  • NOTE: Always remember to put the kill cord around your leg when beginning this docking procedure (we apologise for not filming this being done).
The Axopar range are known for there easy handling so we wanted to give you a quick "how to" on docking your Axopar 28 in a marina.
Whether you're on an Axopar 28 Spyder, T-Top or Cabin you can use these same principles. We hope this helps!

    Good video, we have a 2021 "28".
Tip: on our Mercury shifter, there is a DOCK button that reduces throttle by approx 50%. Adds a margin of safety, if you touch it a little too hard. We use it every time. (Also useful when trolling).

But what when you need more power in some sketchy situations? I would never turn that on

@@JedemPoKucama I live in a very windy area, never needed more than 2,000 RPM around a dock, even in reverse. Good luck.

That accent says born in the UK.
I’d like to think if you were in UK you’d use the kill cord immediately the engine is running. And yes you can do the lines single handedly with the engine off, step to the helm, kill cord on then complete manoeuvre.
It’s a great video, but remember you set the example to every newbie watching this show who may have no idea how or why the should use a kill cord.

Hi Phil, thanks so much for pointing this out and this is definitely an editing fault, we did actually film Joe putting the kill cord around his leg and explaining this but I forgot to add this into the final export. I will add this now to the description.

@@JedemPoKucama I do not attach kill cord until I'm finished manoeuvring within my berth and remove once I come to my berth to dock. If I am single handed I need to be able to leave the steering position without killing the engine. It's a tough choice to know when to remove and attach kill cord and requires absolute discipline.
