  • DISCLAIMER: If you have ever flown a drone or done any kind of offshore filming you would know how difficult it is to really show off the conditions being filmed. There are a number of reasons for this, the inability to fly low and not sink the drone and the risks involved in flying during the hairier parts of the ride. Most of all the Axopar 28 makes it look like the conditions are not so rough because it cuts through any waves so easily.
    Check out how the Axopar 28 handles rough offshore conditions off the coast of Auckland, New Zealand in the Hauraki Gulf.
    Still not convinced? Even Bear Grylls loves the Axopar, this writer discusses how they took an Axopar 28 Cabin out in the kind of conditions you would never take out a boat for fun in... www.mby.com/features/bear-gry...

    I love Axopar especially the cabin version. Only brabus shoadow can top that performance.

      Looks to weigh half of a Targa 27.2. Actually strange how different weight they are, both glass fiber.

    Any videos of the ride in a head sea in rough conditions? Curious to see how the bow reflects water.

      not very good its quite splashy and can dive in when going down waves

    Would this be ideal to get out to the east side of Great barrier island? What are the worst conditions this thing can handle? Cheers

      Hi John, Axopars hull is designed to take on very rough offshore conditions and has been proved time and time again in massive swell all around the world due to its sharp cutting bow and cleverly designed hull. If you would like to talk more about this model and possibly take a test drive to get a feel for the vessel, contact our NZ manager Dominic at boats@eyachts.co.nz.
      Watch this very old video of an older model but again you can see it take on over 4m seas without hesitation... th-cam.com/video/XVqfkGmp4hA/w-d-xo.html

      @@eyachts thanks, I would expect large quantities of water to come over the bow when going into 20 knots and 2m swells, but as long as it's designed to drain properly then I'm not too concerned

    • @eyachts
      @eyachts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@johnh9031 As you would see if you search any videos of Axopars in large swell, it is extremely rare for water to come over the bow (unless the skipper is doing something silly). The way the bow and hull are shaped the water sprays outwards not over. However, if water was to come over the bow it would go straight down the sides and drain very fast. If you are curious I definitely recommend reading up about the hull design and watching other videos. Let us know if you need anything else.

    What size engine was that to get 48 plus knots?

      @eyachts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      350hp we are now also offering 400hp with the BRABUS line which will get to 50kts.

      @@eyachts I have the same boat with 300 V8 and max out at 43 miles an hour so significantly less

    • @eyachts
      @eyachts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@briansidella9734 Usually with 300hp we get around 43kts. Please be aware this is in flat water where we get max speed, not rough conditions. This may be something to speak directly to Axopar or an expert in your area to see if you can be tweaking your Axopar differently.

    Good as a water taxi only, if the crew or guests want to stay dry. Otherwise, not much for any other use...

      Neil Zutshi This is not a center console. This is a people carrier from point A to point B. Thats all.
      Quickly? Yes. Reliably? Probably. Guaranteeing these people arrive dry? Yes, much more so than in a big rib.
      But if you want to live some time on the boat, forget it. You’re either inside, between seats, without even the minimum of amenities, or you’re cramped outside, one on top of the other as the space is limited.
      This boat is a commuter. Perhaps also a very good one, but thats all.

      Yannis Tsakiris : Harsh words old chap, great here for a Solent day cruiser. And in your neck of the woods from Vounaki to Fiskardo in the Ionian. Nip over for a spot of lunch and you’re shade from the sun. When I’ve done that run in a yacht it’s taken me the best part of a day - this allows more time doing other stuff rather than holding 5kt course for hours.
      So the big question “what do YOU want from your vessel and what can YOU afford? Key decision making criteria that even the millionaires have to take into consideration...

    • @arcenciel2968
      @arcenciel2968 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Phil B Well, I guess what I’m saying is that for what you get out of this 37 footer is significantly less than what you could get from any other 37 footer. Irrespective of costs. In a motor boat, not a sail boat as you seem to compare to. Of course doing 5 kn is not what you would expect from a similar boat. But if you take any other motor boat of the same size, or even significantly smaller, you get more of everything except perhaps for the extra speed, although this can be debatable too. So, whatever YOU may be looking for into a boat, there is MORE of it in any other boat than in this one.
      However, if you have to move a number of people fast and dry from A to B, this is probably a better carrier. I’m not a fan of the Ionian as it is usually hot and humid. I’d rather ...put my back to the test in the windier Aegean. Enjoy the sea in whichever boat you think is best for you!
