My Bluetooth device like action cam and gimbal, (headset still 3.5) I'm not using those often , But how on this planet leave the Bluetooth on when don't use it ? omg
My problem is, I have no place in the house to charge my phone where I can keep checking on the charge. Very difficult to know when to pull the plug at 80% or less; and at that level I would have to charge it several times a day.
For some reason, my phone has been "cutting off" even when I still have 30% left on the battery?!!! 😲 It can leave me stuck at inopportune times! I used to leave my charger at home, but now I'll take it with me, if I know I'm gonna be OUT & NEED to use my phone!!! 📱
It seems a lot of people are thinking the batteries are NiMH or Nickel-metal hydride batteries with memory. Lithium batteries don't have a charge memory. And they like to be charged up anytime even at 70 - 80%.
The technology hasn't changed. Anode on one side, cathode on the other. Electrons travel through a membrane separating the two. Lithium-Ion is better, but it still wears out the membrane in between the two. Barring physical damage, the battery is the part you go get replaced because it wears out not holding as much charge as it did each successive year. It's simple science. Extreme temps make it worse.
When you are using your phone while charging it it will take way more time because the processor heats when charging and if you are using it it will be even hotter and then it will slow down the processor and charging speed!

electrical resistance increases when temperature rises, so CPU’s will slow down when heat increases. Apparently heat (excessive) also shortens CPU’s life. If CPU’s are designed to stop when it overheats I would think this would be in extreme conditions, but I would guess they are designed to slow down gradually to reduce the risk of overheating - but that’s just my guess. Like mentioned in the video, even when the smartphone is charging, it most likely has some processes running in the background anyway, but using the smartphone while charging will - like you mentioned - slow down the charging process, but will also additionally increase the temperature of the CPU and battery excessively - especially when using internet with bad network and/or watching videos. Since high temperature is not desirable for the battery and CPU, that should probably be avoided. I found with experience that ipad charger, charges the iphone faster, turning airplane mode on also helps however marginally - it decreases the use of battery by reducing processes that consume power while charging. Not really sure how accurate this video is, it’s bery generalized at best, but I have been told by apple staff (genius bar) that leaving an iphone plugged in for charging overnigth is not good for the battery, also they said that it’s better to charge the battery full rather than charging it bit by bit. But again this probably is not a major issue with the type of batteries used in todays smartphones, but when done regularly it might have some impact.
Ridiculous. Your phone generates heat WHENEVER it's being used, regardless of whether it's being charged or not, and you're far more likely to get power slowdowns and dangerous overheating from running too many apps at once than you are from the negligible effects of a battery charge. Thanks for the video. I bought a new phone, but the battery died fast when I charge it up, it's a Blu J4, normally when I'm buy a new phone, the battery last long, but not this one. Could you tell me what's wrong?
When im home ive always left my phone in cradle and charging, in all the years ive used a mobile phone has not once affected battery, i also use an old samsung phone as a cctv monitor that is left plugged in 24/7 battery still holds same amount of juice when unplugged as the day i got it, one of the many reasons i always buy Samsung, even if there ever is an issue just buy a new battery and replace.
Number 5 Training your battery Running down the phone and charging it till full will cause it to count a cycle. After so many cycles your capacity goes down
Is that i am alone who think this guys are misguiding us because they have got sponsored by smartphone so that our phone will be damaged and we had to buy a new one
2 is wrong 5 is wrong 6 is wrong 10 is wrong 11 is wrong. "wifi uses less energy than cellular data" yes, but cellular connections use up a ton of energy.
22 years of IT EXP here... I say that 50% is BS. Charging your phone and using it is far slower but it is safe to do so. Your phone will charge 70% faster powered down and the one that bugged me was leaving your Bluetooth on while not in use, yes it does drain batteries up to 40% faster. Some they did get right are task managers and turning your screen down and the extreme hot and cold will damage your battery however in the heat your phone will stop charging to save your battery and phone from damage.
Well I am sure now everything brightside says are not true. As they said in this video "you can use your phone while charging" which is completely wrong. Even if you're doing some normal tasks like checking your emails, your phone will charge little slower than normal(2-5%). But if you're downloading something or playing games your charging process can slow down up to 20% or more than that depending on what you're doing. Because battery is loosing power at same time while charging. Definitely I'd not recommend to use your mobile device while charging.
How about this: it charges at the same rate, *but you are also depleting it while you use it.* So it doesn't really charge more slowly, but it does take longer to charge.
@@FuzzyElf I suggest run a test. Use your device while charging. After 10 days check your battery strength. If you find same as it was before update here. I have used several devices from different manufacturers, and I found the same result.

Nice tips but I struggle with the advice not to charge on wireless charger to prevent heat. Here is my findings: the charging port was the first thing on all our phones that gave up after 1-2years, while the battery was still in good condition! Thus I am trying wireless charging now to prevent the charging port from spoiling. Maybe it will affect battery life but by now I haven't detected a notable heat during charging.
it is fine to do both lithium batteries can work up to 50 Celsius and although this will do some damage it would take days before any capacity would be permanently lost
Turning off Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi to prolong the battery life. 8:42 I stopped at this cos i have personally turned off my wifi and Bluetooth when my batt is low to save it and it worked. This dude surely doesnt know what he is saying
thanks; I just got wi-fi calling -AT&T - and have noticed a faster battery drain! I will turn off and see if this makes a difference; altho' it's a older phone, and I have a difference charger, plus have had to replace the connection to charge.. mysteries of smartphones, ah!
So to summarize 1. Don't let your battery die or 0% because it will lose its chemical reactions inside thus might damage the battery. 2. 100% doesn't typically mean full, as it is only an indicator but it is good practice to constantly charge so to avoid #1. 3. Don't let your battery heat up by leaving it in hot temperatures/conditions. When it is fully charged, plug it off.

2:35 you can use your phone while it's charging. Another video from bright side: don't use your phone while it's charging
So which one is it? I've been searching in google as well and the answers are mixed...

Im no rocket scientist but my phone even tells me through my notifications to not use it while its charging so that the battery will charge faster
well wrong, my tablet even charges faster when it is turned on, when it is turned off it takes longer it seems!
of course it will you cant use and charge at the same speed because the phone is taking power to run.
bt of course either way isn't hurting it
@@harleyme3163 common sense
He never said it charges at the same rate if you use it when charging, he just said that it is okay to use your phone when charging.
Thats common sense of course it charges slower, because when it's turned on it uses some power.
Thank you so much for this video❤

After watching no.2 I plugged out my charger correctly not the power plug but the micro USB cable but after I watch "leaving your charger plugged into the power plug can't harm" nah... Just following steps on bright side heeehehehehe....
He said in a video 3 years back charge your new phone to 100% now you dont have to charge it to 100%
Me: am i joke to you
I understand you but its OK to learn the mistakes of the other things and teach the otherwise to people. I hope you do understand.

Android be like, what a pointless video. Didn't even use 1% to watch the entire thing.
What about NFC.
Am I imagine that it drains the battery?
nfc = pushing out high frequenzy vawes with a lot of energy, justl like wifi,
so yes nfc => heavy drain

You posted a video about the damages of charging at night but in this video you said there is no damages in charging battery at night
Yes exactly
When im home ive always left my phone in cradle and charging, in all the years ive used a mobile phone has not once affected battery, i also use an old samsung phone as a cctv monitor that is left plugged in 24/7 battery still holds same amount of juice when unplugged as the day i got it, one of the many reasons i always buy Samsung, even if there ever is an issue just buy a new battery and replace.
Really helpful!

Running down the phone and charging it till full will cause it to count a cycle. After so many cycles your capacity goes down

Hey Bright Side can you tell me what app do you usually use to make(or fix) these videos.
Is that i am alone who think this guys are misguiding us because they have got sponsored by smartphone so that our phone will be damaged and we had to buy a new one

Thanks for your help and advice on this matter. Thanks again.
2 is wrong

11 is wrong. "wifi uses less energy than cellular data" yes, but cellular connections use up a ton of energy.
90% is wrong dont believe this bs
My phone charges a LOT faster when its off....this video is already not reliable.......
I agree
Get a higher amp charger.
Fenix Bloodstone
Bluetooth being used may drain 40% faster but if its just on it uses very little.

Them saying you can use your battery while its charging was in reference to it damaging you're battery of course its going to charge slower
@@DAY-ht4go And where does one obtain a "battery strength detector?"
You don't need a detector for that. You can do it by yourself.
Lesson learned: Don't watch Brightside videos😂
This TH-cam make me can sleep at know I love that 😆 keep up
2:15 When you charging your phone, it create heat on your phone but when using your phone (watching video or playing game) while charging , will it overheat the phone and damage your battery?
yup and also the tension that is getting put on the phone e.g when using it portrait whule charging abd not lifted of your chest bed/ground bending while gaming etc will damage not only the cord but over time the phone plug it self idunno what to call it will get loose
Me: *watching this while charging my phone*
This video is sponsored by phone manufacturers so our phone can break faster and so we can buy a new phone right away.
my mom: why was there an explosion

my mom: what why

It's very helpful tnx😀😉😁
Good one
Manufacturers recommend fully charging before first use.
I just went into a phone shop and they *don't*
I know it's hard!! But last time, I charge my phone and at the end my phone got blown up :( *because I charge it overnight*

Do remember that Wireless charging is much slower, less efficient and will generate way more heat so Wired Charging is way better
It is true that when your using you phone while charging I've been doing this kind of thing since I got my phone and yet nothing happen
Andrea Dela Cruz but ur phone is hot when u use it and charge and this breaku ur battery
DUMDUM YIR PHONE MIGHT GET DAMAGED!
it is fine to do both lithium batteries can work up to 50 Celsius and although this will do some damage it would take days before any capacity would be permanently lost
When my phone's battery is under 35%, it starts losing 1% per minute. Weird.
Justin Haraway thanks

Yeah, giving people tech advice and debunking "myths" with half-assed knowledge is what makes the internet go round...
will turn off and see if this makes a difference; altho' it's a older phone, and I have a difference charger, plus have had to replace the connection to charge.. mysteries of smartphones, ah!
But screen off makes battery usage go to extremd low

Wait,
Why on earth is the phone charging from the headphone jack?
So to summarize
