Yes! I have that quote on my mirror, I hold it very dear to my heart!❣️ "The Greatest Grace God can give to someone, is to send him a trial he cannot bear with his own powers... & then sustain him with his Grace, so he may Endure to the End & be Saved" -St. Justin Martyr
Thank you Fr Mike 🌟 After we have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory in Jesus Christ, will himself restore and strengthen us. ~Peter For Christ's sake, we rejoice in difficulties. For when we are weak, then we are strong. Our health may fail, but God will always remain the strength of our heart🌻
this truth touched me to my core. I cried for hours realizing the reason of my last trial. After the past year I endured, I know now that all I know is nothing at all! My life is nothing at all like I had planned. So surrendering to GOD and his total & complete LOVE for me is all that sustains me now! Thank you father Mike, for always feeding your sheep!😇🥰👍
I realized the same, nothing like I planned for it to be. But He showed me the greatest grace was needing Him. Im still going thru jt but I know He is with me!
Please keep all singles waiting on our future spouse in your prayers, Father Mike. May we all keep hope alive while we wait on God's perfect timing. 🙏🏽
Thank you for doing these masses fr Mike. As someone who is currently unable to attend church it's great to have this resource. I spent most of my life as an atheist, this time last year I still was, I'm so thankful & blessed that God opened my heart so that I could see the truth. For anyone reading this who might be struggling w faith, God loves you & wants a relationship w you if you seek it. Blessings to you all ✝️🙏♥️
The greatest grace is to be allowed to fail. The greatest grace is to be allowed to see MY HEART AS JESUS SEES IT. To see myself as Jesus sees me. And to let myself be loved at that moment. The greatest grace is to be chosen as I really am and not as I would like to be.” Thank you Fr. Mike🙏
I've never heard of Fr. Walter Ciznek before. Indeed it's not easy to be a saint at all. Being humbled is always hard and painful when it happens. Pride is really the hardest to get rid of. Only God can properly mold us into saints when we ask His help. Glory to God in the highest! 🙏
Thank you Fr. Mike. On my wedding day, I told myself I will do whatever it takes to make it work. Forgetting that its Jesus who is in control. I thought it was up to me to do all the work, cos 'God helps thise who help themselves'. I have been married for 33 years now, and realise that I'm never in control. I am coming to know what a weak person I am and its God's Grace wthat wil keep my family together. God bless you Fr.
People think the “God helps those who help themselves” is biblical, but it’s not and it’s not accurate. I’m pretty sure you’re younger than I am, so I’m glad you figured that out earlier than I did.
Thank you Father Mike. I just finished Day 66 of CIY. I always make notes of each day and each Homily of yours that I listen to. I am trying to live Jesus I Trust in You. Easier said than done. ❤
The greatest grace is to be chosen as you really are, and not as you or I would like to be... We are broken more than we know, and we are loved more than we could hope, this is the power of Jesus on the Cross, and the greatest grace. 💗
Father Mike, You, Father Casey (breaking in the habit) and Bishop Robert Barron are truly the most inspirational speakers. God sent you the grace to teach. You all maintain churches true teaching at all times and address others with respect and dignity. Thank God that you guys came to the Priesthood. !
It is easy to suffer when there are others around you to suffer with, share it with. When you suffer alone, and the only one around you is Jesus Christ in the blessed sacrament of the eucharist. Willing accepting this suffering because you trust God.
To be chosen as who we are not what we want , expect to be . And above of all, Jesus alrdy knew all of these before we know. Thank you Father Mike 👍👍👍👍👍👍 , thanks be to God 🤲
O Father Mike Schmidt, I rarely listen to your podcasts but i listened well to this one, today. Thank you for sharing this. God bless you, Fr. Mike Schmidt. ✝️
Thank you Fr. Mike for this incredible homily about Fr. Walter Ciszek. After listening to the story of Fr. Walter you preached last week, I bought his book, He Leadeth Me. I look forward to reading his book. Also I want to thank you for your great teaching on the Catechism in a year. May God bless you abundantly!
Ironically, this very thing was brought by myself, to confession. I am not the person I thought I'd be...only to realize once again that it's not about me. It's not about praying God for strength to do my will. But it's not about my will. And God's grace is more than enough. Surrendering to God's will is not performance-based. It's not conditional. Thanks be to God!!!
Fr. Mike shared the real lesson of Fr. Ciszak’s life that I could have never verbalized or understood. God Bless you, Father, and love to all the VFP. 🙏🙏🙏
I always feel like you're speaking right to me. I imagine everyone feels that way. That is your gift, the intimacy you bring and compassion you bring back to the gospel. God bless you and your ministry.
Jesus give me strength. Lord I’m trying to balance everything on my own, but Lord I feel like I’m failing miserably as a single mother. Both sons are special needs I’m so overwhelmed trying to support them on my own. I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Jesus guide me and give me strength. Help me be a better mother.
Thank you Fr Mike!!! I believe that "He Leadeth me" is the one of the all time best books on God's Providence and how to make efforts to understand it in your life - I found it to be more enlightening than "Abandonment to Divine Providence" or even "Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence" - both were great books - but "He Leadeth Me" hit me like a ton of bricks - I continue to read it - its more like a reference manual at this point for me - I go back to it frequently! Requiēscat in Pāce Rev. Walter J. Ciszek S.J.
Father Walter Ciszek could have chosen death by not signing the propaganda document, but he chose life instead to continue to do God's will and to serve others. “For all the hardships and suffering endured there, the prison camps of Siberia held one great consolation for me: I was able to function as a priest again. I was able to say Mass again, although in secret, to hear confessions, to baptize, to comfort the sick, and to minister to the dying,” he wrote.
This gives me insight into the book the Gulag Archepelego. I was disappointed the priests didn't seem any different than the common man in that they broke like everyone else. I was hoping for saint stories. The author did conclude however, that those whole managed to keep their souls from being corrupted were usually Christians.
The more I learn about God, the less I feel able to meet his expectations. Often feels damned if do and damned if don’t. What this man went through and he was still at fault. God give me a break comes to mind. So very confusing and frustrating.
That's what the sacraments are for. Live a Sacramento life, receiving them any chance you get. Each day wake up and be willing to try to do good. Those are the expectations. Those are attainable. You can fall. You can fail. Receive sacraments and wake up everyday willing to try. That's it. Sacramento and repentance.
we all fall short of God’s expectations, and God knows this about us (our human nature). He knows this and still loves us, while we were sinners, Jesus died for us… tell Him everything that is weighing on you and ask for guidance and mercy. i talk to Him throughout the day and that helps ☺️God bless, please keep up the faith💞
@@zwijacthank you for your kindness. I’ve lived 45 years receiving all relevant sacraments but it doesn’t sustain me in my confusion. God’s silence is exhausting.
@@laurenlooolllthank you for being kind. I’ve asked for guidance repeatedly. I’ve asked for patience in waiting for guidance. Hope to wait for that patience to wait for answers. Perseverance in hope for the patience to wait for that guidance. I’ll take a break for now until God is able to engage.
Pray they choose better, and a better generation arises from them. They claim they want a state but turn it down every time the opportunity arises... 1937, 1947, 1967, 1993 - 98, 2000, and 2008. They claim all their indiscriminate barbaric acts from the 1920s (100 years) is resistance. The only national struggle that is dependent on the destruction of another people! This conflict isn't about a state. Its the last gasps of a belligerent imperialist relgion that can't accept the sovereign state of dhimmis in their midst (specifically Jews whom they regard as accursed) and Arab honour shame culture.
Fr Csizek's prison sounds like the J6 prisoners' solitary confinement (who were let into the Capitol, and should only be charged with misdemeanor trespassing, IF they were charged at all) sleeping on the floor with a bucket for a toilet. That's why 6 of them have committed suicide.
I think what you’re describing is like how soldiers torture their captives in war and they psychologically abuse them so that they are unable to think independently or reflect on what is right.
Thank you Fr Mike.

✔️ done
I just wrote it, now it's going on my bedroom mirror. I thank God I was able to hear this today., 3rd. Sunday in Lent
I took a pilgrimage trip to Father Ciszek's grave yesterday and was happy to see that someone had placed fresh red roses on it. 🌹🌹🌹
