Y'all are crazy. A Supra isn't a "rich" kid's car. What trailer park did y'all come out of? The "rich" kids are driving M8 or M4 Competitions or A fully kitted Jeep Wrangler... A Supra is a public school kid's car.
"there's no excuse to not know how your kids are driving" After getting pulled over like this, parents should definitely take some action, but doing this right from the get-go tells kids that the parents don't trust them even with a blank slate, and they might resort to leaving their phone at home or turning off location services while driving to prevent parents from knowing things. Strict parents create sneaky kids. Give them a chance. If they screw it up, oh well, you had your chance.
I drove like that allll the time at that age. All my friends did too, not sure how none of us got in terrible accidents or jail but i believe growing up on farms and driving from a very young age helped! Still insane looking back on it!
Willing to bet pops did nothing or the mom stepped in and went full helicopter parent "don't yells at muh baby" Then when they die it's all "how could this have happened" LOL
30 years ago I got caught speeding as an 18 year old going over 100mph in a rented vehicle at night on I-95. At that time Florida took away my license for 3 years and I had to pay $4000 in fines...it was a lesson well learned...now I don't drive and only rides bikes and horses.
I had a childhood friend get pulled over and taken to court for going 94. Idk what the speed limit was on the highway in Virginia but here in CT it's 65, and in some states is actually over 80, so honestly 94 mph isn't that fast. People in the fast lane go 85 all the time normally, so 94 is honestly only slightly more and sometimes down a straight hill it's pretty normal for people to hit that.
In newer cars (and some higher-end older cars), 94 is essentially cruising. If the highway is empty and well lit, I honestly don't see any problem with the speed. "Cutting up" is infinitely more dangerous even when done at the speed limit, and they rarely get a true reckless charge
I would never get my 16yo a car, or let them drive a car, with a ton of power like that. They do think they are the best drivers and at their age and inexperience, they don't even know defensive driving at all.
365 hp isn’t hard to control, as long as he stays around the 1-2.5k rpm ranges then it is very easy to control. Even at peak power 4-5k rpm that’s when all the boost kicks in, it’s still very easy to control. I started off with 500hp and I been driving for almost 2 years now with the car
Really wish they would have talked with dad and then cuff him and let him sit in the tank at the jail for a couple hours. Make him think about it for a while. A ticket and a court appearence isnt always enough to deter a kid in todays world where parents let kids raise themselves. Just hope him and his parents take this seriously because next time might end up with someone dead
Oh so the 16 year old was NOT arrested? Oh okay. He better not do that in Virginia. Dad would be getting a call from the jailhouse instead of the side of the road.
He's a minor so apparently he's too stupid to follow the law accodding to all voters since the 1950's. So they call the guardin whose insurance covers the vehicle.

That teen does not need that car at that age! Who needs to go 132mph?!?!? Spoiled brat deserves to lose his license for a while. I personally know a family who’s son was killed on this very roadway in 2011 when a truck crossed over the median and struck their minivan killing their 7 year old son on his birthday going to Disney!! Horrible roadway with drivers like this entitled brat.
I don't believe a teen with a good car is automatically entitled/spoiled. I also don't believe those are the right words to describe this situation. I got my license when I was 17, and was driving on my own ever since then. However, I wasn't irresponsible and frankly stupid enough to endanger the lives of others and my own by driving at those speeds. Anyone can have the luxury of enjoying a good car, but whether they do so responsibly or not is a different question. It is not a discussion of entitlement, but rather responsibility. I do however agree that he should lose his license, as this clearly demonstrates his inability to drive responsibly.
I am 43 and I just hit my fastest speed in my mom's $40k 2020 Subaru Ascent. That was 5 days ago. I tell you I think I hit the limiter which is somewhere around 129 to 132 mph. That was quite exhilarating but also scary at the same time. When I was slowing down the steering wheel started shaking like crazy. Be careful out there. I was scared to drive really fast when I was young.
I think the next vehicle I will get is a turbo powered EX Honda Civic which has a top speed of 220 km/h(137 mph). I hope to go to Germany and drive on the Autobahn and see if I can hit the big 150.
At 16 I learned to drive my dad’s 5 Series and my mom’s X3. I’m 19 now, and I bought myself a Corolla Cross. You wanna know the ironic part about it all? My brother, who has a Nissan Kicks, has gotten a speeding ticket, and I, the one driving BMWs, have yet to get one. It’s simple, my parents have taught me to just be responsible- that’s literally it. I typically do speed, but it’s with the flow of traffic and not enough to the point where the cops will care. I swear to god I’m not lying, I just drive more cautiously but not grandma levels of cautious
I do want to say, there is nothing inherantly reckless about driving speeds like that, even on public roads. That Supra is built for speeds like that, so the car is perfectly safe to drive that fast. However, reaching that speed on what looks like a very busy, very congested highway is dangerous, because the faster you go the longer your stopping distances are and the more distance you will cover attempting to react to the movements of other drivers. If you wanna do this late at night when nobody's out, the only person you're endangering is yourself.
If I had a kid and they got caught doing that, and I get a call about it, my immediate response will be "arrest him. I'm not paying bail and he can sit in jail until court." They need to learn a hard lesson when they do something this stupid.
Man my dad I got caught in Chicago going 157 on my q50 my dad wanted to kill me when he seen the cop my dad took all my privileges away and made me take all my mods off my car 😞thanks to him I learned now I’m 18 and modifying my car and still enjoy the car at a normal speed
why are they hiding his face, while he has no right to privacy while in public. Dling 132 mph at 16 years old tends to mean , this is his 100th time and not getting caught and will 100 % do it again. This is where you revoke his license until 24 and have him watch all his friends drive legally when he cant but I assume this is a white kid and thats why the trooper had that somber tone like he was talking to his son and not some other kid who would have definitely ended up in jail
That is probably around my fastest speed I have ever done. I am 43 and just did it the other. I was such a paranoid driver at 16 so I would have been way to scared to drive that fast. I drove like a grandma at age 16. I have hit more 100+ mph speeds in the last 4 or 5 years than I have in my entire driving career. I will tell you though driving is really fast and pretty scary. I could probably drive 100 or 110 mph for a significant amount of time but not 130+ mph.
I really hope you reserve these speeds for a controlled, legal racing environment and not public roads. 100+ mph is too fast to react to a car who blindly merges into your lane a second too late. You may trust yourself, but you can never trust other drivers. Keep emergency services away from one more tragic scene and slow it down.
Sad thing is that the parents gave a 16-year-old a new car. I'm already 18 and I still share a car with my grandparents when they come. My grandparents gave us the car, bought in 2013. In my days when I was a student driver, driving fast felt like a roller coaster, so I wanted to do it. When changing lanes, one has to check mirrors and blindspots. One has to judge if the car is far away enough to change lanes. If the car is speeding, there is a higher chance where when checking, it looks like a tiny speck, but when changing, crash! But then again, mirror checks need to be fast. Even with that, speeding is not OK because accidents can happen.
Good thing that was Brad and not Tyrone because we know how this would have quickly escalated to something horrible, especially in Florida! They damn sure would not be calling the parents to come pick him up there because the call would come from jail or the Coroner's office. I guess it's nice to have privileges.
If he likes the A90 Supra, he should try the M3 Comp when he can afford one, the acceleration is smooth and linear , the transmission is snappy you don’t feel a jolt or bump when shifting and the car is pretty comfortable surprisingly
We used to have no speed limits on some highways in America. Another piece of freedom we lost. We really should have faster highways. At least on the interstate in the fast lane. Bump it up a bit. Look up cannonball run record and why it was made. Interesting history lesson they won’t teach you!

@@ToyotaMotorola camping in left lane is also dangerous

I was scared to drive really fast when I was young.

I wouldn't go over 78 mph
I really hope you reserve these speeds for a controlled, legal racing environment and not public roads. 100+ mph is too fast to react to a car who blindly merges into your lane a second too late. You may trust yourself, but you can never trust other drivers. Keep emergency services away from one more tragic scene and slow it down.
Young drivers are just awesome! We should definitely learn from them.

Arkansas. Just type Arkansas State Police.
