  • Quick basics of an oil change on Polaris Sportsman 1000. We do these when not filming in about 20 minutes for the cost of approx $27 - $30 dollars.

    I should have bought a Polaris instead of a canam. To change the oil on a canam takes like 5 years just to get to the oil filter. I bought a 2019 650 Outlander Max. It's a process just to get to the oil filter you have to remove a bunch of fenders, the seat, plastic footing and then it takes different size of tools to take it apart. Nobody wants to spend 5 years changing the oil.

      We have overlooked the ease of maintenance in past buying and realize much more now how important it is to

      I think your talking about the ramps. Those are just car ramps I was using for the video. I've since bought an atv jack/lift and will do an update video on that in the near future.

    How simple on the Polaris but the can-am people make them so you take them to the dealership for a 200 dollar oil change😜

    Is it the same for the 2018 Polaris scrambler 1000?

      I would say yes. I have a 2005 polaris magnum and it holds 2 quarts also and look like it uses the same filter as the one in this video

    Changing the oil in these is a breeze, but getting grease to some of the zerks can be a major pain. The upper front A-arms are the worst 😳 Thanks for posting.

      You can say that again, lol. Getting much better with the two front uppers that are a pain but still not exactly fun to get to.

    Awesome video explained really well. A nice reminder for some people is don’t forget the crush washer on the drain plug .. in case they drop the drain plug in the oil pan. Your videos are excellent

    Geez polaris doesnt give you much room to remove the oil filter. I'm gonna keep that in mind when I'm ready to buy my next 4wheeler

      Oil changes are a piece of cake on this machine and the 850's.

    Sir please tell me how fast yours will do top and I’m hearing low 50s is that true

    • @DirtyJakTheDustyBean
      @DirtyJakTheDustyBean  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Low 50's should be pretty easy, I would say closer to 60 or so for the Sportsman 570 and the 80 mph range for the 1000xp. I haven't pushed this machine as I'm usually on another, I've been told this gets up to 60 with my wife on it.

    • @iceman27406
      @iceman27406 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, low 50's is for the High Lifter models due the gear reduction for the larger tires etc. Regular XP 1000 will do closer to 80 MPH in performance mode if your life does not have enough pucker factor.

      We have multiple vehicles and is much cheaper and actually easier in many cases to just do it ourselves.
