Honestly this is how I’ve felt about unarmed characters in all the elder scrolls games. Like gameplay wise I get it, but lore wise it’s hilarious to think the Nerevar decided to kill a god with his bare hands, the Champion of Kavatch assisted in taking down 3 gods with his bare hands and then became a god, and Dragonborn who is basically godkin decides to fight space lizards and the literal world eating dragon god of time himself bare handed.
Morrowind is in good hands, TR team just dropped a massive content update with a full on vampire clan faction quest. Just played through it and it was great. If all the MW fans come bakc to play it every time one of these drops(for me thats the case) mw still has a good 20 years to go. Also we got some all time classics like illuminated order.
I am almost done with my first ever play through of Oblivion on my XB1. I was planning on getting Morrowind for it next and finally experience it for the first time ever when I am fully done with Oblivion. Can't wait
For those who don't know, you can actually make a custom drain skill on self for 100 spell, for two seconds, then talk to any trainer of the relevant skill, and train for 1 gold per level, all the way to max, and, again, with any trainer of that skill. As if anyone needs help breaking this poor game any more!
Oh my god, I feel so bad for your struggles on the Zainab quest... The clothing you needed is sold in Tel Mora, just a boat ride away, in a store owned by Elegnan. The slaver woman NPC even recommends her shop to you if you'd clicked the 'exquisite clothes' topic. Whoever told you that you can't buy them was extremely incorrect, Elegnan sells every clothing item you needed.
Goes wife-shopping at a slave market, almost gets her mauled by a slaughterfish, finally arrives at the aahlander camp only to announce "I pre-moistened you wife!" And thats among the *least* messed up things in Morrowind. I love this game.
Morrowind taught me there's no such thing as overkill. If you are worried AT ALL about your odds of survival - hit them with everything. Drink all the sujamma and flin.

And the other is the same with lightning. You can start with those, and make better ones over time with extravagant and exquisite jewelry

i don't mean to spam you, i'm just so excited. i make my partner watch your videos. i first started with oblivion i think in late 2020, then skyrim, then morrowind. morrowind took me months to break into and really get comfortable with. it is thanks to YOU i'm able to enjoy such a legendary title. oblivion is my number 1 comfort game and morrowind follows close behind.
You can also buff your luck and int to 30k with alchemy and never fail ANY luck based diceroll including lockpicking, attacking, getting hit, resisting spells and casting spells. You can make a spell that fortifies 100 atlhletics, acrobatics, speed, strengh, add 100 jump and exactly 1 point of slowfall and literally jump to vivec from balmora while carpet bombing with infinite damage spells. Is it broken? Yes very much so. Is it fun? Oh god yes. The game wants you to break it so go ham. Fortifying str too much means you kinda have to use hand to hand cuz all your weapons break in 1 hit which is kinda funny. Imagine breaking sunder on the face of some random hostile ashlander. Imagine how every single blacksmith is rolling in cash cuz they have to repair your godly artifacts 5 times a week. Praise Vivec Morrowind is glorious. Also you can crash the game with fortify speed, levitation or swift swim potions.
By the Nine Divines, Strat's returned to Morrowind. The promised times are upon us! Strat, for real, while I love everything you make you just have a way of coming to life when it involves Bethesda games. Not sure what's up with that, but I love it.

He also absolutely could have gone orc and still been able to jump around. You can enchant a ring with a better effect than hoptoad for like 10k. Just make the duration 2 seconds, cast once for blast off and once before landing and you're fine.

I actually just started playing Morrowind like less then a week ago for the first time. Im utterly in love. This is the first BGS games since I first played Fallout 3 that I've played that has actually managed to keep me hooked. The Lore, The different factions, The build Diversity, The world itself! It's all so good and draws you in. I also managed to rediscover you channel through the game.

Of all my time playing the game, I’ve never built a hand to hand character. It’s too tempting to get CHIM’d out and use insane magic. Also, I’m going to suggest the mod that disables the ring limit. It makes way more sense for a god to wear more than two rings at once.
Custom spell for Damage Skill by 100 for 2 seconds, and pay a trainer within that two seconds so training only costs 1gp per level. Great way to cheaply max, but also nice to least get the early levels padded for consistent hits or spell success.
@@desgyulabalogh3429You want Drain Skill, not Damage Skill. Drain Skill spells are all over the place. You only need one of them, then you can create a custom spell to drain any skill you want.
You don't get a bounty for doing so? I've definently thought of doing this but just figured you would get a bounty, Its prety crazy how most the time if you think it, you can probably do it in morrowind, I had an Imperial with a custom class that I used as an exploration/passive character years ago, my main major skills were sneak, merchentile, speechcraft and illusion, with these you can convince almost every humanoid character in dungeons to be your friend rendering that dungeon non hostile, I can't remember exactly where but I remember I lived in one of the dunmer strongholds that had a master enchanter trainer that you could only get training from by using a charm or calm method (cant remember exactly what spell) to make him your friend, and if I remember correctly he was the only master enchanter outside the DLC, so if you didn't own the DLC and wanted to get your enchanting up to 100 through training, you had to find this guy and make him non hostile.
you need to use DRAIN Skill, *NOT* "Damage" Skill. Drain is temporary and expires, which is what you want, Damage is permanent unless you use a temple blessing. Also, using a damaging spell on yourself is not a crime so you won't get a bounty. If you use Damage Skill on a trainer you can actually lock yourself out of training because a trainer won't train you if their skill level is lower than yours. They might also turn hostile since using a Destruction spell on an NPC is a hostile action. You can, however, achieve a similar effect by using Fortify Skill on a trainer to boost their skill and make training cheaper that way (although Drain Skill on self works better).

Strat, I got so excited when you said you've put hundreds of hours into this game and never beaten it. I am so right there with you. I always get to the logical endpoint of a build and want to start a new one, or get sidetracked by the guilds, or some other nonsense, and never finish the storyline. So glad I'm not the only one.
Really just speaks to the intrigue of Morrowind. There's a lot of different factions, most with some interesting storylines or motivations, and some that are hard to find/join like the Morag Tong. Its very easy to get lost in the weeds in Morrowind and I love that about it
yep, Fortify Speed On Touch for as much as you can and as long as you can. Total godsend. Also Water Walking On Touch, a Restore Health On Touch and maybe even a Shield On Touch.
Love me some Morrowind videos! I remember when i played it around 04/05 i made an "Inuyasha" build, with Unarmed, restoration, destruction, athletic, acrobatic and one handed, no armor, fun times
I had a lot of fun playing a magic monk in Morrowind years ago, it's quite similar - you go high speed and pretty good str, hand to hand, unarmored, and all te good magics -> paralyze things, damage their fatigue and health, and then punch 'em to death OR in the case of Cliff Racers TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE FUCKERS by levitating and punchimg their faces mid-air

The absolute shame of this game is that you can’t join Dagoth in the end. I know he’s crazy but you’re also the reincarnation of his like best friend and lover?! They totally could have made an ending where you join him and expel the Empire.
I'm not really convinced he was the reincarnated Nerevar, the game literally tells you that you aren't (Urshilaku Wisewoman says this). There are other reasons to support that he's not, like not being truly immune to disease but only gaining that ability through corprus and Divayth's cure. I think Dagoth was just trying to trick you into letting your guard down, personally, calling you 'his old friend' and whatnot.

Its no secret that many gods didn't approve of mortals using the heart of a dead god to empower themselves to near god-like status, she could have just seen the potential in you and led you to believe whatever she wanted you to, in order to cast out the false gods.
Morrowind tip for the viewers: To not be so frustrated with those bullshit escort quests that StratEdgy went through, I recommend crafting these these spells - Heal on touch Waterwalking on touch Fortify speed on touch Invisibility on touch (idk if it’s for the main questline but I know it’ll be useful for a faction quest)
If your looking for a new build to F around with, i highly suggest an imperial born under the lady. With unarmored and and exquisite clothes enchanted with fortify personality. With enough personality no men/mer will attack you. You can walk through groups of barbarians and bandits with no fear and its a very different way to play.

Ive got 600 mods on new vegas, 120 on fallout 3, 595 on skyrim, like 100 on oblivion, my red dead is modded, my ghost recon is modded, I even have openmw running with about 400 mods. But mgexe? No matter what I did I could not get a crash free experience from mgexe. One of the few games to defeat me. For me, openmw will always be how I play morrowind. But at least I gave a solid shot at mgexe.

Just use the Morrowind Code Patch to fix the bug associated with the Hand-to-Hand skill. The skill isn't counted above 40 and strength is ignored without MCP. Hence why your footage in the beginning is slow and painful, because of the bug that went unfixed prior to the MCP.
STRAT, I AM BEGGING YOU TO USE STRONG ATTACKS. Fast clicking RARELY works in Morrowind. People think the combat sucks because they see videos like this where people don't understand the basic elements. That being said...never stop making Morrowind videos
Not for everything technically, Short Blade are better used with quick attacks because of their small damage ranges, however yeah H2H is better pulled back to max
I want to preface this by saying that YES please use strong attacks to play this game because that's how you do actual damage especially early game. However, when trying to level your attack stats it's worth spamming attacks because each attack even a miss counts towards leveling it up. That's probably why he's doing that.

All Beth games after this one have marginal increases to graphics and sound, while all other aspects of gameplay and story have become madenningly trash.
I always used trainers to max out all my skills rapidly, I also noticed that once you hit around level 20 nothing in Morrowind was a challenge although stuff in Blood Moon could absolutely wreck you.
In the morrowind code patch there's an option to make hand to hand damage use the strength multiplier but instead of having no negative at 50 str like with weapons it's with 40

Reminds me of my old playthrough when I was hulk jumping all over Solstheim from the Bloodmoon expansion pack. I couldn't see more than a hundred feet in front of me but it was exhilirating.
That jump across balmora is how I feel right now in my first oblivion playthrough. I had read about saving the boots of springheel jak by not wearing them in the theives guild heist and did that. Thing was i didnt know during the Sanguine shrine quest you're forced to be arrested, and i kept the active enchantment without wearing them, so i can wear my daedric boots on top of them. Love the springy jumps
Enchant something with constant 0 slowfall for fast injury free falling. Basically removes friction. Also a 0 enchant is cheap, so you can even add more jump! You're welcome hoppers!
if i remember correctly, there's a combo of boots of blinding speed and maybe sign of atronach or something that lets you combine jump, slow fall, and superspeed with only half-blinded less to zip around the map in almost no time

Dunmer burials are the only ones I feel bad about. The Dragon Cult and Ayleids can go fuck themselves. They didn't deserve to have their shit when they were alive, let alone when they're decomposing.
Tinur's Hoptoad can be found on the Blades Mage next to Cosades' house. In Balmora. Also I get a high-value ring and, using a grand soul gem with a golden saint in it, make a constant effect echant of 1 Slowfall and 1 Restore Health/1-3 Restore Fatigue. I call it the Nerevaring. :) THEN I make a 100pt Jump spell that last 1-2 seconds, and use that to travel.
Hand to hand was always my favourite morrowind build just because of how fast you level it early because of how many punches it takes to actually do anything. Everything takes forever to kill but it makes you pretty consistent at it, the disappointing solution is usually to just take conjuration and summon a sword when they’re down. Edit: it’s pretty good in vr actually, since you can attack way faster

I love that the reward you get for becoming Nerevarine and saving the world is paying 200% more for a ride on a silt strider.
Acrobatics is easily my favorite skill in the game just due to the stupid fun of jumping around all of vvardenfell at ridiculous speeds.
The exquisite clothes can be bought and the slaver would tell you where to buy them if you actually asked her 🙂

everyone starts a hand to hand build and changes it into some kind of mage.
Of all my time playing the game, I’ve never built a hand to hand character. It’s too tempting to get CHIM’d out and use insane magic.
Also, I’m going to suggest the mod that disables the ring limit. It makes way more sense for a god to wear more than two rings at once.
Custom spell for Damage Skill by 100 for 2 seconds, and pay a trainer within that two seconds so training only costs 1gp per level. Great way to cheaply max, but also nice to least get the early levels padded for consistent hits or spell success.

You only need one of them, then you can create a custom spell to drain any skill you want.

I've definently thought of doing this but just figured you would get a bounty, Its prety crazy how most the time if you think it, you can probably do it in morrowind, I had an Imperial with a custom class that I used as an exploration/passive character years ago, my main major skills were sneak, merchentile, speechcraft and illusion, with these you can convince almost every humanoid character in dungeons to be your friend rendering that dungeon non hostile, I can't remember exactly where but I remember I lived in one of the dunmer strongholds that had a master enchanter trainer that you could only get training from by using a charm or calm method (cant remember exactly what spell) to make him your friend, and if I remember correctly he was the only master enchanter outside the DLC, so if you didn't own the DLC and wanted to get your enchanting up to 100 through training, you had to find this guy and make him non hostile.
you need to use DRAIN Skill, *NOT* "Damage" Skill. Drain is temporary and expires, which is what you want, Damage is permanent unless you use a temple blessing.
Also, using a damaging spell on yourself is not a crime so you won't get a bounty. If you use Damage Skill on a trainer you can actually lock yourself out of training because a trainer won't train you if their skill level is lower than yours. They might also turn hostile since using a Destruction spell on an NPC is a hostile action.
You can, however, achieve a similar effect by using Fortify Skill on a trainer to boost their skill and make training cheaper that way (although Drain Skill on self works better).

Strat, I got so excited when you said you've put hundreds of hours into this game and never beaten it. I am so right there with you. I always get to the logical endpoint of a build and want to start a new one, or get sidetracked by the guilds, or some other nonsense, and never finish the storyline.

Really just speaks to the intrigue of Morrowind. There's a lot of different factions, most with some interesting storylines or motivations, and some that are hard to find/join like the Morag Tong. Its very easy to get lost in the weeds in Morrowind and I love that about it

Thinking back on the escort quests, I'm pretty sure you can make spells that buff your followers with speed and flying to make it easier.
yep, Fortify Speed On Touch for as much as you can and as long as you can. Total godsend. Also Water Walking On Touch, a Restore Health On Touch and maybe even a Shield On Touch.
Love me some Morrowind videos! I remember when i played it around 04/05 i made an "Inuyasha" build, with Unarmed, restoration, destruction, athletic, acrobatic and one handed, no armor, fun times

I had a lot of fun playing a magic monk in Morrowind years ago, it's quite similar - you go high speed and pretty good str, hand to hand, unarmored, and all te good magics -> paralyze things, damage their fatigue and health, and then punch 'em to death OR in the case of Cliff Racers TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE FUCKERS by levitating and punchimg their faces mid-air

Or you can go without mods, and have several thousand strength. One punch destroys stamina, second one kills.
Vanilla Hand-to-Hand doesn't scale with Strength though. You need several thousand Hand-to-Hand.
The absolute shame of this game is that you can’t join Dagoth in the end. I know he’s crazy but you’re also the reincarnation of his like best friend and lover?! They totally could have made an ending where you join him and expel the Empire.

I'm not really convinced he was the reincarnated Nerevar, the game literally tells you that you aren't (Urshilaku Wisewoman says this). There are other reasons to support that he's not, like not being truly immune to disease but only gaining that ability through corprus and Divayth's cure. I think Dagoth was just trying to trick you into letting your guard down, personally, calling you 'his old friend' and whatnot.

Its no secret that many gods didn't approve of mortals using the heart of a dead god to empower themselves to near god-like status, she could have just seen the potential in you and led you to believe whatever she wanted you to, in order to cast out the false gods.

Morrowind tip for the viewers: To not be so frustrated with those bullshit escort quests that StratEdgy went through, I recommend crafting these these spells -
Heal on touch
Waterwalking on touch
Fortify speed on touch
Invisibility on touch (idk if it’s for the main questline but I know it’ll be useful for a faction quest)
If your looking for a new build to F around with, i highly suggest an imperial born under the lady. With unarmored and and exquisite clothes enchanted with fortify personality. With enough personality no men/mer will attack you. You can walk through groups of barbarians and bandits with no fear and its a very different way to play.

Ive got 600 mods on new vegas, 120 on fallout 3, 595 on skyrim, like 100 on oblivion, my red dead is modded, my ghost recon is modded, I even have openmw running with about 400 mods. But mgexe? No matter what I did I could not get a crash free experience from mgexe. One of the few games to defeat me. For me, openmw will always be how I play morrowind. But at least I gave a solid shot at mgexe.
If MWSE worked in OpenMW I'd be using it too. The lighting looks amazing in the latest version of the engine.

The jump spells and potions were so great, and I don’t understand why other games haven’t done the same thing or played with this mechanic/feature
Just use the Morrowind Code Patch to fix the bug associated with the Hand-to-Hand skill. The skill isn't counted above 40 and strength is ignored without MCP. Hence why your footage in the beginning is slow and painful, because of the bug that went unfixed prior to the MCP.
With that snip, I now need Ptich Meetings for games. Pitch Meeting for Morrowind would be TIGHT!.
STRAT, I AM BEGGING YOU TO USE STRONG ATTACKS. Fast clicking RARELY works in Morrowind. People think the combat sucks because they see videos like this where people don't understand the basic elements.

Not for everything technically, Short Blade are better used with quick attacks because of their small damage ranges, however yeah H2H is better pulled back to max

I want to preface this by saying that YES please use strong attacks to play this game because that's how you do actual damage especially early game. However, when trying to level your attack stats it's worth spamming attacks because each attack even a miss counts towards leveling it up. That's probably why he's doing that.
@@todaysdesperadohatesavocad7109 missed attacks don't count towards level ups, only landed ones, it's still worth using alot of weaker attacks since leveling is unrelated to damage and strictly related to LANDING hits
All Beth games after this one have marginal increases to graphics and sound, while all other aspects of gameplay and story have become madenningly trash.

I always used trainers to max out all my skills rapidly, I also noticed that once you hit around level 20 nothing in Morrowind was a challenge although stuff in Blood Moon could absolutely wreck you.
In the morrowind code patch there's an option to make hand to hand damage use the strength multiplier but instead of having no negative at 50 str like with weapons it's with 40

Reminds me of my old playthrough when I was hulk jumping all over Solstheim from the Bloodmoon expansion pack. I couldn't see more than a hundred feet in front of me but it was exhilirating.
That jump across balmora is how I feel right now in my first oblivion playthrough. I had read about saving the boots of springheel jak by not wearing them in the theives guild heist and did that. Thing was i didnt know during the Sanguine shrine quest you're forced to be arrested, and i kept the active enchantment without wearing them, so i can wear my daedric boots on top of them. Love the springy jumps
Enchant something with constant 0 slowfall for fast injury free falling. Basically removes friction. Also a 0 enchant is cheap, so you can even add more jump! You're welcome hoppers!

if i remember correctly, there's a combo of boots of blinding speed and maybe sign of atronach or something that lets you combine jump, slow fall, and superspeed with only half-blinded less to zip around the map in almost no time

The entire elder scrolls series in a nutshell: "Tomb Desecration simulator" I swear every grand hero of the elder scrolls series bought his or her way to godhood by being nothing but a filthy grave robber lol let that sink in, the deadric princes in this game actually send other daedra to deal with you if you desecrate their daedric shrines by the way.
Dunmer burials are the only ones I feel bad about. The Dragon Cult and Ayleids can go fuck themselves. They didn't deserve to have their shit when they were alive, let alone when they're decomposing.

Also I get a high-value ring and, using a grand soul gem with a golden saint in it, make a constant effect echant of 1 Slowfall and 1 Restore Health/1-3 Restore Fatigue.
I call it the Nerevaring. :)
THEN I make a 100pt Jump spell that last 1-2 seconds, and use that to travel.

Hand to hand was always my favourite morrowind build just because of how fast you level it early because of how many punches it takes to actually do anything. Everything takes forever to kill but it makes you pretty consistent at it, the disappointing solution is usually to just take conjuration and summon a sword when they’re down.
Edit: it’s pretty good in vr actually, since you can attack way faster
