A small auto was banned in the state of CA. I brought Browning Baby new in 1996 from gun shop in Van Nyght and I love it. When I was followed and robbed in Manchester MO in April I am thinking about bringing this thing to help me. It took 20 minutes for the police to travel 100 feet to response to robbery .

Can you give us an idea of just how the spring under the sear pivot sits & what it pivots off of / is attached to. I am trying to figure out if the pivot point is off the trigger bar. Even a picture with the grip off would really help. Thanks

I took a couple of pics but the spring is hard to see. I’d gladly send them to you. Is email good for you?

I'm having trouble finding a magazine that fits the Bauer. They fit the Browning fine but are to tight for the Bauer.

Really appreciate the video and the close up of the internals. That was very helpful. Do you know if the parts and magazines are compatible? In one video I saw, a person compared them and the Bauer appeared to be thicker and appeared to have a wider mag-well also, so a Bauer magazine would be too thick to fit in a Browning. Looking at them together in your video it appears that they're identical in size.

Brilliant design. I can see why so many companies copied it. Have heard there are 100s of copies made by other companies. Have only heard of a couple dozen myself though.

If you happen to have a FN 1906 25 cal. I would like to see a tear down of the slide release pin and everything in that area..

A Browning 1906 25ACP (6,5mm) needs to be re-blued.. Yes I know some old pistols should keep their original heritage but this one is just getting tired.. No rust but really not very much blueing left..
I am going to field strip it but I guess I need to leave it there.. There is a very small pin holding the trigger in but I'm guessing there will be a spring behind it which would be a nightmare to get back in place...?

Na super easy. Take the right panel off. The bar that's on that side controls the trigger. Be careful do this in a plastic bag the bar will lift up and the trigger will come out with the spring hopefully.

I have one that dont seem to want to reset the fireing pin at all. I dont see anything wrong with it but still it wont reset. I dont have a may for it yet but i have one on the way. I know it wont fire with out the mag but does it also have to have the mag to reset the pin?

youngwolf20 Yes. Both the Browning and the Bauer will not reset without the magazine in place. If you remove the slide you will see that when the mag is in place the mag pushes a slot under the seer allowing it to function.

@@Sharps-im4lb thank you very much lol. I thought that was the case but I was not sure.

I am totally frustrated, I can not get the mag release back on my pistol. I need a video that clearly shows how the spring, mag release button and disconnect go together. I tried to use a video of a browning but the quality was poor and really did not show the installation clearly. If you can help it will be greatly appreciated.

I just looked at mine. It's just a spring in there, held by a bar. If I was you I'd remove the slide, soak the back side of the mag in wd40 so that it runs down the backside of it. Then I would flip it over soak the mag release in wd40. I'd wait about 5-10 minutes then take the mag release put it on the edge of a counter, tap the back of it with my hand. That should force it to let go. But that's just me

Do you mean the it won't move to the rear, and release the magazine, or do you mean re-assmbly?

  • @mtslyh

What keeps the barrel from twisting when the firearm is shot? Does the slide just move too fast for the barrel to really be able to turn in time? Obviously the system works well. I've just always been curious about why the barrel doesn't potentially twist a small amount during firing causing the slide to jam.

    • @Sharps-im4lb

The slot the barrel rotates into is in the slide. This means that the barrel can’t rotate until the slide is fully retracted. When the pistol is fired the force against the barrel keeps it from rotating.

Also the rifling is opposite to the barrels twist to get it out.

Great video. I just bought a “Baby Browning” remanufactured by Precision Small Arms. Do you have any thoughts on it?

I am having a Failure to Feed with my Bauer. Do you think I need new springs? It never reloads by itself... I know my grandfather ordered new springs and didnt shoot it much... I am wondering if they are just too tight. He ordered them from gunpartscorp.com...

Never had that issue but it sounds like a spring thing. Sorry I couldn’t help

Try holding the gun and the camera still for a second. Constant motion. Good grief.
Also, you label it a pistol video and open with a detailed discussion about a camera part.
