you get tired you start settling for threes/longer shots.

That's now what modern NBA games look like. Something needs to change, man. These so called raw talented and skilled players can't seem to slow the game down in a half court set when transition threes aren't an option or when threes aren't dropping. Some ideas to turn the NBA a bit around: 1.introduce the MCP or Most Combative Player's award, with MCP of the month (plus a MCP per team with $ price). Same decision pannel as the other usual awards. 2. Eight 3 attempts per quarter per team, the 9th and plus attempt is going to be worth 2 points
