Damn, Lisa! Twenty years later and that dress is still EVERYTHING. The hair, the makeup, the plunging neckline, the feathers... flawless. Both records deserved the Grammy that year. Burnin was Patti's masterpiece, in a long, stellar career. And How Can I Ease The Pain was a tour de force.

This will be and unforgettable day in music history. When you hear divas like Patti, Lisa Fischer and Gladys knight and Aretha Franklin you now they will have a tie.
This was 1991 and I just want to say I don’t think we will see a category with singers like Patti, Aretha & Gladys again because these 3 did something that many of their peers couldn’t do. They all started in the 60’s and they were forced to get younger with the times to survive in music. This was the 90’s so they were all late 40’s early 50s in age. To still be in such high demand that is amazing. Most artist have to grow older in their music with time which is hard but these ladies had to grow younger into eras they were not born in that’s harder!!

The tie was symbolic. Lisa is *literally* behind many of the greats. She earned that award in her own right but it also symbolizes she sent many artists to the top as well, who, without Lisa, wouldn't have had the careers they did.
