Congratulations on being the first reactors I've ever seen take this episode as intended and not just call Mabel selfish the whole time! Like so many time-loop movies or shows, going back to Groundhog Day at least, Dipper spends every iteration (except the last one) trying to undo a choice a woman made. It's kind of a disturbing trend with that trope. Using your time powers to rescue a pet is a much more noble goal!

And if you hear garbled speech, play it backward. There are other backmasked messages - usually one at the end of the opening, and also several hidden within episodes. For example, when Mabel is high on Smile Dip in 1x5 "The Inconveniencing," one of the dogs gives her a very important backward message that I really think you should go check out for yourselves on camera :) It's a bit garbled, but important! After you pointed out the Time Traveller's Wife connection, I googled and he isn't in the movie but has starred in some time travel movies. I guess that plus his action star thing equalled perfect time travel bodygaurds.
The first appearance of Mabel's spirit animal, Waddles the pig. This sorta reminded me of the "Bob's Burgers" episode, "Y Tu Tina Tambien," where an obnoxious character also "gets wet.";)
Since you asked after the episode - and it's not a spoiler - it has not been confirmed to my knowledge but there are small things hidden in each of Owl House and Amphibia that the shows are set in the same universe. Real small Easter eggs for the most part, like you're never going to see Dipper show up in the Owl House or anything, but just a couple fun moments that make you go "HEY I KNOW WHAT THAT IS"
I don't know if this could count as a spoiler, but here's a warning. Well, a lot of people don't like Mabel because they say she's selfish and that Dipper is always sacrificing things for her. And they use this episode as an example. But I disagree a little, in this episode, Mabel would be the one sacrificing something, so Dipper could have his "happy ending" with Wendy, and in exchange she would have to lose Waddles. Indeed, Dipper often stops doing things for her in future episodes, and her obsession with boys is relatively annoying, but I don't understand who hates her. And they blame the events of the last episodes on her as well. But they forget that she is just a 12 year old child 🤷🏻♀️
