Most don't know, but a bad quality cable could be the reason, why your phone is charging slowly or not charging at all, same for data transfer.
Exactly. You should always pay attention to quality when it comes to electronics and accessories. Hi whilst I agree your post is way to long for purpose, I actually have this problem and in doing what you have said did not work. However, in a very brilliant way I examined the port and I was totally amazed at the amount of fluff and dirt which is in it, so cleaned it all out, which was a task in itself and behold problem solved. If there is anyone wanting to start a business here's one for you, make a rubber pop in, so this does not happen, a very lucrative deal could be made here. My phone is only 2 years old and the port was so clogged I could not believe it. So I am going to try and clean the other ports as well as I have had a long standing issue with the headphones and it would not surprise me this is the issue too. So you have helped me for sure but someone could make loads of money out of this problem especially as you cannot take phones apart these days easily.
I'm glad you were able to get it worked out. Having dust in your charging port is definitely a problem and so many people don't even realize it until it's too late. It really makes me wonder how many good phones have been thrown away over the years because of a simple problem with a little dust.
@@TrentPierceProjects Yeah your dead right I am going to try and work out a trick using rubber to make some sort of cover inserts, I was so amazed at what was in there. I do not know if there is a micro vac on the market because that maybe worth investing in as well. thanks for your vid though it helped me work this out but as I say I would never have thought it would be dust debris.
Big thumbs up for you. I was amazed how much gunk came out of my Note 5 port. This worked better than bending the prongs, but the two combined have bought my phone back to near new state.
A tip for those who would want a handy tool for cleaning out the socket: Use a piece of the transparent plastic used in blister packs. It is very rigid and very thin, which are perfect for what we need. Trim the tip of your tool so it has a little hook at the end so it can easily scoop up the dust between the contacts and the plug's casing. Trim the other end of your tool to be pointy and straight, so you can get at the corners too.
Thank you very much! I've been having trouble for weeks. My husband wanted me to get a new cell phone, he said it was the deal inside the cell phone itself. I have trouble buying a new cell phone every couple of years. I don't need a whole bunch of apps. :D
WONDERFUL ! After so much twaddle from you tubers telling us we have to reinforce the cable, or shove bits of soft plastic into the port, to clean it. So satisfying now, to discover someone who knows what he's talking about. BIG TA !
Thanks a lot, this video helped me to fix two useless cables. It provides the real solution, other videos only explains how to clean the sockets. I used a needle to raise the protruding pins and forced them with pliers.
I've been repairing my own cables since I got my first cell phone. I have found that the very best thing to use is a small set of fingernail clippers. They act like a very precise pair of tweezers that just get down in there and pull it up so easily.
Wireless charging is nice, but I feel like it isn't as fast as it needs to be. The main problem with wireless charging is that you can't use your phone while it charges
So this method actually did work however I tried to use the screwdriver for sunglasses it was too big even then believe it or not so I had to find some special tweezers that fit the holes

Thanks again
Magnetic USB cable for the win
A tip for those who would want a handy tool for cleaning out the socket:
Use a piece of the transparent plastic used in blister packs. It is very rigid and very thin, which are perfect for what we need. Trim the tip of your tool so it has a little hook at the end so it can easily scoop up the dust between the contacts and the plug's casing. Trim the other end of your tool to be pointy and straight, so you can get at the corners too.
Thanks a bunch. This video and your are advice are greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much! I've been having trouble for weeks. My husband wanted me to get a new cell phone, he said it was the deal inside the cell phone itself. I have trouble buying a new cell phone every couple of years. I don't need a whole bunch of apps. :D
Nice to know. I have a few old cables that are loose. Thanks for this tip.
WONDERFUL !
After so much twaddle from you tubers telling us we have to reinforce the cable, or shove bits of soft plastic into the port, to clean it.
So satisfying now, to discover someone who knows what he's talking about.
BIG TA !
I already bought a new cable, but this fixed an older cable I had. Thank you!
thank you so much...this happened to my new cable..the cable wasnt even a week old
Same..
Thanks a lot, this video helped me to fix two useless cables. It provides the real solution, other videos only explains how to clean the sockets.
I used a needle to raise the protruding pins and forced them with pliers.
Glad I come across this. This as saved me buying a new cable. Keep up the cool idea's.
I've been repairing my own cables since I got my first cell phone. I have found that the very best thing to use is a small set of fingernail clippers. They act like a very precise pair of tweezers that just get down in there and pull it up so easily.
Can u give me more info on how to do this method? Like what position to hold the clippers? I feel like I'm pushing it in more
I'm surprised phones haven't went completely wireless yet because I hate these stupid cables. Its 2019
Wireless charging is nice, but I feel like it isn't as fast as it needs to be. The main problem with wireless charging is that you can't use your phone while it charges
Absolutely agree with Tech Minded. Way to slow and cords are easier to stash. Be kind.
@@TrentPierceProjects there should be a wireless charging case
@@drakenff679 there is
@@bananafruit8004 I know but I should be in al phones
Fantastic kob, good on you! Thanks foe helping buddy.
Thank you for watching
@@TrentPierceProjects Sorry. That was meant to say fantastic job. 😄
@@CherylNegus it's all good. I figured that's what you meant. Thanks again for checking out my channel.
So this method actually did work however I tried to use the screwdriver for sunglasses it was too big even then believe it or not so I had to find some special tweezers that fit the holes
I used a sewing needle too to good effect.
Man you pulled those flickers up so high, they look like vampire fangs. 🧛🏻♀️Great job.
Best thing i used to pry under the prongs is a push 📌 pin. Works 👍
Welp. 2 years later and bam. Easiest instrument of mass non-frustration I've used. Thx for the tip xD
Life saver ! Now I've got one fixed I can go fix all my old ones I got stacked in a corner that don't work yay !
Thanks for the closed caption but it covered up some of the detail.

Thanks! You saved my phone since I don't have any money to buy a new charger 🤗
