Building a Shooting Range
มุมมอง 282ปีที่แล้ว
I've started building a shooting range that the cows can't destroy. I have targets at 50, 100, 200, 350, 400, 500 and 650 yards. I show the my old target stands and the new and improved, hopefully cow proof, target stands. I also have some shots of the shooting shed I'm building.

#reloading57x28 #sizingbrass #trimming brass Some say you cannot or should not reload this caliber. So I decided to try it for myself. I used my normal reloading methods on 20 rounds. I then took my reloads to the range and they performed perfectly in a Ruger-57. NOTE: This is also a video which shows essentially all the elements of reloading. NOTE: Before attempting to reload you must follow A...

Astra 400 vs Astra 600\\43 (The Mallorca Files)
มุมมอง 2.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
#astra400 #astra600/43 #9mmLargo While watching the Mallorca Files on TV I saw a WWII pistol I had never heard of before. It was the Astra 400 which fires 9mm Largo ammunition. I Never heard of that caliber before either. Long story short I researched the pistol on "Forgotten Weapons" and decided I need one for my WWII collection. In this video I do a simple comparison of the Astra 400 to the N...

Sig vs Glock - My Opinion
มุมมอง 2.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I am a "Sig Snob" for sure. But I'm open to trying new things. In this video I tell you my personal thoughts about Sig pistols vs Glock. I will be talking about the Glock 17 and Glock 26 as well as the Sig P226 and P365. Remember these are just my opinions. I AM NOT AN EXPERT so don't expect expert opinions.
Ruger Precision 22 vs Romney Beer

There are lots of reviews about the RP22. This isnt one or them. This is me shooting bottle caps at 25 Yards and having a blast. The Romney Beer came from the 2012 campaign. I kept this souvenir for a long time but now I don't want the reminder anymore.
SVT-40 Part 4 - It Shoots, Gas Port Fixed!

I finally got my gas port setting correct. Yeah! Remember this rifle was made in 1940 and was the first semi auto of the soviets. This model had its flaws which is my it was quickly followed by the SKS. As promised here is a detailed look at the SVT-40. Part 2 will look at the bolt and main spring assemblies. However, because the video was so long I decided to make a part 3 which covers the gas port assembly. Part 3 will publish later today. Check out parts 1 and 3. Enjoy. Note: I do not claim to be an expert on this rifle so if you know than me I'm open to learning from you.

Making Lee, 12 ga., 7/8 oz. shotgun slugs
Idiot
Annealing fired brass makes them very easy to full length size. The surface area on the neck and should is small compared to a necked rifle cartridge and the resizing requires a lot more force. The small rim is prone to deformation especially when FL sizing and will pull out of shell holder much easier than other rounds. Annealing the neck reduces force required substantially and stops virtually all case sticking problems. It also will extend the life of the brass. If there ever was a case for annealing this round makes it.
Drop the spruce into a separate container, drop slug into another with a folded shop rag. Don’t hit the base plug, you’ll gradually bend it and start making uneven skirts on the slugs. Hit the hinge pivot pin of the handles.
Thanks, it’s easy to forget when you haven’t been reloading for awhile.
But the damn thing doesn't have sights on it!
Well Done !!! Straight forward and easy to understand . Ride on
I have a Browning witha Bauer slide on it. works just fine.
I am new to the Sharps shooting. I inhereted a 45-90, and since then I've purchased a 45-70, 45-110 and 45-120, (all with 34" barrels. Shooting them are a lot of fun, however I must admit that trying to find brass can be challanging. for the 110, the only place I can order it from is Bertram in Australia, and to date the cost of the brass is $150.00 for a box of 20. Another Issue is trying to find smokeless powder for any the Sharps rifles. I have checked online, big sporting goods conglomerates. And "Hole in the wall" ammo / reloading stores. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
My gosh, that is absolutely beautiful. I will have one one day soon!
What cal.

Question i have is that i recieved a lot of cases from a friend to load. The weird thing is half the cases have a normal looking neck and half look like they are half the length they should be. Anyone have an idea why this is so.
Started reloading for this caliber, had some issues at first with my hornady die stripping the lacquer off. Had to modify the die a bit to get it to stop. Since then it has been smooth sailing. I get why reloading for this is scary though. The shoulder gets bumped forward every time you shoot it. Pushing it back during sizing work hardens the metal. Eventually the neck will shear off and get stuck in the chamber. Next bullet that gets loaded won't be able to go all the way into the chamber and depending on your gun, when you pull the trigger it will fire out of battery. Still blows my mind anyone is making guns for 5.7x28 that can fire out of battery.
I also load 45-90 but use toilet paper as a filler over the 5744 powder to hold it in place against the primer. Much prefer black powder though. Good video.
Quality wise, the slide fit, and lockup, accuracy and looks aside, just fit up, which is better?
The camera is too high to show how you adjusted the crimp
The Lee factory crimp dies perform the best crimps possible. As they do so 100% of the time without shaving the bullets or buckling the cases. And a big plus is when switching to a bullet that is either longer or shorter one does not have to upset the crimp setting to get the bullet adjusted to its depth. All one has to do is adjust the seating die and the crimp is still good to go. Get a seating die with a micrometer on it and one can easily go back and forth between different bullets in seconds (not minutes).

Thank you, they don’t come with any instructions 😢
dont need the stories just review the damn gun
love my Rossi coach gun.
Have you tried the lee crimp die?
@@franciscoortiz9730 I have not
Absolutely the best advice for seating a bullet ever!!! Thanks man!
out of prod?
What, if any differences are there between the baby browning and the FN baby browning?
If they could find it , but when you showed a picture of the box You must know you did not allow anyone to see the name of the company 😂
lol got me confused. i've been reloading for 50 + years and i do it much easier
Wish I would've watched this before I bought one. I have fired 50 rounds through mine and have the loose front sight. Had some feeding issues. Hopefully, it's the ammo. Wish me luck. Haha
I hate the set trigger and forget smokeless modern loads . One thing I did that helped a whole lot was I shortened the metal tab on the front globe and drilled a hole in it so it wasn't so shaded . Buy Paul Mathew's books , they are cheap so buy all of them . 2 f goex , weighed to a tenth of a grain . "Yes it does matter " pour the powder threw a drop tube of at least 2 foot tall . " My drop tube is the handle to a golf club " then compress the powder with a powder compression die . "My compression die is a 38 special drilled and tapped with a fine thread bolt ." Turn the bolt down by chucking it in a hand drill and hold sand paper against it ." Use a card wad , "I use a wax coated bear coaster" Then your grease cookie , " I use aunt O'Dells home made lye soap " . Your 500 grain slug . Taper crimp with a 45 acp sizing die . Can't give amounts or measurements because every rifle and brass case is different , because of that keep detailed notes on every single detail . For example . my rolling block likes pistol primers . But this is a start for any black powder cartridge . The more time you put on the loading bench the more accurate your shooting will be , . The black powder cartridge will shoot just like a modern rifle . But there are a million variables . That is what makes it so much fun . Oh 1 more thing . A chronograph is as important as the seating die , You are shooting blind with out it
If you can get your hands on the browning its the way to go but good luck with that
So what's going on when you're chugging along with crimping/seating, everything going fine and suddenly your case gets a wrinkle in it about halfway down it? Case too long? Bullet diameter too big?
I've seen warming the mold recommended before, but watched a BRO video earlier where he didn't heat it at all. Just turned thay same pot to the setting between 8 & 9. Lil hotter lead and it poured, filleed the mold, & very little sprue to trim.
@4:55 Honest question since I'm learning what I can before making any investment. Wouldn't it have been better to use an overshot card rather than adding more payload before crimping? I'd like to see more on shot reloading. 👍
Was there a single sentence without a fundamental mistake and correction!? It is at this stage that I would completely redo the video and wake tf up this time.
Be warned: the safety 'butto😅n' is riveted onto the safety lever. If not done properly, it WILL come off and be lost. BTDT
One shot spray across 100 rounds... that'll speed it up.

Good video
good info, I just picked up a Pedisoli Sharps from Cabela, 45-70
Thanks for the great explanation!
Wow, I didn’t think that you put too much lube on that casing
Sorry guy, one does not put “bullets” into a stick or drum magazine. You insert “cartridges”. Hope you make this correction.
I'm starting to load shotgun shells as well. Thanks for the info.
It would be nice if they chamber a gun in 308 something you could buy factory ammo
I got a Rossi overland that was a 26” and I had a gunsmith shorten it to 18 1/4”. It is awesome!
No tumbler...you ruin the lacquer. 20 minutes in Simple green and water solution. Agitate every 5-10 minutes. Dry and proceed.
Dudes too old to have a gun like that. Bro have a bolt action if you want guns. Your wayy to old to have a semi auto
We’ll let me shock you further. I also reload all my own ammo. My 14 targets are set out from 100 to 650 yards. I can hit them all with any of my semiautomatic rifles so what is the age issue all about, hmm?
Nice video. I have a 32" barrel Long Range Express Winchester high Wall replica from Uberti. I've asked around, and been advised not to shoot jacketed bullets in it, even though it IS proofed for nitro. You seem to get good results with your 325gr jacketed bullets, which are not available here in UK, BTW, but a number of other 300gr bullets are. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Super erklärt
Those small dents in the case are absolutely no problem in any way. If you shoot a Ar 99% of your brass will have imperfections in it...dents way bigger than that...
DO NOT SHOOT any .45 ACP in any Webley because the chamber pressure is TO GREAT for the Webley. You can reload 45 Auto Rim brass without the need for moon clips. . The load for 45 Auto Rim or 45 ACP should be 6.8 to 7 grains of Blue Dot powder. This load will give safe chamber pressure for the Webley's..Please watch this video for safe Webley reloading. th-cam.com/video/aQmDnvfm7Hs/w-d-xo.html
How clean or consistent is it? Blue dot is a very slow burning powder even to unique which works great for the 455 so I wonder how well it works.
