  • How to cook a hanger steak on the Weber using my hanger steak recipe.
    Hi welcome to Schueys BBQ, where you’ll learn the tips and tricks to Master your Grill.     Today I’m grilling Hanger Steaks.
    Now hanger steaks are also known as butchers steak, mainly because these steaks tasted so good, the butchers were being greedy and taking them home and not sharing them with us HaHa
    Now they do need a bit of trimming, they not only have all of this silver skin on them that we can trim off with a sharp knife, but they also tend to have a bit of excess outer fat as well, take off as much or as little as you want.
    I used a simple SPG (Salt, Pepper, Garlic) seasoning. Equal parts of salt flakes, fine black pepper and garlic powder.
    While grilling, turn them every minute or so, we want to take the internal temp of the steaks to 51c (125f), then when they come off for a rest, they will climb around another 3 degrees to the perfect 54c (130f) medium rare.

    Hi Schuey, just grilled it following your instructions! People were to be bats and declared never to have eaten a steak better than that! Thanks a lot for your instructions and please don't mind me pushing this to a 3-beers cook. (we had 8°C ambient and a lots of wind)

    I’m interested in if there’s a pork hanger steak or venison version, hanger is one of my favs and has never let me down, more flavour and tenderness than tenderloin
