Wow best mod you could do for the money on these cars seriously, it’s night and day going from rubber band shifter to sturdy solid shifting. I used a tiny screwdriver to remove the screws rather than pulling out the seats.
Nice! I added those bushings a while back and really liked them. I believe I also did the cable bushings around the same time. Those two mods plus a short-shifter makes the shifter feel very direct. Way more direct than a stock Miata (no offense to Miatas - great cars). I hate to be all "yo, get these mods, they're the best", but there does seem to be an additive effect going on when you tighten up the shift linkage. Anyway, I enjoyed your video and thanks for uploading!

Because I just bought a 04 MR-2 with 6k miles on it....a sub for you. MORE CONTENT!
Why does it have 8 Bushings? I thought it was 4?
My new baby seems to be missing any kind of intake pipe, so I'll be looking at this again soon. Thanks for the vids dude.
the idea with the rubber bushing is that they absorb some vibration that comes from the gearbox through the cables , at least thats how i see it
Does this apply for a 2001 stock manual 5 speed?

Thanks again man! Ill definitely do the other bushings in the future and maybe a short shifter if i can find one i like.
Sounds great! Really curious what you will think - I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
Where you get or how you made the arm rest?
I made the armrest. I briefly go over it in this video: th-cam.com/video/tkf7D2jgImo/w-d-xo.html
How many miles did your car have at this point? Mine has 39k as of aug-2019
What is accomplished by doing this? I still don't get it
clearer gate, less mis shifting. I had a hard time shifting into second at high revs with my 6 speed.
almost liked the video then i saw it was a mk3 then i threw up and was like who buys these cars? apparently this guy on here.
I don't ride the bus, you seem butt hurt. are you driving a girls car aka "mkIII"
The people who buy them are the ones that want the best mr2 chassis and also the lightest
