It’s not just that Doug is popular, you guys do yourselves a disservice thinking that. You and Doug have the best chemistry together, it’s not an interview it’s a couple of friends shooting the shit for a few hours. It comes across in the videos, I think that’s why when he’s on the views are so much higher.
Man, I can't watch Doug's videos. But he's such s great guest.
Doug is a loser.
Actually thinking about this more, I think my main issue with Doug's videos is his overwhelming enthusiasm talking to the camera about the cars while they are parked. As an Australian that just rubs me wrong, because we are generally deprecating people. But that same enthusiasm works SO damn well in his conversation.
Same with Cammisa
I absolutely love Doug and Matt (that Hennessey Blackwing video was epic), and I cannot describe how much I love these podcasts with him. Its such a great discussion and it really is like just listening in to the garage on saturday and hearing two dudes chat about cars. I love it and look forward to this almost yearly discussion...
Petition to make this happen more than one annually: call it Cars and Buds
Cars and Buds sounds like a VERY different kind of podcast...
@@sivildisobediencesounds like a podcast on how to get away with a DUI, weed, or beer
@@sivildisobedience It sounds EXACTLY like the old Smoking Tire Podcasts
No
I had an insulin spike watching Doug eat his 42nd white chocolate Reese's peanut butter cup
It's adding to his gut roll
It's like my uncle with cigarettes
For real, his physique is showing the result of all those sweets.
Diabetes could be knocking around the corner if he isn't careful.
@@TheJoeMB IKR Doug is awesome, but it's not illegal to go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week
New money Doug!
Doug just has an infectious, almost child like joy and enthusiasm for cars. Its just a genuine love for cars and what they are

Zach’s Kevin Spacey joke was funny, justice for Zach. First time I’ve bursted out laughing while watching the podcast.
Great actor, Bad babysitter 😂
@@matthewdurkee5673 So freaking good
What snack will Doug be eating this episode?
Individual plastic wrappers for maximum noise 😅😂
Doug's such a great guest.
Doug, Camisa and Johnny are always my favorite . Harris is great too
The episodes with these two BS'img for a couple of hours are my favorite.
Honey wake up new TST podcast with Doug episode just dropped
"Part of our Pizza Delivery Collection killed me...." Zach coming with the jokes as always...
Friday night out 🚫 Friday night listening to the TST Podcast 👍
Great podcast as always 👏
Doug's the type of guy who can get a word in past Matt.
The perfect post thanksgiving pod
Always the best guest. Hoovie just bought a concept Cadillac that will probably be available in the next few months. Doug should hit him up since it sounds like exactly the kind of concept car he is looking for.
It's up now 👌🏻
Amount of candy Doug brings to podcasts is pretty impressive 😅
He hasn't ever been on TST without snacks in the 10 or so years he's been coming on. Mans knows what he's about
@@deathcab4bootyyou should his own videos. Dozens of cookies everywhere. I don't know how he's not obese.
New Money Doug just WRECKING eight Reese’s cups. 😂
I just love listening to Doug talk about things, It's that childlike enthusiasm I like to hear when I'm doing something else
2 1/2 hours with Doug, oh hell yeah, great conversation between you guys, thanks, Rj in Oz
The White Collection is even larger than that photo, the whole top floor is tons of memorabilia, books, posters - Doug and Matt would be shocked. 959 and Carrera GT had already been sold previously. Love these Doug episodes! My E90 330i still has the original CD changer in the trunk.
I loves Doug’s “I will not disclose the fact that the car has been in an accident”. It’s like the 3rd time he’s said that. I wonder if who ever eventually buys it on Cars and Bids will remember the joke
You guys literally just explained the “two Rogers” scene from Gone in 60 Seconds talking about buying a new Ferrari and feeling special. Awesome scene and completely agree
I would love a podcast with these 3 guys like full time, i would be so ready to pay for a subscription to a weekly podcast called smoking doug
We already know Matt and Zack smoke, and I’m pretty sure Doug does too based on a few of his videos. That would make for a great patreon show, the 3 of them, blazing some good herb and BSing about cars. Call it Cars and Bud’s as someone mentioned above
I'm so glad Doug brought up that Ed Bolian article, such a good piece of writing that served as a great little intermission in the tail end of the pod.
I wish this was a more common occurrence.. Excellent show. Im the rare one here thats always watching dougs videos but realize i need to watch more of TST
Love when Doug is on the show. Great episode
I really likes Doug's philosophy now on car ownership.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
As the former owner of a 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition I love when Matt mentions his Mountaineer or Villager Nautica Edition because a completely inordinate amount of time is spent discussing Ford Explorers and clothing-related trim levels.
The ford explorer talk hit me directly in the feeeeels! My dad got one as a company vehicle in 97 working for Radio Shack in Maine! Got a hand me down one at first, but then in 1998, got a brand new one. I thought we were the coolest people around. Those things for sure were everywhere in the north east. That thing was so cool, to 12 year old me😂
Matt looks like he has lost some weight and looks great. Doug is settling into his dad bod well. Congratulations on the second kid Doug.
You just improved my Friday tenfold, ty Matt, Zack and Doug
Doug totally should make a show called "Quirk my ride"
51:50 Doug saying shout out to Kendal Jenner made me chuckle
I don't watch Doug or really enjoy his content but these podcasts are fire from the chemistry. Always a good chat
Agreed
Always love the episodes Doug is on!
Incredible stuff being said and stories being shared! Love love love this podcast!
I love you guys and your perspective; and I listen to every episode. But I got on youtube to watch this episode for Doug. It is special to have him once a year, but I would love it if he was on twice a year. Thanks, keep up the great work!
Amazing chemistry; fantastic conversation. Y’all need to open a quirky car museum! Like the Lane in Nashville, but weirder!
Great having Doug on the show as always and him being so open about his chocolate addiction!! Also enjoy when Zach joins in. Suggestion maybe have him on video all time but in a smaller screen in top right.
Surprised when talking about prototype the Jaguar C-X75 is never mentioned. Honestly its one of the most beautiful cars ever and even by todays standards is seriously quick. Definitely agree on the Porsche Panamera if you can afford the up keep as a total bargain.
1:45:30 YES as a Texan I agree with Doug, we want big trucks with way too much power
Such an entertaining show as per usual. Matt and Doug's combined useless car knowledge is genuinely always enthralling.
"You drive that around and you're about to fire some people's dads" 😂🤣
Peak Car - 2012ish - 2015. All the modern muscle was peaking...Coyote, Hellcat, GT500, ZR1, Z06, Grand Sport, Boss 302, Cayman S, 991 series, E92 BMW....everything current is an evolution of this era, with just tablets jammed in dashes. Even trucks and SUVs fall into this now. Best value, and will be relevant for years to come.
You guys are great together! Happy Holidays!
Love this episode
This guy and Doug is the nightmare blunt rotation
I do solemnly and sincerely swear that I will watch this podcast collab for the rest of my entire life! 🔥 The entirety of the podcast was solid from beginning to end - admittedly love you guys’ relaxed, natural, unscripted chemistry more than any of the TST podcasts.
One of my favorite guests on the show
This is a perfect podcast in a longtime
All of the talk about 90s vans and SUVs reminds me of the dumb stuff I obsessed over as a kid. Glad I wasn’t alone.
One of the weirdest accessories I’ve seen. Hyundai Tucson had a special edition for The Walking Dead and it came with a backpack with zombie survival gear. I worked for Hyundai and I remember selling one.
On Tesla owners. For the record I own a Model 3 and I not only have driven lots of trucks but I drove a huge 26’ box truck for work. Can’t wait for my Cyber Truck. Am actually hoping it’s so good Matt changes his tune on it. If we can get Matt lol
Killer show! Thanks guys!!
I'm genuinely delighted at how pleasant and engaging this episode is. This is the medium and platform I needed to understand the appeal of Doug. Props to the hosts, and also to the Patreons that sent in some great questions, which generated genuine answers. You can't sit down to create this length of content with this amount of excitement unless you mean it. Thanks for everything, everyone! Also, my Fiesta ST was on Cars and Bids so thanks for the great platform.
Thank you! This was great😊
Doug is the best guest!
Love the Doug pods
I have had a couple glasses of bourbon and have been listening to yall bullshitting for hours now. I love it. Please make these happen yearly. When is the next Jason Cammisa episode coming out lol. Love yall, happy for both of your success :)
Next week 👍
This should be a great episode
Get show. Thanks for having us.
Awesome podcast lads
The contrast between how slow Matt talks and how fast Doug talks is insane
Very nice. Now let's see Paul Allen's Porsche
Doug's countach point is so salient!
A 2001 Base model neon with a manual started my love for cars. My older brother had one and ripped a fat burnout in front of our house and i was hooked on car stuff since lmao.
Love Doug as a guest, always. Hope you got the chance to try that A Class.
A friend of mine owned one once, I drove it for maybe 30 minutes, and the auto box malfunctioned twice during that trip. Had to pull over, turn the ignition off and back on to get it going.
Good times.
LOL doug is relentless to Zach, "pull that up"
Great podcast!
love a doug episode.
1:24:29 Things have changed so much I have a local Porsche dealer with a 911 Dakar on its floor plan and it's. just. sitting.
Awww shit I needed this. Just coming from your EV6 GT review.
I'm class of 93... Fairfield county Ct... You are perfectly describing my life from 16-24.
We did the Southport, Limerock, Great Barrington, Vt route...
in the Parents Eddie Bauer with factory sub....
we had quatros, 99's, gti's, crx's, accords... parents also had Woody Wagoneers and Cherokees
10:00 That shout out for throttle house is pretty sweet
That Italdesign Columbus... Just have a local shop build you one on 150 or 250 chassis? On a low floor Sprinter van chassis?
I totally want to have it, but can't promise to always clean it out from takeaway wrappers. What a party bus.
If it's more of a modern take...could be fine as well! Do it in the Cybertruck style, just flat steel panels and flat gorilla glass with non-round edges?
Best cloth ever - the later Range Rover classic tweedy veloury usually grey. Class.
Great. No guest with more interesting quirks and features... But no timestamps? (Good for viewers - plus SEO.) Cheers
DOUG SPENT 20K ON AN A CLASS
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHA
but also, this was a surprisingly good one. Great convo!
What mic doe matt use to record the intro's? It's trash lol
Lmao 😂
I'm surprised on the "Starting via keypad" conversation Doug didn't bring up the citroen Xantia he reviewed
29:37 doug's hand perfectly lines up
Who remembers Doug trashing the Countach earlier in the year when he did one of these episodes? Lol talking about it drives like shit and its a headache to own. Now that he owns one he loves them 😂
The A-Class thing is really funny. I always love listening to you guys and a lot of the US based car media types talking about these crazy euro cars they are seeing on the internet or on Holiday that they desperately want because they are so cool, so small, with tiny petrol engines (or diesels!) and manual gearboxes. Peugeots, and Fiestas and Polos and all the other stuff. Here in the UK and Europe we can literally see that junk just by looking out of any window of any building. Its the cars we learn to drive in, the cars our mums and Grans have and the cars we yearn to get away from into something 'proper'. I was amused by a facebook group the other day that was a huge circle jerk over a manual gearbox, estate, MkIV Golf, as if it was the second coming of christ. That is the kind of car you use to to take rubbish to the tip in, in the UK/Europe, if you are too poor to buy a transit van.
Meanwhile, however - show up in the UK or Europe with literally, the biggest POS anything by GM/Ford/Chevy with a V8 in, the absolute height of naffness which you lot wouldnt not even turn your head to look at - and over here its 'oh shit, a V8! Woah! Look at it go! The sound!" etc etc...
All things are relative, we will always want what we dont have. I guarantee you every single one of those people doing the 9-5 at the DMV for minimum wages dreams of one day being their own boss or running that restaurant too! Great entertainment guys, keep it up.
Tomorrow I'm getting a big box/bag of white Reece's peanut butter cups for sure. Doug is killin' me eating that candy.
Doug messes me up. I remember him being the dorky guy with the „dailying my Ferrari 360“ video, now he‘s the dorky gazillionaire. What have I done with my life?
Horse and Cart Doug 🤣🤣
Great show! Will always click on a Doug/Smoking Tire show, although a little bit concerned about Doug's eating habits now! ;-)
Trader Joes versions of Peanut butter cups are dark chocolate. The Reese's Peanut Butter Pie Matt!
This was great
Peugeot 306 had a keypad security system, the keypad was in the center console and you had to enter a 4 digit code to get the car to start.
Paul Alan is such a kind and interesting guy. I imagine he’s a nice client to have
Commissioned cars are NEEDED. Most cars I like, I want a wagon version of anyway. Even with the Lucid. Especially with the Lucid. So might a shop be able to make a wagon from the Gravity's rear door and the sedan? Imagine the Sapphire WAGON. Wide body, if you missed it. And handling well, according to some.
I'd consider lowering the Gravity, but dropping the roof won't work, glass is already low. Need to drop the door and everything. I love renders of S Class and EQS wagons. Just a bit bigger. Like a lowered R-Class, which to me isn't ugly.
Love Rob Reiner’s black dial Explorer II
I felt the frustration watching too with the Lambo killing power!
Definitely need to get that back when sorted guys!
.. Maybe against the rally cross mini if they can get some longer gears in there for these activities?
ALDI peanut butter cups are amazing.
2:24:39 I'm really surprised Zack would ask that question. I thought he watches Doug's videos lol
I love to think that Doug made a whole company and website just to geek out about car prices
ive heard the chinese government subsidizes the production and sales of EV's. from what ive heard the companies will build the cars for less than the subsidy, then sell it to a third party company they own. without the sale they dont get the government money. thats why there are many fields in china with sold EV's just parked. so for example: government offers $20k per car. they build it for 10k, "sell" it for 20k, park it it a random field. pocket the 10k. rinse repeat.
Zack 😂 with that 959 joke
ahhh the crazy car experience. my favorite. it doesnt have to be an old supercar.... peoples totally overkill project cars are this way too. especially if you built it yourself and have owned it for like 20 years and still daily it alot of the time.
