With a voice like that. You’d think she’d have a huge ego. But her humility and humbleness makes me love her as an artist even more. Her speaking voice is just as magical as her singing voice. She is definitely in my top 5 vocalists of ALL time!!
I'll never forget her. She came into a restaurant I was working at as a waitress in the 80's in L.A., and I had been crying because I had been being abused by the management. Despite the fact she was with a man who was madly in love with her, she turned all her focus on me, telling me I was beautiful, amazing, and showering me with love and attention. She turned everything around for me, and although I had no idea who she was, I swore I would never forget her face or her warm and caring voice... and then I saw it and heard it again, on 20 feet from stardom. It is no coincidence that such a soulful and stellar talent is partnered by a great soul. She came to my rescue, and this music does too. Thank you, Lisa Fischer. Thank you, Caroline, for giving tribute to this divine woman.
Caroline Lawson Wonderful, thank you Caroline! We rarely get to tell those angels that point us in the right direction thanks- also would like to add that it gave me the courage to quit that job and pursue my art full time. As a result I have gotten to create sculpture and enrich the world too. Isn't it fascinating that when one works from the heart and spirit it can set off a ripple effect of good that is infinitely more powerful, enduring, true, and magical than any fame or material wealth? I think that's as the real stardom- radiating such bright goodness. Fame is transient, the flame of the soul is forever, so is all the good she has done.
Lisa Fisher is The Rolling Stines little sister and their chemistry is "Crazy!" When you have leagends on stage for decads and still having fun is a blesaing!❤❤❤
I saw her sing Gimme Shelter at the Stones concert. I was floored....her voice live is jaw dropping GREAT. She got the biggest ovation among the 60,000 concert goers.
THE PEDOPHILE EXPOSING BOUNTY HUNTER she doesn’t look the same, obviously. She aged, as a normal human being does. She might have gained weight, but to call her fat, ugly and a slob? Low. That’s low. She’s still beautiful, she still has that smile that made her so fucking gorgeous. She oozes with peacefulness and looks so free. She’s feeling good and loving life, and I love her for that.
Lisa Fischer has got to be one of my very favorite singers. Gorgeous, humble, friendly, down-to-earth, SUCH A VOICE!!! Thanks for putting this together!
To see Lisa live is like nothing else. I saw her live two years ago solo and nothing will ever compare. Don't miss out. Go to wherever she is. She doesn't need Mick to blow your mind. Thank you Caroline, for posting this.
she was the best addition to the Rolling Stones. she is so powerful and confident!!! i think she gives herself less credit than deserves for Gimme Shelter. Lisa kills Gimme Shelter every time
Until I saw Twenty Feet From Stardom, my awareness of Lisa was 'just a kiss away'!! I vaguely remember that she won that Grammy, I vaguely remember that she had that single 'How Can I Ease the Pain', and I vaguely remember seeing her sing with the Stones (on TV). But after watching her in the film w/ footage from Sting commentary, her vocal gymnastics just blew me to the very core. Her instrument is otherworldly, and when you put that w/ her lack of ego..the attraction to her is infectious. I am a new fan. Thank you so much for this loving tribute. I am only 10 minutes in and am crying from her power to touch something deep within the listener.
Lisa is like no other. I saw her live last night and, as always, was completely blown away. Her vocal control, power, and range are unmatched. Seeing her live is an unforgettably moving experience. Love you Lisa!
This woman!!! Unbelievable!!! I saw her in concert back in early 90s...her voice-angelic. One of my all time favorite singers, so wished she had put out more stuff. I look her up a lot and catch her in live short performances, mostly doing backup.
I am ashamed that Lisa has been off my radar for music for some years and rediscovered her through a simple search on google. "Who sang backup to Gimme Shelter?" That led me to Merry Clayton that lead to the Documentary 20 feet from Stardom, that led to seeing Lisa Fischer and then connecting, "How Can I Ease the Pain" I have been watching anything Lisa for the last week. Her voice does it for me. Pure talent!
OMG. I'LL NEVER GET OVER THIS SONG. I MEAN The lyrics, her beauty, her vocals. 😍 I so LOVE her with one of the greatest bands to ever have to existed. She and the Rolling Stones were absolutely AMAZING. They totally loved each other.
She's one of my idols! I'm a 16 years old musician who has big aspirations in life. This woman has influenced me in so many ways. She's truly a musical genius when using her voice 😧 Her vocals are astounding! Thank you, Lisa Fischer, for being a great role model! My wish is to sing with you sometime in my adulthood. You're truly a vocal Titan 👏
Lisa is such a beautiful talented person. She should truly be a star upfront and center in her own right. I can't get enough of hearing her sing. I don't think she takes enough credit for how good she really is. She is one of the most selfless talent I have ever seen.
LOVED this entire clip---didn't even realize it's 37 mins long! Lisa is one of those people with such a great talent and yet so unknown. When Justin Beiber, Myley Cyrus and other clowns, buffoons and pretenders to music run rampant making millions of $$$ yet the Lisa Fischers go unnoticed---that's just not fair. The closing words are stunningly amazing----wonderful, wonderful sentiment!
Oh I do remember Lisa Fischer.....GREAT VOCAL POWER A awesome gorgeous woman.......but above all a wonderful singer I agreed with Straightupshooter, Mick never look or sounder better than when Lisa was tearing it up along side him!!!! :-) Welcome Muy Bien/Very Good Caroline
I just watched 20 Feet from Stardom on Netflix and discovered Lisa Fischer for the first time. All the ladies featured on the documentary are fabulous. But the Gimme Shelter piece with Merry Clayton and LF was amazing. I had no idea what a difference their contribution made to this classic song - both in the original recording & live performances! Made my husband watch last night - he was blown away as well. Thank you so much for this tribute to this amazingly talented woman. (I'm running out of suitable adjectives!)
THANK YOU. Thank You. thank you. The best female vocalist EVER! If she had ever taken up any of the offers of being signed up, we would never have had this legacy she has given us. What a vocalist, and that's all she wanted to be, so many stars realised this and gave her the spot she deserved and they were lucky enough to have her fill. I love you Lisa, not just the best female vocalist of all time, but many steps above anyone who thinks they could claim that crown, alive, passed or to come. I hope to still be alive when I hear such beauty again and can acknowledge it.
She's done work with the greatest rock n roll band in the world? One Direction? Wow, I never knew that! I jest, I jest. She and the Stones are both on a completely other plain than the rest of us schleps.
The first time I ever saw & heard Lisa was the Luther Vandross concert at Wembly Stadium. What a sight for sore eyes and boy could she sing. I was so happy for her when she won her Grammy, talent like this doesn't come around very often. Great Tribute, thanx for posting
I am ashamed to confess that I had no knowledge of Lisa until this summer's Rolling Stones concert in Israel. Wow!!! This woman is a force of nature. A soul so big that when she switched it on, I started gasping for air. Nothing I can verbalize will do this singer justice. Just wow!
I Ms. Fischer at MSG along with Luther Vandross, she was absolutely awesome and amazing… I sat in the second row , I listened to her story behind the song , How can I ease the pain. She had me mesmerized. I loved her ever since. Loads of Love to you Ms. Lisa Fischer! 💕💕💕🌺💕💕💕
having fiiiiiiiiiiinally watched "20 Feet From'' this afternoon, of course i loved Darlene... been following her for a bit... but woah sweet damn... Lisa... what a what a what a voice and more than than, what a sweet, humble, true gem... can now officially proclaim i LOVE her! thanks for this post!!!
Same. I watched it last night and wasn't expecting to fall in love with Lisa's spirit. I've alway loved her from the Luther days .What a beautiful soul ,thanks for putting this together Caroline.x
Thank you for this great compilation. Much more than a tribute. My fav Lisa memory has always been at 3:05 when Lisa smacks Mick upside the back of his head while she scoots behind him. Then Mick nudges Bernard at 3:12, like "Lisa is a goddess, for real!" Love it! And, starting @ 11:55, Lisa is so humble in reference to answering about the inspiration she drew from Merry Clayton regarding Gimme Shelter. (LF is like 10 years younger than MC, but attacked it 20 years after original recording in '69!) Whoa. Then, 16:38 & 16:49, never mind running the mike up and down her long legs, I dig that little kick thing she does with her feet! Whoa ditto! Then her eyes duetting with MJ during MM. Then that wonder power woman carried it from 18:06 to 18:15! Lisa always performs with grace and class, never slutty or overbearing. She holds her place. And then when she break it down, OMG! And not to forget the Luther period. Entertainment at its best! I'm impressed. And then, our girl on guitar! Whew! I just want to hug her. She belts! And Lisa looked stunning and proper accepting her grammy! What a cute, sincere personality. So glad I happened across this tonight. I'm a happy happy girl right now. I will def be revisiting and re-viewing. Great job. Well documented. Well done, Miss Caroline!
From one Caroline to another - "thank you". Lisa Fischer is one of the world's most brilliant vocalists - yet - despite doing a 25 year stint with The Stones is still so under-used. If I was a producer she'd be top 'o my list. And in terms of the docu 20 Feet From Stardom - I actually think she got a bit nearer to the front. I LOVE her. ! Thanks again C
Thanks Caroline - I love that woman. She's funky, jazzy, bluesy, full of soul and she rocks. A wonderful compilation. But for me, the moment that stole my heart was when she sings in the 20 Feet From Stardom documentary - improvised and heartbreaking in its beauty
Maggie Clune Thanks for watching Maggie. Lisa continues to put some incredible vocals out there. So much so that I think there will soon have to be a Part 2 to this video!
Mick is not exactly easy to sing with due to his proclivity for changing his note, scatting and chopping notes off when they're typically held. Lisa backs him up brilliantly-holding back when necessary, and picking harmonies that not only elevate the overall performance of the song but making Mick push himself to keep up. Beautiful. :)
Nice montage of great moments of Lisa Fischer. My first encounter with her and still my favorite of her is her contribution on Gimme Shelter. Mary Clayton is awesome on the original recording, but Lisa was given the opportunity to take it live on tour with the Stones for some many years and what a fabulous contribution she has made... :) Thanks for this compilation! :)
if the internet was big when she was getting popular she would've been HUGE she's so likable and talented she'd have swarms of fans supporting her through the internet awaiting for all of her songs
I totally agree. With the Internet, the FANS can share and promote talent when they see it. We don't have to wait for the Industry to decide to sign an artist and all that jazz...
my gosh, thank you for sharing. I totally fall in love with her voice, her personality, her big Soul and Heart. She is pure and gives me chills all over. wow....wished she had more CD´s
She's effortlessly down to earth, and it shows in her singing. She is always WITH the music, not on top of it. Her real power isn't the sheer timbre and range of her voice, but how she keeps it all under control and shows its fullness only at the right moment. This is a woman who isn't only a monster vocalist but also a tasteful musician and a great person in general. One word I can think of to represent her is "grace". She is so graceful--like a dancing flame! That, for me, is why she is "different."
I first saw her in Dallas Aug 1989 with the Stones She was beautiful, had the awesome figure, and could out sing anyone alive.....blows the mind why she is not the number one artist in the world...
Just watched "20 Feet From Stardom" - WOW! WOW! WOW! goosebumps, shivers, tears..blow my mind heavenly powerful voices #LisaFischer #MerryClayton #DarleneLove. Love Love Love LISA!
This woman has a voice unknown to mankind, above and beyond anything that we think is humanly possible, the greatest singer The Rolling Stones has ever had w/them........ long may u/run✌🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸
Hello Caroline. So honeroud and flatterd to be included in this super great tribute video ( 14.30 minutes in ) for Lovely Lisa Fischer The band had a wonderfull time with Lisa ,Bernard and Blondie on stage when all 3 visited little Hønefoss Norway to play with us. Thanks again.
You do the woman a great service with this wonderful tribute. Nothing less that she deserves. She is such a wonderful performer. I'm sure you know what I mean when I say there's something about her voice that keeps you coming back for more. It's spellbinding. I'll keep coming back to this clip whenever I need a Lisa fix. Thanx
Thank you - I really hope so! Very hard to capture Lisa's career, comprehensively, in a short time. I'm sure there are many bits missing and so much more to come. There may well have to be a Part 2 ...
I was lucky enough to see 20ft from stardom tonight at a private screening (in England it's not out until March). I have been raving about it to everyone I've spoken to thus far in the 4hrs since. And will continue to do so! I've heard the Gimme Shelter many times, but never knew who sang the female vocals live….now I do! All I can say is Lisa Fischer….WOW! All the vocalists in 20ft from stardom are amazing, but the 1st one I looked up was Lisa….much kudos and the film deserves the oscar, I was totally mesmerised!
Hi David - I can't wait 'til March (also from UK) - I was expecting an earlier release so it seems such a long wait!!! Grateful for people who capture clips of Lisa live and post to youtube. A wonderful way to share her talents far and wide!
Thank you Caroline for this compilation - Lisa Fischer gives something so beautiful and touching, moving, powerful, soft when she sings... it's all that together... was true then and now - All beautiful ! So connected to sound and breath ! Thank you Lisa Fischer !
I saw her perform last night at the Jazz Alley in Seattle, Wa. I can't tell you what a gift she gave us. I never heard anyone sing with such passion! Thank you Lisa!
Thank you!! I've been looking for Ms. Fischer for years!! I love her voice so much..."How Can I Ease the Pain" is one of my all time favorite tracks. She should be a superstar!
To whoever put this fantastic tribute to Lisa Fischer together, I offer my sincere thanks. I didn't know of this womans incredible voice till I was sent a FaceBook post that featured her singing background with the Rolling Stones. This tribute brought it allto gether for me. Thanks...
This is an excellent tribute - thank you for taking the time to put it all together. I laughed when she matched the tone of the mic feedback during the interview :)
1st thanks Caroline Lawson for post , the vocal range here is massive , a Huge , Talent !! the range of vocals , a fukin mazing , well worth all and every , 37,11, minutes ,amazingly , gracious , "beware the man that has no music in him"
Excellent compilation job of this exceptional and unique singer, Caroline! As opposed to some comment earlier, I feel that Lisa comes across as very, very confident....she's just not a show-off about her job and passion. She seems to do exactly what she loves most in life and she does it incredibly well and totally in a class of her own. Contrary to the flood of mediocre performers that modern media and electronics spit out by the thousands, and like all genuine talent, she has no need to hide behind an arrogant and pathetic facade. A very nice portrait of this longtime favourite of mine! Thank you!!
I don't understand why this doesn't have 10 billion likes?
With a voice like that. You’d think she’d have a huge ego. But her humility and humbleness makes me love her as an artist even more. Her speaking voice is just as magical as her singing voice. She is definitely in my top 5 vocalists of ALL time!!

I grew up listening to Lisa (2003) and in australia I'm sad I'll probs never be able to see her live 😭😭😭
Literally the best musical experience in my ENTIRE life! I was so mesmerized from start to finish!
Every time I heard her sing Gimme Shelter live, it just gave me goose bumps... and still does
🤯 I thought I was the only one! She is truly an awesome talent!
Lisa Fischer is not from this world. That voice is the creation of a power beyond human comprehension.
Britain has Dame Shirley Bassey. America has Lady Lisa Fischer! 🇬🇧🇺🇸
WOW Der Hammer! Was für eine Stimme! I like it!
she was the best addition to the Rolling Stones. she is so powerful and confident!!! i think she gives herself less credit than deserves for Gimme Shelter. Lisa kills Gimme Shelter every time
Lisa knocks it out of the park in Gimme Shelter.
I couldn't agree with you more JLPerry TV. She has an amazing and powefull voice. She is so awesome!!
Merry Clayton sings backup on Gimme Shelter not Lisa...
+bunhead8 you mean on this video?
+bunhead8 Merry sang backup in the studio for the album. Lisa (in live videos) has been touring with them.
she lights up the world when she sings

Beautiful. :)
You describe pretty well why Jagger is unic and he and Lisa makes it great whith different kind of voice.
How old is LISA FISHER
WOULD LOVE TO SEE HER TRY TO SING GREAT GIG IN THE SKY BY PINK FLOYD SHE MADE THE STONES SOUND GREAT
@@johngaribaldi2500 Lisa is 61.
Can’t argue with that she is amazing and thank god the stones wrote this song and let her back it up
Nice montage of great moments of Lisa Fischer. My first encounter with her and still my favorite of her is her contribution on Gimme Shelter. Mary Clayton is awesome on the original recording, but Lisa was given the opportunity to take it live on tour with the Stones for some many years and what a fabulous contribution she has made... :)
Thanks for this compilation! :)
This is a terrific 37 minutes of Lisa! Thank you, Caroline!
PHENOMINAL TALENT !!! GREAT VOICE & MICK KNEW IT !!!!
Lisa is an incredible talent and a kind soul. I’ve seen her several times; her performances are blessed experiences.
if the internet was big when she was getting popular she would've been HUGE she's so likable and talented she'd have swarms of fans supporting her through the internet awaiting for all of her songs
This woman has a voice unknown to mankind, above and beyond anything that we think is humanly possible, the greatest singer The Rolling Stones has ever had w/them........ long may u/run✌🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸
you did a wonderful job with putting this together. thank you.
A Goddess of a woman. Still super gorgeous. Got the voice of an Angel.

The band had a wonderfull time with Lisa ,Bernard and Blondie on stage when all 3 visited little Hønefoss Norway to play with us. Thanks again.
What an incredibly beautiful voice. What an incredibly beautiful woman!
Ahh. Thanks for watching David :)
Thank you for this absolutely gratifying tribute to a singing phenomenon! Just sing Lisa, sing, and let us know there is Love in the world!
You are very welcome. Thank you for your lovely comment... and I'm sure she will !!! :)
She is so faboulous
Thank you for this powerful tribute video! LISA ROCKS;-)
Thank YOU for contributing to it. :) :)
Let me say a year later, "One of the Greatest vocalists of ALL time!"
I totally agree with you I never get tired of that voice.
LoL me too. Was a lovely interview, really funny.

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it ;)
Even after decades, her vocals in Gimme Shelter (my absolute favorite Rolling Stones song) never fail to give me goosebumps.
There is only one word - Fabulous.
:)
Lisa Fischer the best.
Lisa Fischer is so talented and yet so humble. What an inspiration!
Thank you for this video. Lisa Fischer is one of my all time favorite vocalist/background singers. She has inspired me. :)
Thanks for sharing that video was awesome
Lisa, the best at what she did and does.
Ease the pain in my heart... Fischer rocks into centuries to come
Excellent compilation job of this exceptional and unique singer, Caroline! Thank you!!
