I will never have the courage to open up my phone with a screw driver. With your video, I got my USB port fixed. Thank you very much and I had a lot of fun.
Replaced the USB via this excellent video. Ordered parts from our friends in China. Came complete with the tiny tools. Works like a charm. Thank you!!!
Thanks a lot! The guitar pick tip was great! I counted 11 screws. Sharp vídeo, clear audio, nice accent and speaking in a good pace didn't let doubts for foreigners viewers! My Note 2 is back from the dead! :)
Great video! My USB port broke on me 11 months after getting my VZW Note 2 last March. It was running fine for me and still on Android 4.1.3,which I still wanted to hang on to. Ended up getting the free replacement from VZW since I was still covered under the 12 month manufacturer's warranty and they gave me a refurbished Note 2 running 4.3. And now it's giving me the "Damaged SD Card" error message. If I saw your video back then, I would've just bought the Samsung spare battery and charger combo while waiting for the USB parts to arrive and then attempt repair. Well made video! 👍
Thank you for this instruction video. I had no idea that the micro USB jack was so easy to replace until you showed me how it's done. Your instructions were good enough that I feel confident enough to order a usb flex cable for my Note 2. Thanks again.
i just replaced my faulty usb port with new usb port.this video help me alot without this video i will never think of changing the usb port by my own..max great video.thanks for making this kind of videos...ur videos always help...my fav tech channel love to watch ur videos...
Thankyou so much for this Tutorial, after a few years of owning my SGN2, my USB began to malfunction sporadically, at first jiggling it worked then it died. Been swapping batteries for ages !!!, finally got around to fixing it just now... I found some evidence of salt water corrosion under and around my USB, but the replacement USB assembly has fixed it 100%, thankyou again !!!
Cannot thank you enough for this guide. Turned my phone from a brick into a fully functioning device. I'll be less careless in future knowing how sensitive these phones are to moisture damage.
Well Done Max! I remember when I my S2's charger was broken, and I didn't know how to fix it, I took it to a shop and they fixed it by 60$, this was the last time doing so, thanks to Maxy Videos!
I want to thank you for this instructive video! I actually took some of my older Samsung phones apart that were damaged and made one good phone. Very easy too!. Thanks again and now to try to figure out how to root my Note 2 to get the bloatware off it.
THANKS a million for taking time to video tape this tutorial! This is a 1st time for doing any "techy" replacement. I was able to replace the usb charging port - The hardest part for me was taking off the back cover (~20-30 minutes). But, I was successfully replace a defective usb charging port ALL to your tutorial! You are a God-send! God Bless and Thank you!
Great video! I successfully replaced the USB module thanks to this video. Some suggestions if you plan to try this. I had a toolkit with a "plastic tool" - skip it and use a guitar pick. The pick is much sturdier and will work much better. As in the video, I had to open and close about 10 times before everything worked properly. Areas to keep an eye on in addition to the wires and connectors that pop open: the power button fell off on mine. If yours does too, note that it is oriented in one direction - look carefully - and hold it in place from the outside with some tape. Also, there are some round black items (I don't know what to call them) that fit into some holes in the cover, they may fall out. Also, there is some rubber around the headphone jack that came loose on mine, probably got loosened by the pick. Use a small flat head screwdriver to put it back in place. At one point the home, back and settings soft buttons on the bottom stopped working, and I thought I'd killed my phone. Turns out that one of the wire connections (long white wire on the right) wasn't fully connected. When I pushed it tightly into place that fixed it. Hope this helps. Be patient and keep at it until it all works.
Disassembled, replaced, reassembled, in less than 10 minutes- thanks to this great tutorial !! Always great things, from GalaxyNote2Root !! Thanks, brutha man :P
Thanks for the video! It was so simple and easy i almost didn't believe that I had actually pulled it off until i plugged in my phone and it actually started charging!
Fantastic! Thanks for the video. I got mine working. The only tricky part was getting the cover off. But once you slowly work around the edges it eased off.
You are AWESOME!!! This worked!!! I didnt even break the phone or anything. Great video!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to video & post this! First time i ever got to use a guitar pic. Being able to fix my phone on my own makes me believe in me. :)
Greetings from 2018! And your video still helped someone. Thank you very much! That little part that got stuck when you put the frame back on, for me it turned out to be some kind of rubber seal around the audio jack.
I did it as you described and am fairly happy with the outcome but there are two things to remember. Pull out memory card - during assembly it can get under the plastic cover - happended to me. The rubber part of a microphone is tricky as it can get somehow twisted during the assembly so it has to be really carefully put into it's place
Thanks for the video Worked on my US Cellular version Note 2. USB to PC still not working, but it's charging now. Bought on eBay for about $17 express shipping.
which rom are you using? I love it cuase you have the original S note in there. Does it also have the features with Samsung like the whole putting the phone up to your ear when you have a contact open and it starts dialing?
happen to know where to get that red wire that you conneccted to the charge port? i did this and it worked very well for a few days! and now the dang thing will not charge. so thinking it may be the lil red wire or the battery??
Hi. Thanks for this video.. my hdmi is not working on my note 2 from sprint, it shows up on the tv and then it gets disconected then connects back on and off and on and off. What do you think? You think is the usb hdmi port? The phone charges fine . I order the usb port on ebay allready anyway. What do you think? Please helppp. Thanks 8n advance. Jorge...
I just replaced my usb port following this guide, with success. The phone now charges, but in the proccess of doing this my screen stopped working. The first time I try to turn it on, I see the screen flicker for a fraction of a second then it goes to black. The screen is still sensitive to touching since it makes sounds when i tap it. I suspect the connector wasn't quite on properly when I first tried to boot it up after opening the phone up. Do you think my screen is broken? Do you have any ideas I could try to get it working again? I've made sure all connectors are properly attached.
Thank you very much for making this video for us to follow. I just swapped out the charging circuit on my Sprint galaxy note 2 which is a little bit different in that the entire trim piece is a single unit and doesn't separate like yours does. Otherwise everything else is identical.
Need help!!! While following the steps to fix my USB port on my galaxy note 2 I was able to make it to the part where you unplug the very tiny gold piece toward the bottom of the phone. Here lies the problem because when I attempted to remove it the tiny gold piece came apart from the blue cable it was connected to. I'm currently trying to reconnect it but I'm not having much luck. Any suggestions? Should I order another blue cable? Problem here is that I don't know what the blue cable is called. Please help....
This non charging/no computer connection problem happened with my T-Mobile Note II also. I had been using a micro USB I had bought on eBay. I noticed it didn't work with my old Note either all of a sudden. Then Samsung told me to try using only their chargers. Go figure! It works fine now. Really, I was thinking is there a difference? Must be.
From what I've heard if you're replacing the whole thing along with the flex cable you should get the exact same model because it could cause problems and mess with your cell phone signal.
my note 2 usb port started getting hot while charging in the car, and then charging stopped, and the charger was not recognized. i was able to charge the phone via wall charger, but it charges very slowly, only going to 68% after charging overnite. should i go ahead and replace the port as you did?
sounds more like a battery issue rather than a charging port one. if it was getting hot i would get a new battery just incase, as well as changing out the port.
Help... my phone now says 'USB not recognized' (device descriptor request failed)... before it wasn't recognised at all but after port change I get this... Also before the problems started I tried to root, which didn't work .
So a couple of weeks ago I dropped my verizon samsung galaxy note 2 in water. Used rice to absorb water and my device still works fine, except it appears that my phone thinks that the battery temperature is too low and cannot charge or use flash. These are the TWO problems I have been encountering since my phone fell in water: 1) Phone cannot charge battery. When plugged into charger, it says "charging paused, battery temperature too low." Appears that phone reads battery at at 32 degrees fahrenheit, even after using 2 different batteries - Fortunately, I have an old note 2 with a broken screen and a spare battery. In order to charge my battery I have to keep swapping the two batteries between the non-charging phone and the broken screen phone. 2) Cannot use the flash on regular camera because of "battery temperature.: However, the flash works fine with all others apps that use the flash, besides the sotck camera app. My question is, do you think that this will fix the problems I am having? It is definitely not a battery problem, even though the phone is saying that it is. Also, is this the right piece needed to replace the charging port with a samsung galaxy 2 for verizon? Should I buy any specific tools? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CLGUWIG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2MP7LRXG3TJKK I ran out of replacement phones for my insurance, and definitly cannot affor da new phone right now. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!!
That happened to me. I bought a new USB connecter, and I installed it however it wasn't the USB connecter, it was the motherboard. So I sent it back to Sammy and they replaced the motherboard for me :-)
I had same problem , but i had to go back and open phone and check that the antenna connection was secure. Turns out it was loose , so be sure to lock in or snap in the antenna with your thumb or finger press firmly but not to hard, Re-watch video and carefully pay attention, when he places the antenna into the slot.
Wow my wife is amazing , she was able to connect the piece back to the blue wire :-) I would still like to know what that wire is called in case I drop my phone and find that it does not charge anymore.
my phone charges just dosnt connect to PC Iv had the usb replaced on phone and tried everything possible every one says it software , how can i root the phone with out odin , with just a zip file in memory , iv tried everything can anyone help ?
