why the press n seal on the mold?! after cleaning it seals er up good?!

using the press 'n' seal means not having to oil the mould for storage, then having to spray on brake cleaner to clear off the oil when it's time to cast again. make sure to leave the last cast ball(s)/bullet(s) in the mould, allow to fully cool, wrap tightly with the press 'n' seal.

Do you still have to use a patch with a smooth bore? Great vid!

I patch smoothbore balls with cotton pillow ticking, but back in the 18th century cloth was a premium and not to be wasted on firearms, so tow (flax plant fiber), wasp nest, leaves, hide, and other such natural materials were used ... or in a pinch just drop the ball down on the powder if fast shooting was required. The beauty of a smoothbore is its more rapid rate of fire than a rifled barrel. This is why the military of that era only used and required smoothbores for the troops - recruits traded rifles in for muskets.

Ok!! I gotta know mainly because I am new, The Rubber Band Purpose?

Keeps proper pressure on the mold at all times - I Never cast without a #64 rubber band wrapped twice around the mold handles ... and I have many molds for balls, bullets, and slicks (PPB bullets).

Wade Rush A.K.A. Bubba Roundtree Outdoors has a great Multi Ball video on TH-cam where he loads three .575 round balls in a single 12 gauge shell! It's hard to beat as a bear defense load!!!

Good for Wade ... no way Jose for me! Depending on a single shot sidelock, particularly a flinter, for self defense in dangerous territory belongs in the 18th century, or for those willing to gamble their lives away. I'll stick to a .45-70 for griz country - and in a Henry lever gun.

@@rfdsrd Henry? Lever gun? Is that one of those Yankee guns that you load on Sunday and shoot all week? Nah; it'll never catch on! It's like those telephone things, it'll never go far. Just a fad...
