Speeding police boss says "sorry" while seeking re-election after driving ban

- Nottinghamshire's incumbent Police & Crime Commissioner has admitted that she "messed up" by speeding - and getting banned from driving for six months.
Caroline Henry, who is seeking re-election, told ITV News Central she was "deeply sorry", and said she is, now, sticking to the speed limit.
It's drawn criticism from the other candidates for the job. And with the election this coming Thursday, all three have been outlining their plans for cracking down on the county's crime rates.

I live in Nottingham. Apart from her speeding offences (and pleading poverty and hardship) I have heard or seen nothing about this woman in our local press. What does she do???? An absolute waste of money

This initiative of Cameron is a complete and utter disaster, not to mention a total waste of public money. The sooner the PCC positions are disbanded and we return to the old type 'watch committees' the better. I haven't seen one incumbent that projects a scintilla of authority. It was imported from the US where they vote for everything from the school caretaker upwards.

This lady I have written to multiple time and she never responded. Now want the people of Nottinghamshire to support her. What for? Nottinghamshire has a fabulous county. I could do a better Job than her, she is incompetent
to keep paying her fabulous salary. through extortionate council taxation rises. thatcherism and her parasites have never had it so good.
But why miss an opportunity to make money whenever your Public-servants/Trustees want you to DO something for them?

Commissioner, not Police Officer. Nothing to do with actual Policing, just a political figurehead. The post could be filled just as effectively by Mickey Mouse
Hmm it's quite childish to decide on someone for such a job based on a speeding ticket. We all speed sometimes but sometimes the road is pathetically slow due to clown councils .
She was caught speeding 5 times in 12 weeks so not just a one off incident and not simply a speeding ticket but a 6 month ban. You'd think in her position maybe I should not keep getting done for speeding and being reckless? But no obviously she thinks she's above the law. And this is the person who is overseeing the county police.
Edit: She just rightly lost her job in the recent election.
