09:20 this is something that confuse people about Climates&Calories: Sometimes, there is no solution. In extreme weather there is no way to be perfectly comfortable. You are playing a nord and you are in the deep desert. He will always find it too hot. This is fine. Just dress as lightly as you can and suffer through it. However, wearing actual shoes, long pants, shirt and cloak is too much for the poor guy. (Just make damn sure you do not run out of water in this climate with a nord or you'll pretty much faceplant from the heat in no time) You can get a similar experience with redguards if you go into Wrothgarian Mountains where there just is not enough clothes to make you comfortably warm all the time. In a pinch, remember that you can throw on a Resist Fire potion/spell to handle more warmth ;) Edit: Also, rain is not always your enemy. Bogart likely just finds it refreshing. No reason to try to avoid it. I sometimes survive desert travel by soaking in pools I find in settlements ;)

It's a bit scary when death is on the line, but we'll figure out the safest way to maneuver in the desert, like dipping in pools and traveling when it's not so warm I also didn't know potions would help! I really agree with your comments on not forcing yourself to do unnecessary things if you do not enjoy them or find them otherwise useful or helpful. I also like your comment on how focusing on finishing a game really can ruin your enjoyment of the middle. The end and the goal is always functioning a a source of direction and unity for the adventure, but it shouldn't be the only thing that is desirable. Playing videogames or reading novels should not be something we endure just to be able to be finished. Your remarks on completionism are very on point, I think. It is always plainly evident when a let's player is only playing a game to be done with it and when they are playing the game to enjoy it or show it off to their viewers. Anyway, good stuff man.

At the end of it I could barely remember what the books were about. It was like I was doomscrolling with pages instead of slowing down and letting myself savor the experience and chew on the author's message a bit.

28:20 definitely it's a lot of things, but the working out, in my experience, is a big factor. Back when I used to work out 4.5 days a week, I was eating more in one meal than I would in a day now (I work out 0 days).

@@toewoe I don't write down the names or anything like that, I think it's just something I'm good at. When I was a teacher, I had deliberate strategies for memorizing names. Normally I can kind of remember interactions from the comment section, but saying the user name out loud helps a lot. My buddy and I read your question for the Q&A episode, so now Toe Woe is solidified in my memory for the long haul
Kenshi is really complex once you get to a macro level of doing civilization shit, but you can also keep it pretty simple with one super person or an elite small team. Super worth checking out at least, had some absolutely insane and fun times in it.
So lately I was thinking of something, a big flaw of Daggerfalls dungeons imo, is that they reset, they could lend themselves well to the D&D megadungeon style of delving into the dungeon, return to town, then go back until you clear it. Maybe "Save dungeon progress" can be a mod in the future.
@@justsomedude5727 I couldn't agree more with the sentiment. The dungeon resets kill immersion and make it easy to loop through dungeons for copious loot. In terms of dnd, megadungeons SHOULD be restocking. If a megadungeon is restocking every few weeks to months, this incentivizes finding secret doors through the level/passages to lower levels. It will make a first level dungeons floor still risky, even for a third level party.
I've got a girl (5) and a boy (almost 2) and yeah it's a whole different experience! This little guy is actively trying to cause maximum damage to himself 😂. My grey hairs have become white. But wouldn't change it!
Language characters are my favorite, so I'm sure we'll have a couple more on this channel eventually. Bogard is a lot of fun, but he's starting to feel like easy mode with this huge HP pool. While I enjoy your videos for your dedication to the character's storytelling and general philosophy, I do sometimes find it hard to listen to you after a while. It's not that the things you're saying aren't interesting, or that your voice is dislikeable -- it's a fine voice -- rather you don't often pause when speaking. This is of course just a personal preference but I think the audio part of your adventures would benefit if you sometimes slowed down and took the time to articulate points and leave some space for yourself without shifting immediately from topic to topic. I realize this is partially due to the reality of things popping up during play and having to get back to previous lines of thought, but I and I think many others would still watch your videos even if you weren't talking nearly continuously, and may even feel the space adds drama to certain situations that may come up. No offense intended as your streams are otherwise very entertaining.
Thank you for the feedback! I must admit that I am just a chatty Kathy irl as well, so this may be a tough habit to break. However, I do feel a bit pressured to be "on" all the time while recording, and I get nervous when I'm not saying anything because I don't want listeners to be bored. Hopefully I'll strike a balance going forward.
