Repair: Galaxy Note 2 Charging Port Replacement

Thank you for demonstrating how to access the charging port ... My Samsung Galaxy Note II refused to charge recently and, after trying all the charger and charging cable variations, I decided to take out the charging port board ... I saw that the port jack itself is soldered to the board by its 4 legs ... Considering that this jack experiences quite a lot of physical stresses plugging and unplugging charging cables, I had a hunch that a "cold" solder joint may have developed on one or more of the legs ... Resoldering them with a fine-tipped iron solved the charging issue without replacing the entire board ... My phone now works again with a bonus noticeable improvement in speed and screen brightness ... :-))

I did this and now the phone is charging, however, now it will not turn on. It shows that it is charging but the power button doesn't work and the alternative ways of turning it on do not work either.
What do I do/What happened?
