I'm new to grilling (just got a yard for the first time), and purchased a Weber kettle because of you. Seriously, thanks for providing quality content on backyard bbq - it has been very helpful!
Great choice. You can do everything on a Kettle and they'll last nearly forever. I reccomend getting a Slow n Sear. Best attachment I've ever purchased for any of my dif style grills/ smokers.
I too am getting a Weber kettle because of your mods that make it more useful. By the way, I currently have a offset smoker that works well for my smoker needs. I just really love the look of the copper kettle.
Dude!!! Just made some ribs using some of your suggestions and they came out absolutely amazing!!!!! Smoked indirectly on the Weber using applewood. Cooked to an internal temperature of around 190-200. About an hour before pulling them off, I coated them with light brown sugar. Let them sit about 20-30 minutes and my family was floored how good they were!!! Fall off the bone goodness!!! Thanks a million!!!!
I'm sorry to say that most of what I had learned about grilling when I was younger was not great BBQ, just OK backyard stuff, and that it carried through until I was recently gifted a Weber Kettle Performance Deluxe that had been used maybe a dozen times. This video gave me the green light to try out what I had learned and of course managed to produce some mouth watering ribs that even my skeptical wife was pretty jazzed about. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I celebrate 71 in a few weeks and I'm still rockin n' rollin...
I have been using a Weber Kettle for 20 years now, I really enjoy watching you cook on it. Just illustrates that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to fix good bbq! Thanks for the video!
Thanks Chud! I started using your recipe/method for baby backs on the Weber last summer and it’s been my go to for the last +12 months. Got me a slow and sear because of this episode. I have managed to fit 2 racks on the Weber with pretty good results, ideal is 1 rack for sure.
I'm glad Fogo is sponsoring you. It has you smoking on the Weber. I've been smoking BBQ for 30 plus years and just recently added a Weber to my other smokers. Kind of returning to my roots, so to speak. It gets the job done and with the addition of the SNS, it rivals any smoker out there. I've heard that Blacks' BBQ in Texas says it comes the closest to making their brisket. Happy Q !!
Thanks for a great vid, Bradley. Did my 1st weber kettle smoke session with 2 racks, made a great Easter side dish lol! I don't have a slow-n-sear so I snaked, checked the meat several times and kept it opposite the lit coals, generous hickory chips atop. Pulled at 190, rested 30min, these looked great and tasted great. This method is extremely approachable, and a weber is in range of nearly any budget, as are the $10 baby back racks at GFS. I did pull membranes as a matter of protocol, and didn't really worry about checking the meat and losing heat, weber builds it back in minutes. 275 is effortlessly easy to maintain for 5 hours once intake/outtake vents are set. Thanks again, looking forward to some more Chuds-guided weber adventures in my driveway! 🍖🍻
I took a wine cork and cut it lengthwise with a carpet knife. Then slid it on top of the aluminum vent on the lid of my weber kettle. It works awesome for adjusting the vent without burning your finger👍
Hilarious! You are a HOOT and a half. Wow what a video. I switched back to charcoal about 2.5 years ago but have only done burgers and steaks and chicken. Today will be first time doing ribs. This video was SO very helpful. Thank you my friend!
Subscribed and liked, well earned! Have tried many TH-cam channels for rib recipes and this one over delivered. You have my attention for future cooks. Keep it up.
This kettle series is great! The slow n’ sear was a good addition to the kettle accessories. Easy to do a pork butt, rack of ribs, or a small brisket and not mess with the offset if I am trying to get other stuff done that day.
I have a Weber Performer GBS Charcoal BBQ and it is the most used cooking tool. I can do pizza, spit roast, roasts, curries, burgers and anything you want. Best thing is a Weber Kettle 🔥 Keep on grillin
I am curious about this as well. I like the lower placement on the vent side. I didn't realize this was a DIY project and kept looking for this different grill. Of course I couldn't find it. Great idea.
I recently direct grilled ribs on my Weber and they were great, curious what you’d think of them? Maybe a comparison video between smoked and direct grilled
Bradley, I love your videos. Makes me feel at home every time. The nice and simple take to TH-cam that you have is amazing! I don’t believe you advertise your products much. Can I purchase your rubs and merchandise somewhere online? I definitely think you should market yourself more. In my opinion, your videos are the best and most informational in regards to bbq.
Bro I’m loving these Weber kettle vids. Would love to see a 22 vs 26 inch video from your perspective since many people put the 26 in the middle ground of being a good smoker and a traditional kettle.
I run both regularly. Biggest difference besides the capacity is charcoal consumption. 26 takes a little more fuel to maintain temps. Once you learn where to set the vents, they are both just as easy to run. Also, I have the slow n sear's in both. Good product.
I’ve just discovered your channel and it’s great! You do an awesome job explaining your methods super easy to follow. My question today is for multiple racks of ribs on the Weber what do you do?
I guess I'm gonna have to bust out my red limited edition model Weber and start cooking on it again. Been doing most of my charcoal cooking on my PK360 which is an awesome little cooker! Keep up the great work!
Brad, love all the videos and you have a knack for entertainment. What are your thoughts on the new "Made by Meat" grinder you are using now. Inn your opinion is it worth the money.
Thanks for making the video, I'm getting a new Kettle soon and this is really helpful. One question - what are you pouring the water into? Is that just a pan at the bottom?
Hey Brad, yeah that takes me back. The Weber was what I cooked my first ribs on, the result was edible (Super hard to really screw'em up), but certainly not the results I get all these years later. Anyway, cool to see it being used on the channel, it really is a great BBQ pit. Cheers
Does lump give off less flavor than briquettes? I just ran out of a bag of Kingsford Blue and I'm doing a brisket this weekend with my kettle. I'm interested using the method you used in this video.
Another great video! I really like the Weber kettle's versatility. I have dedicated smokers but if I could only choose one unit it would be my Weber Performer deluxe. They are just great all arounders. My next BBQ accessory will probably be the slow and sear. Love the channel content!
Quick question. Isn't 5 hours a lot for ribs? Like a lot-lot? Like too much? Usually mine are done in 2.5 hours at 275 so I'm having a hard time identifying how the advantages of additional ''fall of the bones'' and added smokiness can compensate for the added dryness of the lean part... Love the channel!
It depends on how you like your ribs. I personally don't like fall-off-the-bone ribs and perfer mines with more of a bite to them so I smoke mines for about 3 hours.
If you smoke them lower and slower you render more fat. If you go 4+ hrs you won't even feel the skin on the back. It'll just snap right through. 3 is pretty quick. We are trying to offset heat/render all the fat out. Which makes for a juicier rib. Either way they are done when they are done. But 3 hrs, you aren't cooking them offset. And you miss out on the rendered fat adding to the juiciness of the meat. Hot and fast with ribs is like the least optimal way to cook them in my humble opinion. Baby backs 4+, all other pork ribs 6+.
I'm new to grilling (just got a yard for the first time), and purchased a Weber kettle because of you. Seriously, thanks for providing quality content on backyard bbq - it has been very helpful!
Chud isn't the hero we deserve, but the hero we need.
Had a kettle for 6-7 years love it
Welcome to the que family. Keep on smoking!

I don't care what anyone says, I love me some baby backs! Great job dude!

I love you man! Best BBQ channel hands down, so down to earth dude. Ribs and Weber ftw!!
The Weber videos are what the world needs right now.
That's the energy that deserves a sub

What do you set the bottom vents at?
I love this dude's energy!
You’re making my mouth water here. Great vid!
Thanks for a great vid, Bradley. Did my 1st weber kettle smoke session with 2 racks, made a great Easter side dish lol! I don't have a slow-n-sear so I snaked, checked the meat several times and kept it opposite the lit coals, generous hickory chips atop.

You sir are a genius! Thanks!
Free…alcoholic….hack. Cheers. Doing that after my next wine. 🎉 😂
Smart

Nice colour.

Keep on grillin
And… another one! Those ribs look amazing man! Much love ❤️
Nice video on the ribs! By the way, I like the thermometer that you installed on your kettle lid. Did you use a special drill bit? Thanks!
I am curious about this as well. I like the lower placement on the vent side. I didn't realize this was a DIY project and kept looking for this different grill. Of course I couldn't find it. Great idea.
Thanks for the great information on bbqing baby backs on the Weber kettle. Wanting g to add one to my backyard arsenal very soon!.
I use a rub to cook with then finish with plum jelly and wrapped in foil. For 20 minutes. Really good stuff.
LOVE this Weber series. Thanks so much!
Gonna try the brown sugar at the end. Great idea!
You sir are an fn'n legend. Love these weber videos!
Thanks for the Weber series, just purchased a Weber Kettle master touch
I recently direct grilled ribs on my Weber and they were great, curious what you’d think of them? Maybe a comparison video between smoked and direct grilled
I noticed you used lump charcoal which I prefer but can I use just standard charcoal and still have similar results??
Awesome..I love the simplicity of these cook.
Awesome as always. BUT wait - was there no snake in Bradley's boot??
Could you cook two racks in that same grill with the same amount of charcoal and timing or would that need to increase?
my weber will be hre today and i have some spare ribs lol this is perfect
Could watch your videos every day! Thanks for doing so many of them. Always entertaining and informative
I will be adding brown sugar to my next rib cook. Thank you for the Weber series.
I made these ribs and my friends said it was the best ribs they've ever had
Another fantastic video and cook! Keep the weber series going please!
Looks delicious. Thanks for sharing. I’m always Smokin ribs.
Hard to beat Kettle ribs. This is a excellent demo! Thanks for posting it!
Love this method. Did snake method last time but going with this method for a rack of St Louis and a rack of loin back
Man...I was like a a dog... Salivating 😊 wow!!
Assuming the wood chunks are soaked - how long do you have to soak them before using this method?
Looks great man! Nice and easy rib recipe that looks real tasty
Love all your videos Chud, BUT, Who makes just 1 slab of ribs ??
What do yoh do if you don’t have the slow n sear? I’m new to kettle grilling
Fan-taste-tic video...Love the brown sugar application 👍
I love doing ribs on the Weber! I like to wrap them and add a little bit of bourbon😛
Delicious!!! We enjoy your videos.
Got a question, what size is your Weber?
I love my kettles! I got the 22.5 and the 26 inch. Once you getm figured out they hold a temp like a champ!
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
nice vid, cant wait til I get my webber
Bradley, I love your videos. Makes me feel at home every time. The nice and simple take to TH-cam that you have is amazing! I don’t believe you advertise your products much. Fantastic. Amazing ribs, with simple recipe, and to the point.
Bradley, how about doing a separated brisket flat and point cook?
Do one using the snake method. Another great one.
Woo man glad to see there were no snakes in boots this ep, bout time those boots got a break
Love your energy. I going to try it your way!
i do ribs on my kettle once a wek for sure. all i had in the 70s to cook on
When controlling the temps, do you always have the bottom vent open and control the temps from the top vent?
I love your videos I have learned a lot from your videos

Mate any tips for smoking ribs on a bullet smoker?
really enjoying the weber series. I love my traeger because of ease of use, but it's always fun to light up the grill every once and a while.
Nice ,what was the final temperature 🌡
Since summer is coming I have always wondered how to make/prepare summer sausage. Have you ever made it?
Love me some baby backs! Good stuff! 🍻
what cleaner for the webber did you use? water?
I’ve just discovered your channel and it’s great! You do an awesome job explaining your methods super easy to follow. My question today is for multiple racks of ribs on the Weber what do you do?
Theys on the razors edge.. Hats off.
These baby ribs so good. The Wolf Cook Favorite. 😀
Where did you get the leather knife roll? And thanks for making this Weber Kettle series.
Great content as always, do you use your rub on your brisket?
I love the Weber vids. What about doing some Kamado or maybe a Gravity fed smoker video. Just an idea.
Looks awesome as usual !
Im cooking ribs right now, just wrapped them and now im watching this!
do you control clean vs dirty smoke on the weber?
Hey buddy what final temp do you go for if you were looking at it?
I guess I'm gonna have to bust out my red limited edition model Weber and start cooking on it again.
Been doing most of my charcoal cooking on my PK360 which is an awesome little cooker!
Keep up the great work!
Brad, love all the videos and you have a knack for entertainment. What are your thoughts on the new "Made by Meat" grinder you are using now. Inn your opinion is it worth the money.
Can I cook direct heat on an egg / kettle joe cooker similar to the Chud Box ? Say pork steaks?
Is there any benefit for waiting for grill to get to temperature before putting meat on?
pour a little bit beer over it ! it will be more tasty ;)
Just bought a used webber kettle. This'll be the first thing I cook on it.
Who needs a knife roll when you always pick the red knife! LOL Great videos!!!!!!!!
Thanks for making the video, I'm getting a new Kettle soon and this is really helpful. One question - what are you pouring the water into? Is that just a pan at the bottom?
Oh, I just found your Best Weber Kettle Setup vid. :)
Looking good to me too! Any thoughts carnitas on the Weber? I would love to see your rendition.
Hey Brad, yeah that takes me back. The Weber was what I cooked my first ribs on, the result was edible (Super hard to really screw'em up), but certainly not the results I get all these years later. Anyway, cool to see it being used on the channel, it really is a great BBQ pit. Cheers
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
You should do an experiment on frozen vs fresh (ribs and brisket). Know it affects the fat, but is it a huge difference?
Does lump give off less flavor than briquettes? I just ran out of a bag of Kingsford Blue and I'm doing a brisket this weekend with my kettle. I'm interested using the method you used in this video.

3,2,1 ribs always work
