- Yes, that's right. The 2025 Toyota Tamaraw is here in the Philippines. So far, Toyota Motor Philippines has not yet revealed any firm details, but this video reveals a few speculations on what specifications our Philippine-spec Tamaraw is going to be like.
Two engines are confirmed, but with two available VVT-i gas engines globally, only one of the gas engines is confirmed to be offered. What is confirmed is a 2.4-liter D-4D turbo diesel that comes with both a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Yes, there will be an automatic version of the Tamaraw.

Definitely this one over the L300. The 2GD is more proven (available across more models) and more powerful than the 4N14. It also runs on a newer and more modern platform than the L300's dinosaur platform. Hopefully the Tamaraw will be able to undercut the L300's pricing, which is its only ace left.
I hope manufacturers release a hybrid version of these pang-kabuhayan vehicles, which will benefit from its fuel efficiency while giving it that extra and instant boost from the hybrid motor/s - ideal for heavy loads.
But with power sharing, you cannot recharge during a brownout 😂

kung ako dito, eto ipapa-modify ko:
-replace 2.4 160 PS with bigger 2.8L with 209 PS
-replace wheels with 6-bolt/nut or 6-hole type from Hilux G and Fortuner G instead of 5 bolt/nut type
-use 4-wheel disc brakes from Fortuner 2.8 Q 4x2
-put dark alloy magwheels from Hilux Conquest for more aggressive look and stance
All cab-chassis based designs? Might look better in MPV/AUV/SUV form.

Mas safe yung Tamaraw sa front end collisions kasi may engine bay sa harap. Mas madali rin iservice in my opinion

Durog katawan mo sa banggaan kahit light head on collision binti mo wala wheel chair ka pa. Kung bukas lang isipan ng tao pag dating sa safety, mas bibilin nila yung may nguso.. tignan niyo yung hiace old face model mga owners gusto nila ng hiace commuter new face dahil may nguso kasi safe eh.
